Flowers for Jesus: A Story of Thrse of Lisieux as a Young Girl

Rate this book
Little Thérèse Martin could be a very stubborn young girl. All too often, if someone wanted her to say "yes," she wanted to say "no"!

But then, as she is preparing for her First Communion, Thérèse discovers a way to turn her everyday trials and tribulations into something beautiful for Jesus. Join Thérèse (and her family) as she learns to "gather roses from amid thorns."

With simple storytelling and vibrant watercolors, Flowers for Jesus introduces children to a saint they can relate the young Thérèse of Lisieux, before she became known the world over as a spiritual master. Flowers for Jesus draws on her autobiography, Story of a Soul , to relate a key aspect of Thérèse's "Little Way" in language that children can understand and appreciate.

The book concludes with biographical information about Thérèse, as well as the excerpt from Story of a Soul on which Flowers for Jesus is based.

Picked this one up at the Catholic book store for my little daughter who loves St. Therese. I read it aloud to my twins, and they really enjoyed it. I loved the book and the illustrations are very well done, beautiful.
