On the day I turned fifteen years old I knew I loved James Blakney. There was a look in his eye that told me he’d finally noticed I existed in a realm beyond best-friend’s-much-younger-off-limits-don’t-even-think-about-it-little-sister. Call it womanly intuition, despite the fact I was barely qualified for being an actual woman at just fifteen—and only in the biological sense—but still, I knew I loved him.

What I never expected from him was a proposal of marriage nearly eight years later. I know it's not supposed to be a real marriage, but James is certainly making it feel that way.

He's also hiding something from me.

But I've hidden the truth from him as well.

Lies.

So many filthy lies.

Raine Miller has been reading romance novels since she picked up that first Barbara Cartland book at the tender age of thirteen. And it's a safe bet she'll never stop, because now she writes them too! Granted Raine's stories are edgy enough to turn Ms. Cartland in her grave, but to her way of thinking, a hot, sexy hero never goes out of fashion. A former teacher, she's now writing sexy romance stories full time. She has a handsome prince of a husband, two brilliant sons, and two bouncy Italian Greyhounds to pull her back into the real world if the writing takes her too far away. Her sons know she likes to write stories, but gratefully have never asked to read any, thank God! Raine loves to hear from readers and to chat about the characters in her books. Winter Blackstone is a beautiful 24 yr. old woman who comes from a wealthy, prominent family. She lives in Boston where she spends her time volunteering at a youth center, and taking classes to complete her masters in social work. Her family has been coping with the devastating loss of her father, and wanting a fresh start she takes one of the apartments in her brother Caleb’s building. Added benefit is her longtime crush James Blakney lives in the apartment above her. She’s loved James since she was fifteen when she realized he’d finally noticed her as more than just his best friend’s little sister. Over the years she cherished their lifelong close friendship, and secretly longed for more. Since she’d moved into the same building something had shifted between them, and it seemed she finally had his attention.

James Blakney is a successful corporate lawyer in his 30’s. He grew up with a manipulative father who always tried to control his life. He’s made a lot of changes in the last few years in his personal and professional life. He’d started his own firm, and also found a place he could express his hidden desires without judgement. Everything is going well for him until Winter Blackstone gets under his skin. She was completely unaware of her beauty, and she possessed every quality he could look for in a woman. Ever since she moved into his building he couldn’t quit fantasizing about her. He’s always admired her from afar, and accepted long ago she was off limits, but now it was pure torture being close to her and not being able to touch her. She was too sweet and innocent for the likes of him, but oh how he craved her like his next breath. He had it bad for a woman he shouldn’t. He thought he could never have her, but then an unexpected opportunity to go there with her is presented.

-Years of living with my feelings only cemented what I knew. I was so lost in him. I always had been, and I knew that I’d accept whatever he offered and deal with the consequences later.

-No one had over looked at me as if I was their... as if I was their world.

-There was no mistaking his intentions anymore. James wanted me.

-One small slip of indulging in my desires to be closer and there would be no turning back.

-I’d never felt this way about any other woman before.

-Winter was my heart’s desire and she always would be.

The flirting and sexual tension between James & Winter is through the roof. Soon boundaries are crossed, and Winter quickly becomes addicted to being his. The man who took possession of her heart years ago, now owns her body as well. She trusts him implicitly, but will secrets and lies stand in the way of true love?

This was book two in the Blackstone Dynasty series, and Raine Miller really brought it all and knocked it out of the park with this amazing friends to lovers/brothers best friend romance. This is one of my favorite books she’s written. Why??? One word... JAMES!!! 💗 Omg, this man is everything! He’s so loving, but also sexy as hell, & did I mention dirty. Yeah, James is delicious! I couldn’t put this book down, and flew right through it. Just loved it! I hope we get a story for Lucas & Victoria next!

Sexy, steamy, passionate and oh so satisfying!

I really enjoyed this second installment in the Blackstone Dynasty series. There is a familiar quality to all of Raine Miller’s stories for me, a sense of comfort akin to a safety blanket that overwhelms me whenever I open one of her books, and they never fail to leave me smiling in the end. There was no real angst or unnecessary drama, just a beautiful love story with lovable and down to earth characters and some extremely hot sex scenes thrown into the mix. The perfect mix of heart and heat I love so much in romance. If you’re a true romance fan this series is just for you.

James Blakney and Winter Blackstone have known each other their whole lives, but at a distance. Not only did their ages always set them apart, but the fact that James was Caleb’s best friend didn’t help matters. That didn’t stop Winter from longing for the one man she couldn’t have, or stop James from the same. Unrequited love stories are sometimes the hardest yet juiciest to read and Raine Miller captured it beautifully in Filthy Lies.

Winter was a real sweetheart. Growing up in a life of privilege, she always wanted to find ways to give back. She was the kind of person to give away her Christmas presents to those less fortunate. She was a hard character to resist falling for. And so when I realized that she wanted to be with James, I not so patiently waited for him to wise up and see the perfection right before his eyes.

James was a dirty-talking sweetie too. He was an amazing friend, a good son, and he was secretly in love with Winter. Hooray! He was stuck on the precipice, wanting to take the leap from friendship to forever, but unsure if revealing his true feelings to Winter would ruin everything. But when an accident leaves her vulnerable and she reveals her innermost thoughts and emotions, James realizes that his wait is over.

Set amidst the drama of a shady side character and the machinations of an evil, conniving parent, James and Winter explored their love that was unlike any other. They were finally able to let go and be free, especially in the bedroom. James found his kinky and submissive better half in Winter and he was willing to do whatever it took to ensure her happiness. The story did get a tad bit repetitive, especially when it came to the inner monologues of the characters, but aside from that, I found it to be quite enjoyable. Then again I had no doubt I’d love this story as the Blackstone’s haven’t steered me wrong yet!

Filthy Lies is a book I've been dying to read ever since the last book, Filthy Rich ended. I'm a huge fan of the brothers-best-friend trope and also these characters really caught my attention at the end of the previous book. So I jumped into this one very excited to get more of James and Winter. And I did enjoy their story, but I also had a few issues with it that kept my rating from being higher that a 3 Star.

I thought their relationship was intriguing and I liked that they were both pining over each other instead of it being one sided like I see a lot of the time in these types of books. They did have chemistry that was clear on the pages that I enjoyed seeing. What had me the most interested was their separate situations for marriage since they both had their own reasons for wanting it and then we got to see how that came together into a real relationship.

My problems came in mostly from the length of the story. It wasn't a very long book but the entire beginning had me feeling like I was reading a 700 page story since it was kind of dragging. It took James and Winter so long to actually get together, or even for James to bring up the marriage thing and it was starting to get a little boring. I was just waiting and waiting for something to happen between them and up until 50% it felt like nothing was going on with them.

Then when we got to the ending it was like an overload of information. Not even just for James and Winter though, there were things that were brought up about Caleb which I honestly can't remember if they were revealed in his own book or not, but either way it distracted from James and Winter. With the sudden fast pace to their relationship plus the added scenes for Caleb it just felt very rushed for me.

Overall, I had issues with the pace of this book but as a whole I think it was a good story. I'm definitely still going to be reading more of the Blackstone's and I can't wait to see how Jame's sisters story will turn out.

We're back in the Blackstone World.

Winter Blackstone is the little sister of Caleb from book #1.

She has been in love with her brother's best buddy James since she was 15 and he was 23.

But even if he would miraculously fall in love with her, he could never start something with the little sister of his friend. Right? Especially not when Winter's other brother knows exactly what James is doing at some club at night.

But now James has to find a wife - says his idiot of a father. Daddy dearest wants to run for office. And not just any old office. Nope, he wants the highest one in the country and he can't have his son behave like he has been doing for years now.

Winter has secretly been his dream girl for years. But he couldn't drag her into this stupid family business ... or could he? Should he? Does he want to?

There's nothing he wants more than Winter ....

And other than being hopelessly in love with him, Winter could also use a marriage to get her trust fund - to found a shelter thing once she's officially a social worker.

What will happen with Winter & James?
Will there be a HEA?
READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT!

Awwww!

That was such an adorable & heartbreaking love story.

The book takes place at about the same time as the first book. Caleb and Brooke are already together.

Both Winter and James are in love with each other, but if they started a relationship, or even a marriage, it would also benefit his Dad and her trust fund dreams. So they could never be sure of the other's real feelings. Do they love each other? Want each other for who they are?

Very complicated. But of course love will win - it might just take a tiny little while until we can ride of into our happily ever after sunset!

I loved reading the story! It's adorable and fun and verry sexy!

And of course it's all so heartbreaking and sad and moving. The little kids at the shelter. Winter's dad just died. James with his idiot of a father. Who wants that guy as president? Well, it can't get any worse than it is in real life at the moment. But still. Horrible guy!

It was a great love story. Great people. I loved seeing Caleb and Brooke again - and we even get a little extra epilogue for them at the end!!!! And I can't wait to get Victoria's & Lucas's story one day!

FILTHY LIES was a really beautiful & adorable & moving & sexy love story. Run to your nearest amazon for your own James - this one is MINE!!!!

If I had to name some things I didn't like. Hm... there were way too many italic/cursive words. And most of them didn't make any sense - they didn't need to be like that. Very weird.

And with all his being a dom and stuff - James was a bit too mushy for my tastes. The way he always says My Winter. Cute once or twice ... but he was just too soft and .. no idea. He was great, but also just a little too un-manly.

And also - the blurb and the prologue. Both not my thing. The blurb is weird - what lies? Nobody really lies about anything? And the prologue? A little bit spoily! LOL! ☺

BUT - I still loved the book! Even if it doesn't sound like it! ☺☺☺

Winter has been in love with her brothers best friend for years. She has resigned to the fact that while James may see her as a woman, he will never act on it.

James noticed Winter long before what was appropriate but he knew she was off limits as his best friends little sister. After a disastrous relationship, James changed, became darker. It's no place for such a sweet woman like Winter. But what if she likes a little bit of the dark?

I was pleasantly surprised by this story based off the title of the book. I was gearing up for some major drama. What's funny is this did have some pretty angsty situations throughout the book but it never really felt it. I have the reactions of James and Winter to thank for that. If I could have given a wish list to an author on how I want to see the main characters respond in conflict, this was it.

Filthy Lies was a pretty refreshing take on this slightly forbidden trope. I absolutely adored how James took care of Winter. I also adored how sweet and genuine Winter was. I would have liked to have their story expanded a bit more but that's always the case with a couple I love.

Raine Miller is back and she once again she transported me to a world of pure romance, sexiness and characters to cherish and love for years to come. James and Winter's story will make you swoon and turn the pages giving us the most perfect ending to this novel. It is lovely to see characters from Blackstone Dynasty Book 1 and totally look forward to the next one as since book 1 Raine Miller is giving us very intriguing hints and I'm really sooo curious about what happened there.
Being back in the Blackstone world and submerged in Raine Miller's words is definitely one of my favorite reading experiences. Total bliss!!

An exciting and steamy new romance from Raine Miller!

Filthy Lies was filthy good!

I was so incredibly anxious to dive back into the illustrious and complex Blackstone World! In Filthy Rich, we were given Caleb Blackstone’s story. This time, we take the journey with his younger sister, Winter, and James Blakney, Caleb’s best friend. Secrets unfold, lies are uncovered, and lines are crossed on their path to find love and happiness.

This book was a wonderful read! Winter and James were two halves of a whole that was clearly evident right from the beginning of the story. The prologue engulfs you into the mysteries hidden within the storyline and propels you to find out what happens between these two fascinating characters. You become torn, right along with the characters, between what actions should be taken, the truths that should be voiced, and the desire to go after one’s love.

There were so many aspects of the book that I really enjoyed. The overall dynamic of the storyline flowed seamlessly. And the originality infused into the story sets it apart from any typical friends-to-lovers romance. And of course, I loved Winter and James. Loved everything about them…as friends, as lovers, as potential spouses to one another. Their relationship from beginning to end was completely heartfelt and romantic, and their chemistry and sexual tension was authoritative and passionate enough to make you burn up on the inside. And their history together truly empowered the progress toward change from friends to lovers.

All-around, this was a sizzling, sexy, and completely swoony love story! Filthy Lies was the perfect addition to the Blackstone Dynasty series. And I challenge anyone with a beating pulse to try and not fall in love with James Blakney. It’s thoroughly impossible not to.

4 Stars!

Meh, this didn’t really work for me. I read the Blackstone trilogy years ago and loved it but this lacked the depth of those books that totally gripped me and I had no emotional connection with the characters. The plot seemed to jump around, there was no real tension and he was supposedly a Dom but he behaved like a sap, pushed around by his father. Shame.

You could probably read this as a standalone.

AHHHH! I can’t stop smiling. I can’t stop sighing. I can’t stop swooning. I can’t stop feeling and loving Filthy Lies! Ever since I met Naked over four years ago, the first book in The Blackstone Affair series by Raine Miller, I’ve been bewitched! I’ve loved this series from the very first page—from Ethan and Brynne to James and Winter—and will never get enough! Heart meets heat in Filthy Lies, a deliciously dirty, decadent and heart-stopping sensation that will render you breathless, addicted, and aching for more.

Winter Blackstone was my kryptonite.

I was so CONSUMED with this romance! I nearly 5 starred Filthy Lies from its enticing and intoxicating Prologue alone that had me screaming for more! This story sparks with sexual tension. The build-up is fire that blazes through the body. So off-the-charts hot. So delicious and divine. A slow burn of scorching desire and soul. I scorched and I swooned. Filthy Lies lit my body, heart, and soul on fire! I BURNED while devouring this book! So heady. So hot. So heartfelt. So everything. I MELTED FOR MORE.

I was so lost in him. I always had been.

This story is SEXY with strong characters that captivate from beginning to end. Raine Miller has written one of the hottest and heart-pounding heroes along with one of the kindest, biggest-hearted heroines ever.I wanted to be Winter Blackstone, a woman I had to admire and one I wished I could be. James is as caring as he is dominant and delicious. I adored Winter and James’ melt-my-heart romance so much—the steam, the struggle, the swoon, and the forever love of soulmates that shines bright—that I didn’t want it to end. I was WHOLEHEARTEDLY ENAMORED with this heartfelt hero and heroine with history who ENGRAVED MY HEART.

”You’re a saint and I’m a sinner.”

The off-the-charts chemistry, the pent-up passion, the promise of more, the love that was buried but brought to life, the sexy and swoon, and heart and soul make Filthy Lies the PERFECT ROMANCE. I LOVED being wrapped up in Raine Miller’s words again. Raine Miller’s writing is always superior—stories like Filthy Lies I’ll always blindly one-click because this author is a master storyteller that slays romance! Just YES!!! Spellbinding, sinfully sexy, and soul-stirring, Filthy Lies is a can’t-put-down story that swept me away where I’m basking in the most blissful of book comas. ROMANCE BLISS!!!

”Tell me right now what you want, Winter.”

“I want you.”

Hands down, Filthy Lies is a TOP 2018 and MUST-READ ROMANCE!

💋💋💋💋💋💋 fierce, forever, and fated kisses

Crushing on your older brothers hot best friend? Lusting over our friends jailbait baby sis?

I’ve been starving for another whack at a Raine Miller read and I’ve been finally granted an answer!! Squeeeeeee!!

Winter Blackstone—- and yes, she is related to Ethan Blackstone— has always carried a torch for James Blakney. Ever since she was 15 years old.

Now all grown up and on the path to success, not to mention, cohabiting in the same building, fate has branded them together in this sensual read of an unlikely romance that was never truly one sided.

All in all, I truly enjoyed this read. Then again I could be bias because it is Raine Miller and I can never get enough of her books *cough cough still hoping for Gabrielle and Ivan’s stories to be still in the works!!* . Lol.

All you Raine Miller fanboys and fan girls can be rest assured, this is a good and pretty straight read with little to none upheavals or setbacks other than James’ dad. I did feel that the whole James’ father’s deal was pretty erm, dramatic and sometimes unnecessary but I did feel that it did add incentive to drive up the stakes and for James to finally take the plunge to take the risk.

Other than that I really hope for Lucas to have his own story and possibly up next cause I’m dying to know his and *character I will not name*’s deal.

These books are definitely turning way more "cotton candy" than what Raine Miller previously shown us. Not to say that that's a bad thing, I particularly enjoy a sweet romance novel, especially when the main characters been secretly pining for each other for years, that is nothing more than a good and simple romance novel without the need to pretend to be something more than that.
And this one definitely filled my quota.

OK, so I was DYING for their story and yet I couldn't help but feel underwhelmed. I agree with another review, for me, it took WAY TOO LONG for anything to actually happen. I almost felt like there was too much in the head talking and descriptive scenes of everything except what I wanted and that was MORE talking and MORE interacting between Winter and James. For me, the chemistry was there, the affection and love between the two was THERE soooooo for me, this author could have made their story SO MUCH MORE and yet for me, it was lacking in the relationship build-up. They were the perfect two leads to have had a great build-up and yet, I felt "cheated" sorry, that's my feelings! There was NO denying their attraction, their love, their EVERYTHING for each other that hell, I wanted so much more for their story:(

Now with that being said, I did enjoy it and now I look forward to Lucas and Victoria's, wink, wink, story....... I hope, lol. NOW those two are a complete mystery and I am quite intrigued :)

‘I knew who I wanted. There was only one person. The only girl it could ever be for me – even though it would be something close to immoral for me to bring her into the shitfuckery that was my life.’

We do love everything Blackstone, so we dived straight into Filthy Lies by Raine Miller the moment it landed on our kindles. We were immediately swept up into the emotional and sexy romantic journey which Winter and James found themselves on. Filthy Lies is one of those easy sexy reads with just the right amount of passion, emotion and angst to keep you reading from cover to cover in one –happy place- sitting.

‘I was so lost in him. I always had been, and I knew that I’d accept whatever he offered and deal with the consequences later.’

Winter is Caleb Blackstone’s sister from Filthy Rich -which we loved- and this is her story. And what a story it was. Winter is a wonderful heroine. A mere twenty four year old encompassing more wisdom, maturity and strength than her years. Her heart is huge, her compassion grand. We fell in love with Winter and wanted her to find someone to care for her, love her and protect her just as she does to others. Winter only wants James Blakney though. A childhood crush whom she fell in love with, a love that still and will forever remain in her heart, no matter what.

‘This was my truth. Because I could never be with Winter the way I wanted to be. I could never have her. Not how I dreamed of having her when my inner most fantasies took over within my twisted headspace.’

James is eight years older than Winter and has known her all her life through his close friendship with Caleb. He’s always harboured an inner need to protect Winter – loved her even, however, somewhere along the years this love turned into more than a ‘sibling love’ rather turning into a passionate burning desire for a woman who stands on a pedestal above all others. James is conflicted. But the heart wants who it wants. We fell in complete love with James. Swoon worthy has a new name and it’s, James Blakney.

“James, you cannot hurt her….”

No path to love is easy, especially when outside influences come in to play, and not the good kind. A true love determined to succeed will stand up, be counted and show the middle finger; proving it’s unbreakable and can weather all storms. We thoroughly enjoyed watching just that!

‘I’d probably do anything to hear her say those three words to me again. Those words changed everything. Every-fucking-thing.’

We loved this story; it was perfect in many ways. We would have loved to have experienced more of the dominating side of James, his controlling ways if you will. He was utterly romantic, super sexy and extremely loving. He was almost too perfect so we needed a bit more of the rough edge which we knew he possessed. However, our sweet and fierce heroine and our kinky and wonderful hero made us feel every emotion, as they did, connecting completely to the intense depth of their love which was achieved by the fabulous writing talent that is, Raine Miller.

‘It’s time for you to come home.’

I've been intrigued by Winter Blackstone and James Blakney since reading Filthy Rich. I loved the hint that there was something going on between Caleb's little sister and his best friend. I couldn't wait for Raine Miller to write their story. I'm very happy to report that she has surpassed my high expectations. Filthy Lies was another highly addictive and heart-breakingly beautiful story in the Blackstone Dynasty series. It was full of intrigue and scandals that are common among the rich and privileged but also about their hearts' desires that can't be bought - love and happiness.

Raine's poignant and captivating writing never ceases to amaze me. She is an exceptionally talented storyteller who knows how to deliver a plot that will keep you on your toes and create complex, multi-layered characters. She manages to seduce my heart and mind with every book she writes. That's why she is one of my unicorn authors and on my auto-buy list since years.

Winter Blackstone loves James Blakney since she was only 15 years old. He came to her rescue in an unpleasant situation and has been her hero ever since. She admires him secretly from afar knowing that he will never be hers. James is gorgeous, successful and sexy - he can have every woman he wants. Yet he suddenly and unexpectedly proposes to her. It's supposed to be solely a marriage of convenience - mutually beneficial. But how can they nonchalantly pull it off if both their hearts are deeply involved?

Winter and James are hiding their true feelings from each other since years - but for the same reasons. They're also keeping dirty secrets which could eventually hurt each other. Is their love strong enough to overcome the filthy lies?

I'm madly in love and lust with James Blakney. He is such an intriguing character whose flaws made him even more endearing to me. What I liked most about him was that he is a man of integrity and honor. He is a guy you can lean on and who would never let you down. I loved his relationship with Winter. James was attentive and understanding. He found great pride in her achievements and cheered her on. Winter was the calm to James' storm. She made him laugh and relax and brought so much joy to his life. She is a compassionate, caring woman with a soft heart but also determined and strong-willed. Their chemistry was off the charts hot and you could feel the passion and desire between them.

I've enjoyed this book thoroughly from start to finish and recommend it from the bottom of my heart. It's the perfect read to escape reality for a few hours and immerse yourself in the world of Boston's elite. If you like your books angsty, sexy and emotion-filled than you need to grab this one! You won't be disappointed! I'm giving this gem 5 filthy stars. Queen Raine, I bow to you.

She's baaaccckkk!! Our Queen Raine Miller is back bigger and better than ever with this amazing new book Filthy Lies!! It had me intrigued after reading Book 1 - Filthy Rich to continue the story of James Blakney and Winter Blackstone!! Oh and what a hot read this is!! 💜

Their "beautiful" story, their sensual journey, their loving, often dramatic adventure is one you certainly don't want to miss. It is full of happiness, hot steamy sex scenes, "beautiful" words exchanged, selfless acts of helping others as well as heartache and despair but mostly full of love and tenderness. James and Winter's chemistry is off the charts spilling over the Kindle pages after page. You can feel this couple had a long time passion for each other since Winter was 15 and James being older at 23. This just intensified their somewhat taboo, "friends" relationship to bring it to a whole new hotness level. This is the perfect must Summer read, a little "Winter in your Summer" and a whole lot of James. 💜

Raines words have always been magical, always breathtaking, always captivating wanting you reading more and more. I could never get enough of her beautiful stories and you won't either after reading this "Filthy" 5 star best seller for sure!! 💜

From the first moment I met James Blakney and Winter Blackstone in Filthy Rich, I couldn't wait to read their story. There was something forbidden and complicated about their relationship and I couldn't wait to find out why. Being a huge Raine Miller fan since years, I knew that this super talented author would never let me down. She is known for her flawless, captivating writing. I'm not exaggerating when I tell you that her words make my heart soar. All of her stories are so deep under my skin, it feels like they are a part of me. This is why she was and always will be a go-to author for me!

Since her fifteenth birthday Winter Blackstone is in love with James Blakney, her brother Caleb's best friend. She's always been off limits to him. But on that faithful day, she realizes for the first time that James might see more in her than just a little girl.

As always life happens and some very unlucky circumstances change James forever. Now he's a hard working, tough lawyer who has no intentions whatsoever to give up his lifestyle. There is a darkness surrounding him that makes him believe that he's incapable of love. James thinks that the likes of him don't deserve someone pure and good-hearted like Winter Blackstone.

Winter Blackstone has been born and raised in a privileged family. She knows how lucky she is in comparison to others. This is why she wants to help the poor and less fortunate and studies social work at the University of Boston. All of her young life she's been watching James from afar. This is why she is more than surprised when he suddenly approaches her with a marriage proposal.

Winter knows that the marriage is one of convenience and not a real one. But can she be married to someone she loves who doesn't love her the same way? Things get far more complicated after they kiss for the first time. What are James' motives and what is he hiding from her? And furthermore, what truth is Winter hiding from James?

These two gave me all the feels! I loved them beyond words!!! There was such a deep connection between them that went far beyond sheer chemistry. I was cheering for them from page one hoping that they will finally act on their feelings for each other. I must confess that there were some major obstacles standing in their way. They literally went through heaven and hell together.

James was the perfect protective and possessive alpha hero. He's someone who needs to be in charge, always being in control of the situation. Never in his dreams did he imagine that sweet and compassionate Winter would naturally accept and embrace all the facettes of his personality. She was literally the light to his darkness. I loved how they complemented each other. They were the perfect match!

All in all, Filthy Lies totally surpassed my expectations! There was so much more depth to this story and the characters than meets the eye. While some parts of the book were very sad, others were so beautiful it brought tears to my eyes and made me swoon. I can say without a doubt that Filthy Lies is one of my most favorite reads of this year. Thank you dear Raine Miller for this exceptional reading experience. 5 stars

I just loved Filthy Lies from the very first word til the last! It was like coming home! I love that Raine Miller continues with the Blackstone family, although I can imagine what a pain in the ass it can be with all the connections and timeframes. Ever since Naked the Blackstone saga holds a very special place in my heart.

It all started with this prologue. I was worrying where it would go. It set the tone for the book and made it an absolute page turner. Raine Miller and her amazing writing had me with just these few pages.

I love James and his little secret. This might be just me, because I have a huge thing for that. Such a turn on. I loved his overall demeanor. Even with the family that he has, he became a great man with the right amount of chivalrous manners and dominance and gentleness.

I also loved Winter. Her determination is just so awesome! She does what she wants and not what everyone would expect her to do. She is another great badass heroine who doesn’t take s*** from anyone.

They’ve been friends forever since their families have been close. But since James is Caleb’s best friend, Winter as Caleb’s little sister is off limits...or so it was. With James father having political ambitions, he is expecting certain things from his son. Even though James doesn’t give a cent about this, it brings Winter to front and center of his mind not in a friendship way. One little accident changes all and friends finally reveal how they really feel for each other. While discovering what is between them, their families and their respective issues have an impact. All that has you so hooked to the pages, that you just have to continue reading to find out what happens next.

I hope you don’t mind it if I say: this is a classic Raine Miller. I mean it in the best way possible. You know that you will get great writing with awesome characters, lots of love and those twists you don’t see coming at all, but give the story the cherry on top.

“I’d been given the keys to the kingdom of my happily ever after...with the love of my life.”

Raine Miller delighted and enthralled me with this latest release in the Blackstone Dynasty series! James and Winter are childhood friends to lovers with the prospect of a marriage of convenience. Let me just say that everything I thought this story was going to be about, was blown away with the twists to their HEA. It was beautifully written and perfectly paced, filled with angst, romance, and off-the-charts sexual chemistry! I loved James and Winter, separately and together. They were exactly what the other needed, but I admired each as idealistic, practical, and strong individuals.

This was the perfect example of contemporary romance at its best, and Filthy Lies was SO worth the wait for its release. I’m already looking forward to the next book...perhaps Lucas and Victoria?

This story is told in dual POV, and while it can most certainly be enjoyed as a stand-alone, I highly recommend you read Caleb and Brooke’s story in Filthy Rich at some point! I highly recommend 1-clicking Filthy Lies and start reading NOW!

Bravo Raine Miller! Keep the books in this series coming. ❤️

Yes yes yes! Raine Miller never disappoints her fans. She is the creator of all men alpha. James Blakney made me swoon the entirely of this book!

There were so many conflicts, which kept me page turning, and non-stop reading. I can't get enough of the Blackstone Family, doesn't matter what generation they are. The whole dynamic of rich Blackstone's and yummy James Blakney was all I needed.

What made James and Winter's romance more heart felt and angsty…was all their chemistry...their back story growing up that they never acted on...the crazy conflict with respect to James's twisted father.

And most certainly the push and pull…and God James is sooo hot!!!

The secondary characters totally rocked in this book, and make for WAY more books to come. I look forward to all of that.

Raine Miller has always been a one click for me, and I'm soooo glad she's expanding on the Blackstone's! Give me more!

It is always sweet bliss picking up a Raine Miller book. I am thoroughly in love and enjoying the American Blackstone world that Raine is gifting to us. We were first introduced to Winter and James in Filthy Rich, the first book in this series that revolved around Caleb Blackstone and his beautiful girl, Brooke.

When I meet secondary characters in a book, I can't help but start formulating their stories in my head, way before an author has even announced whether or not they're going to write books for them. James and Winter are no exception. I picked up on little things while reading Filthy Rich that caused me to start wondering what their backstory is. And after Raine announced Filthy Lies would be about this couple, I couldn't wait to dive in and see if anything I thought up for them would come true. Yeah, nothing I thought of is what happens. What Raine gives us is SO much better than anything I could have imagined. That is why she is the master storyteller and I need to stick to just being a faithful reader!

James and Winter have known each other for most of their lives. Winter is the little sister of James's best friend, Caleb, so that automatically puts her in the off limits category, right? Hopefully not, if Winter has anything to say about it.

Raine weaves a complex tale of two people who come from privilege and all its trappings, trying to break free of the constraints and expectations set for them and live their lives on their own terms. But demands from James's father has him moving in a direction he never thought would come to fruition. How does he carefully balance what his father is expecting from him with the wholly real feelings he has for Winter? And how does he reveal all of himself to her, without scaring her away?

Winter has an incredibly mature head on her shoulders for such a young lady. It is obvious that she has been raised to be independent and self sufficient, even though she has a huge inheritance waiting for her. An inheritance that she could put to good use in her chosen field of Social Work, if she didn't have to wait to turn 30 to get it. Or get married, whichever comes first...

The chemistry and passion between James and Winter is incredible. Their sexy times are oh so sexy! But they also have a shared respect for each other that has been there for as long as they can remember. Having the added benefit of being around each other all their lives and knowing everything (almost) about each other certainly is a benefit when it comes to knowing what the other's wants and needs are.

There's several twists and turns and revelations that cause a bumpy road that James and Winter have to travel to make it to their happily ever after and I admit I couldn't turn the pages fast enough to see if they were ever going to get there. A certain despicable character made me want to go a little ballistic on them with the things they said, and the actions they took, but they got their just desserts in the end.

I am blissfully happy with how Winter and James's story unfolded. I now have my eye on the next two characters from that world that I want to see a story written for. If you have been anything like me and have been craving a new Raine Miller book told in her beautifully classic storytelling, you will get your wish with this one! I can't wait for everyone to read it!!

A hot and sexy friends-to-lovers romance that is swoonily romantic with a beautifully heartfelt love story.

Winter Blackstone is the younger sister of Caleb from Filthy Rich, James Blakney is his best friend. Winter has been in love with James since she was 15 and he was 23 and now, 9 years later everything is about to change for them.

Winter is studying for her Masters in Social Work. She has a huge heart and wants so badly to help those who truly need it, and though she knows she can do good, she has to wait six years until she comes of age to claim her inheritance… unless she marries.

James is a corporate lawyer who is being forced into marriage by his controlling father. And the first person he thinks of is Winter. He has wanted her for years, he suspects he may even love her, but he’s a “kinky fucker” and figures that his desires run too dark for her sweetness so he has kept his distance… until now.

I could never be with Winter the way I wanted to be. I could never have her. Not how I’d dreamed of having her when my innermost fantasies took over within my twisted headspace.
Winter was too good.
She was too sweet.
She was just too perfectly innocent…for the likes of me.

It seems the perfect solution – a marriage of convenience to help both of them out. But they very quickly realise that nothing between them could ever be fake, and as they finally open up about their long-hidden feelings, all of that chemistry and UST explodes into a love that neither of them realised was possible.

“I thought we were just friends. That you only thought of me as your best friend’s little sister…
Haven’t thought of you like that for years, beautiful.

I love that this book just dives onto into the relationship with James and Winter already feeling so much for each other when we meet them. From the very beginning I was absolutely hooked and I didn’t feel like I was missing any build up at all. It was clear what they both felt, I felt it right along with them, and I loved the fantastic dynamic between them.

“You’re a saint, and I’m a sinner. There’s a huge difference between us, and don’t you ever forget it.”
She shook her head against me. “Not so different. And I’m definitely no saint, James.”

Oh fuck. Here we go. The gloves were being thrown down for the first time, and Winter was the one brave enough to go there. My dick started throbbing as I took in her words.
Oh, baby, you are fucking awesome.

And so freaking hot! Yes, James likes his kink, and there is talk of him frequently hitting up an underground sex club but nothing too nasty going on. Sexually, there is a bit of a D/s vibe, but it’s very tame, and restricted to the bedroom and Winter is naturally just as into it as James is. They are a perfect match in every way, and the sexy time is sizzling.

Bossy James was hotter than hell and slapped every sexual button. Hard.

The sexy time is balanced by the beautifully swoony love story as James and Winter go all-in with their hearts, holding nothing back, until secrets and betrayal unexpectedly threaten everything they have built together.

I loved this book. James and Winter are so fantastic together, and I loved watching their love story play out. There’s involvement from both of their families, which added a lot to the book, and I excited for the series to continue, and am hoping for a book for Lucas and Victoria soon!

4 stars!

I’m selective when it comes to choosing a favorite author and, like a large number of readers out there, Raine Miller is one of my automatic one-click authors. Whenever she publishes a new book, I know I’m in for a great story. She’s one of the authors I can easily recommend without having previewed her latest novel ahead of time.

Filthy Lies was exactly what I’ve come to expect from Raine Miller – a sexy romance, written with precision and another pair of fully developed characters that I can’t help but connect with. I often rate my 5 star reads based on how absorbed I become within the story. Filthy Lies rises to the level of one of my favorite reads of 2018 simply because I had trouble putting it down.

This second installment in the Blackstone Dynasty centers on Winter Blackstone, a young woman born into great wealth but determined to use her fortune to make lives better for those in crisis. She’s pursued a career in social work with dreams of opening her own private shelter. She yearns to work within her own set of bylaws, exercising her own discretion to award assistance to those most deserving. Winter is single and content on focusing on her studies and work, but also battles with her strong attraction to James Blakney, friend and attorney of her older brother, Caleb.

Winter fell in love with James when she was just 15 years old. Being 8 years older than Winter, James has always been that unattainable man. Now, that Winter is in her mid-twenties and living in the apartment underneath him, James is within closer reach than ever. Even so, James has avoided settling down with anyone since he was left at the altar five years ago. Only when his father makes an outrageous demand of James, does he begin to consider the possibilities of his future prospects and the woman who immediately rises to top of his mind is Winter Blackstone.

One of the strengths between Winter and James is the foundation of friendship these two have built over the better part of a decade. Having known each other since childhood, they are comfortable and supportive of one another. But their admiration and respect have also served as an obstacle of sorts. James, in particular, is wary of drawing Winter into a shadier side of his personality, but when they both finally let their guards down enough to reveal their mutual desires, the pull is instantaneous and irresistible. When the sexual chemistry between Winter and James finally ignites, Filthy Lies becomes an explosive read.

If you haven’t had the opportunity to read Raine Miller before, Filthy Lies is a really good place to begin. Don’t let the “Blackstone Dynasty II” frighten you away from what is an enthralling stand alone love story set within a family of outstanding characters.

(My review is for an ARC of Filthy Lies, Blackstone Dynasty II)

E bellissima la cover!

5.0 Star Review Filthy Lies (Blackstone Dynasty #2) by Raine Miller
Raine Miller’s writing style is effortless and she had me riveted to this book from start to finish. I cannot wait for the next book in the series. As with other books I have read by Ms. Miller, the story was brilliantly written, her characters were exceedingly well developed, not only James and Winter but her supporting characters as well.
Reading Filthy Lies was like coming home as I love the Blackstone family and Winter Blackstone was such a great character and James, well he is swoon worthy for sure. The story line was strong, with plenty of sizzling moments as their chemistry was off the charts along with sadly the harsh realities that life can deal us. Through it all Raine Miller wove a story of romance, love and determination and it is one that I will remember for a long time to come.
Winter has been in love with James since she was 15 years old when he swooped in to rescue her like a Knight in Shining Armour. James has lusted after (and loved) Winter for many years but as she is his best friend Caleb’s sister, to him she is of limits. That is until fate brings these two together and they embark on a journey which will test them and bring about great sadness and happiness and a love that will stand the test of time.
One click now, you won’t be disappointed.

3 'My beautiful Winter' Stars!

So.. I was pretty excited about this book, especially since I really enjoyed the first in the series (Filthy Rich) and other novels written by Raine Miller before. Yes, Filthy Lies was entertaining and I enjoyed it but it did not reach my expectations.

Yes, I felt the chemistry between James and Winter. I love a good "I loved you forever" kind of theme and that was very well developed and written here. But it took me almost a week to finish this book and that never happens if I am hooked to a story. I felt these two said too much too early and also took too much time to actually be together as a couple. Of course, I still enjoyed the building of the story, the charaters and their chemistry and that is why I am rating it with 3 stars. So, if you are curious to know how the love story between Winter and James develops, see for yourself and check the book out!
