Prior to reading this volume of critical essays on the podcast-Serial, I did not consider how the success of the podcast is due to many factors. In particular, I found that the authors discuss the elements of storytelling that’s Sarah Koening and her producers engage in order to create the desire for listeners to continue tuning in week by week. The authors discuss the true crime genre, ethics, race, psychoanalysis(Foucault and Laskan) , legal studies, etc... as they relate directly to the podca ...more
