In the second book in the Gavert City series, we trade a serial killer for a deadly cult and find out what happened to Millie six years ago. I liked the way the cult was portrayed, it felt pretty realistic and the Stockholm Syndrome was well done. Even though Millie has been through some pretty terrible things, my heart really went out to Tessa. Living in the shadow of you sister, trying to move on with your life while your mom giv

I loved this fast-paced romantic thriller! Tessa is an easy protagonist to both sympathize with and root for. Her chemistry with damaged and mysterious Luke sizzles. Causing friction in Tessa and Luke's budding romance, though, are an unsolved kidnapping and a chilling cult. Tessa and Luke must figure out how the two are linked to saved their loved ones, and themselves. Pick up SEE ME, SEE ME NOT if you like a chilling thrillers that'll keep you guessing, along with sweet-and-steamy romances tha ...more

Received an ARC for my fair review for netgalley. This was the second book in this series, and I don't know if it was that I was so excited about the book, but I did not enjoy it as much as I did the first one, now don't get me wrong, it was still good, and I did still enjoy it, but I had loved the first one, Dimi and Erin had captured my heart. I liked Tessa, even from the first book, poor girl had went thru so much, from having a wacked mom, not that she meant to be that way, but the poor lady ...more

I have been a fan of Elodie Nowodazkij's books for a few years now, they are sweet and romantic stories that I have enjoyed reading. This novel, See Me, See Me Not, for me, is by far her best. I was immediately sucked in to the alternating view points of Mellie, Tessa and Luke. Tessa has been missing her sister for the past six years when she disappeared one night. The loss of her sister has destroyed her family by breaking up her parents. Her mother has been spending hours and money the family ...more

This book intrigued me from the very first page. I didn't expect the book to have such a thought provoking and serious subject matter. I thought it would just be another second chance romance not that there is something wrong with them. I appreciated the attention to detail and the depth concerning the characters and the issues each of them were dealing with. I felt that their methods of coping and reactions

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

See me, See me not is a fantastic book full of suspense and keeps the reader on edge throughout the whole book. This book was fascinating and it shows how time and a need for comfort can make a person vulnerable. Immediately, the book jumps in with the POV of Tessa’s sister, Mellie. Mellie was kidnapped as a kid and is still a captive. However, now, she trusts and likes her captive. She has been t

Another great book by Elodie Nowodazkij in this series.
The first book had the town being struck by a serial killer, whom they finally were able to stop. When the killer makes his confessions, Tessa's sister Mellie, who has been missing for seven years, was not one of the victims.
In this book, Tessa and her parents lives are falling apart without Mellie. Every cent they have, including Tessa's college fund, has been spent trying to find her. Finally they meet a psychic that says she knows where M

See Me, See Me Not is a hainting suspense with a side of happily ever after. Their budding romance is easily waylaid by their coping mechanisms and their individual histories. What they don't realize, will definitely bite them in the butt.

Tessa lives in the shadow of her sister's disappearance. Her mother is lost. Her father no longer lives with them. Her only source of comfort is going off to college...eventually. When her childhood friend reappears, its both a blessing and a curse. She just i

I always make sure to have a few hours interrupted when I start one of Elodie's books because once I start reading, I don't want to stop. Her books always pull me and SEE ME, SEE ME NOT was no exception. I liked the structure of three narrators because it provided glimpses into the danger that was coming for the two main characters. The entire story had a foreboding feeling, even more so when the psychic showed up. The scene in the restaurant really gave me the creeps, although it led to one of ...more

See Me, See Me Not by Elodie Nowodazkij is the 2nd book in the Gavert City, a young adult thriller/romance series, and another great addition. Wow! Ms. Nowodazkij does it again! I normally read sweet young adult romances, and this is not one of those. Yes there is a sweet romance between Tessa Gardner, high school junior, and her childhood friend Luke, who recently returned to town under strange circumstance. On top of getting through their normal lives, there is so much heart breaking history w ...more

Some times our past collide. The disappearance of Mellie several years ago has been hard on Tess and her family. Her parents are separated and kids treat her differently at school. She works 2 jobs and tries to keep things together for her and her mom. Luke has returned to town and is living with his uncle. No one is sure of why he left and why has he come back to town. Tess and Luke have renewed their childhood friendship with some boundaries. They draw closer and soon learn that they are not s ...more

I have to be honest and say when I read the blurb I expected a little paranormal/psychic aspect to the story. However, this story was definitely not what I expected and I don't mean it in a terrible way. This was an okay read for me and I liked the mystery aspect to the story, but what I honestly didn't expect was the story to be cult like because I didn't get that from reading the blurb. I really did enjoy Tessa and Luke's characters and I enjoyed reading their moments together and even though ...more

Suspenseful and bittersweet

I won this book from Goodreads. I really didn't know what to expect from this book but it ended up being better than I expected. Tessa has secrets and guilt about the day her sister was taken away. Luke also has secrets from his past that he is trying to run from. Turns out the two are connected without realizing it. The first chapter had me hooked because it made me wonder what had happened to Mellie. While trying to figure out how everything connects, Luke and Tessa

I want to thank Netgalley for providing me with this book in exchange for my honest review.

I have to say I honestly couldn’t get enough of this book.
It was fast paced which I really loved and read it all in one sitting!
Tessa and Luke were awesome main characters and I really connected with them and their stories.
This book had romance and kept me on the edge of my seat and honestly I couldn’t have asked for more.
5 stars.

Kind of a slow start to this one. However I kept reading because the #1 of this series is one of my absolute favorites. I am so glad I did keep reading! Because it ended up being almost as good.as the first one. The cult portrayal got a bit freaky and scary. Another excellent book!

This review is based on the ARC provided by the author and/or the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion.

I had really enjoyed reading the first book in the series, and was excited when I found out that I had won a copy of this book in a goodreads giveaway. I was not disappointed. Nowodazkij does a good job of creating characters you can relate to and sympathize with. I didn't expect the direction the story took from the blurb (and I won't ruin the surprise here), but it made for an interesting read. I can't wait to find out what will happen in the next book in the series! ...more

I received this book from Netgalley in exchange for my honest opinion and review. I quite enjoyed this book. I liked how everything with Luke was connected to Mellie. I was a little disappointed in how the book ended; I wish things had ended differently. I liked how real Tessa’s Mom’s grief was. It gave you a different perspective. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves mysteries and rime

I like to give high marks to writer's and their books when warranted. This book had me on an emotional roller coaster (in a positive way). The subject matter is sometimes tough because of a bad cult villain some of it's members and their tactics. But there is also bravery, compassion and even love that seems to be shine. ...more

I just realized that it is the second book of the series. Though it can be considered as standalone. Anyway, the story a bit confusing to me. Tessa’s sister has been caught by someone who is a cult and has to brainwash her about the whole system and how it works while Tessa feels so lost without her sister with her mom who’s been looking for her sister anywhere using any option she can to know where is she.

Received a free copy from Goodreads for an honest review. I enjoyed this book a lot more then I believed I would in the beginning. The characters had depth and had seen so much struggle. Twists accumulated into heartbreak for two families. Yet in the end love saves them.

BRILLIANT
