4-1/2 Stars. I always find a new Haunted Vintage Mystery fun and entertaining! Book 6 raced me to the Kentucky Derby with Cookie Chanel, owner of a nifty vintage boutique. Along for the ride is a new ghost, Maureen, who owned some of the hats Cookie purchased for a customer. Also, the ghost of Ramon, a jockey who was supposed to be riding one of the Derby contenders suddenly appears and Cookie is asked to solve two murders. Luckily, her savvy and sassy #1 ghost friend, Charlotte, is always by Co ...more

The Haunted Vintage Mystery series is a fun, quirky cozy mystery series. Main character, Cookie Chanel, owns a vintage clothing store, It's Vintage, Y'all. Her best friend, Hannah, is the proud owner of an occult shop. It's a blessing she has a friend with knowledge of the spirit world because Cookie is a ghost-magnet. Not only that, but her grandmother's spirit now inhabits her pet cat. The cat passes messages to Cookie by moving a planchette around a Ouija board. The stories are fun to read. T ...more

Cookie Chanel, owns a vintage clothing store, "It's Vintage, Y'all". Her best friend, Heather owns the occult shop adjoining her building. Heather helps Cookie deal with the ghosts that seem to follow her around and need her help in the books. In the last book, we found out that Windsong, Cookie's cat, shares its body with the spirit of her grandmother. Windsong communicates with Cookie using a Ouija board and Tarot cards that Heather has to interpret. The stories are fun and once again Charlott ...more

Fantastic Mystery

Yet another incredible installment to this series I love. This time Cookie travels to Kentucky for the famous Derby to help with a go have wardrobe. If course Charlotte and Wind Song go with her as well as a new addition. What they don't expect is to get involved in a murder while they are there or for Dylan to show up. This makes for an interesting adventure as the story progresses yet we still get all the quirks that I do love about these books such as the tarot cards, Ouija b

If the Haunting Fits, Wear It is the fifth book in Rose Pressey’s Haunted Vintage Mystery series. There is excellent background information, which allows this book to be read as a stand-alone. This is an entertaining cozy paranormal mystery with well-developed characters, but the writing in this installment doesn’t flow as smoothly as the previous books in this series. Some of the details are off and some things are repeated more often than necessary, but since I’m reading an advance reader copy ...more
Rose Pressey's latest Haunted Vintage Mystery, If the Haunting Fits, Wear It, is as frothy as the artwork on the cover. Put together vintage clothing and several ghosts, and the reader heads off for Kentucky Derby Week with Cookie Chanel, the amateur sleuth.

Cookie, owner of a vintage clothing boutique in Georgia, has been asked to supply vintage hats and clothing advice to Danielle Elston during Kentucky Derby Week. She packs up two ghosts and her cat, who is actually her Grandma Pearl who slipp

Cookie has gone to Kentucky for the Derby as one of her good clients has a horse running and wants Cookie to be there to help her pick out clothes for all the events leading up to the races. Before she even gets there though she has picked up another ghost (Maureen) and whilst there yet another (the jockey Ramon), add in her boyfriend turning up, a creepy guesthouse and Ken the lawyer also turning up Cookie has her hands full!

Cookie goes to help her friend Danielle dress for the Kentucky Derby. She is at a swanky Derby party when she discovers a dead body. Of course the guy wants her to find his killer. So does the other ghost who has tagged along to Kentucky. Read and see if the killers are caught.

If the Haunting Fits, Wear It by Rose Pressey is the fifth book in A Haunted Vintage Mystery series. Cookie Chanel owns It’s Vintage Y’all in Sugar Creek, Georgia. Cookie is getting ready to go to the Kentucky Derby with her client, Danielle Elston (she is styling her outfits). Cookie is at an estate sale looking for hats and discovers Maureen Weber in the attic (and she is very protective of her hats). She needs Cookie’s help and now Cookie has two ghosts tagging along—just what she does not ne ...more

Stars: Overall: 5 Narration 4 Story 5

I have to admit that these are super-fun, occasionally twisty, always humorous stories that feature a vintage boutique owner who happens to be a bit of a ghost magnet, her cat who translates messages from the ‘other side’ via a Ouija board and plenty of fashion of the vintage style – well described, defined and detailed. In this installment, Cookie has been asked to provide hats for a society party in celebration of the Kentucky Derby. Cook

I love this series! I'm not usually into cozies with ghosts, but how can you not like Charlotte? She's a hoot and the perfect crime solving partner for Cookie Chanel.

Cookie and Charlotte are at the Kentucky Derby. Cookie is there to work as a stylist, Charlotte to brush ghostly shoulders with the rich and famous and then two becomes four. Maureen, a woman who needs help finding out who murdered her and why and Ramon, a recently deceased jockey who has ties to Cookie's client, Danielle creates a

If the Haunting Fits, Wear It by Rose Pressey was another enjoyable addition to her A Haunted Vintage Mystery series.

Cookie and Charlotte are off to the Kentucky Derby to help a client "dress" for the big events. Of course, Cookie, finds a dead body the first night there. We also get to meet not just one but two new ghosts who are both looking for justice. Dylan and Ken both show up to keep Cookie company while at the Derby which causes some problems for Cookie as she tries to juggle both men.

Nice cozy mystery.
Very entertaining and fast paced.
Loved the characters and how developed they were.
Note: I received an ARC for review purposes and an honest and unbiased opinion.

I was interested in seeing Cookie get out of town thinking it would perk up the series. Unfortunately, the derby elements and descriptions was really down played. The story was fairly typical with Cookie picking up the temporary ghost(s) du jour and having issues with the guys on her line.

There's no development, there is a bit of repetition and why does she refer to the cat by both her grandmother's name and a cat name (and we get told about both names more than once)? The two guys notice each o

Cookie Chanel has landed a plum gig - she’s attending the Kentucky Derby with her rich friend Danielle, and all she has to do is help Danielle choose outfits and hats. Because of this, she’s in the attic of a home recently purchased, and the owner said she could take whatever she wanted. Before she’s able to do so, however, she’s confronted by a ghost named Maureen who informs her that the hats belong to her and Cookie can’t have them. But after a confrontation with Cookie and her resident spiri ...more

I'll preface this by saying I've never read any other books by this author and I don't normally read these cozy "Saturday morning" mysteries. The reason I decided to read this one is because my boyfriend was shelving books at work and he texted me a picture of the cover and I thought it was ridiculous so I told him to check it out for me.

Cookie Chanel is a vintage fashion blogger, amateur sleuth, spiritual medium, etc. etc. etc. In this book you accompany her to the Kentucky Derby where she was

*** Possible Spoilers ***

This book is fluff and needs to be evaluated accordingly. On the cover is an endorsement from Janet Evanovich and it seems like the author was attempting to follow Ms. Evanovich's formula for success.

The heroine is a bit of a ditz who is surrounded by quirky characters. in this case the characters are ghosts. She has a feisty grandmother who happens to be dead and possessing the body of a cat. She has an arms-length mother who is supportive nonetheless and she has two bo

This is the 5th installment to the Haunted Vintage Mystery series, but can easily be read as a stand alone.

As per her usual, her ghost friend Charlotte, her grandmother in the cat's body, Wind Song, and general chaos and murder follow her right along. The Good: Another cozy adventure with Cookie and Co :) Cookie takes a big step in this book, toward the end, that I've been waiting several books for, and I sighed with relief when the moment happened. I've been back and forth between Ken and Dylan for about three books, but the last book made me feel that Dylan is the best fit for Cookie. I adore Ken, don't get me wrong, but I'm a Dylan fan :) Due to certain events, Dylan finally confronts Coo

Ghosts, cats, vintage fashion and The Kentucky Derby all combine for a whole lot of fun in this book. I have enjoyed the series where Cookie is now the PI for the dead who haunt her until she uncovers the villain behind their demises. The ghost of her first case has stuck around like a post mortem sidekick and her grandmother now shares the body of her cat, Wind Song, who is quite handy around a ouijia board. If this sounds amusing, you are right.

This is not my first Rose Pressey book. In fact, she is on the list of authors that I search for at the used book store. I really enjoy her Haunted Vintage Mystery Series, and was happy to review this book.

This is the fifth book in the series. This one was a bit of a departure, as we traveled with Cookie to Kentucky to see the Derby instead of hanging out in her Vintage Clothing shop in Georgia. We get to go to the fancy parties and hang out with the horses prior to the race. As most cozies tak
Cookie Chanel is on the road helping a client, Danielle, dress for the Kentucky Derby. While attending one of the parties, she discovers the dead body of Danielle's jockey, Ramon. Of course, his ghost starts following her around. He joins regular ghost Charlotte and another woman who had joined earlier in the book, Maureen.
Cookie decides to stick around to see if she can help solve Ramon's murder. While there, both of her beaus (Love-triangle alert! Seriously?) follow her and try to help out. N

The vibrant colors caught my eye and I'm just a huge fan of book covers, they tell a lot about the book and the author.
In this story, my favorite clothing fashionista, Cookie Chanel is at it again. Dressed in her vintage attire, it's time for the Kentucky Derby and everyone is excited.
