We live in such divisive times. This country is torn apart and is starting to implode under the weight of all that is taking place. This little book, 126 pages, is one of the best books I’ve read when it comes to Christians and our role in the life and health of our Country. So many Christians distance themselves from politics, that has to stop. It is time for the sons and daughters of God to stand up and begin the work of healing this country.
In this book, the author Dr. Tony Evans calls each of us to be a light in time of darkness. This book is a call to action for each Christian to begin to embrace the mind-set of a Kingdom Citizen - “a visible, verbal follower of Jesus Christ who consistently applies the principles of heaven to the concerns of the culture.” (pg 39)
I recommend this book to anyone that is concerned about the downward spiral we are on and wants to step out in faith to do something about it.

Are you a kingdom citizen? Do we really understand all it means to be a follower of Christ today? Do we blame political parties and other outside forces for the world's problems or are we ready to acknowledge that a watered down Church has more to do with it? Kingdom Citizen by Tony Evans is certain to make readers rethink their role.
Wow! What an intense thought-provoking and empowering book. I've never read anything from Evans before, but I'm determined to seek him out now. The author defines a kingdom citizen as "a visible, verbal follower of Jesus Christ who consistently applies the principals of heaven to the concerns of the culture." Perhaps I've strived for it in the past, but after reading Evans' book, I'm inspired to take up my role in earnest.
Don't misunderstand. This is not a book scolding you into submission like a child being forced into cleaning their room. This is a powerful, life-changing plan for transforming the country and the world. This is a plan to help a world in need.
At the end of Kingdom Citizen, readers will find an outline of the author's three-part plan for cultural transformation, prayers for America, discussion questions, and information regarding The Urban Alternative, which is an organization founded by the author.

Dr. Tony Evans is a man of godly wisdom. I enjoy hearing from by way of his books or videos. This book, which consists of five chapters that are packed with a punch. Dr. Evans offers hope in a world that seems to be shrouded in darkness. This book dives into politics and the craziness of the news. It gives biblical ways to offset the despair and violence in the world. Dr. Evans helps us see things as the prophet Nehemiah, Queen Esther and King David did. The book also includes prayers for our country and includes questions that can be used as a study guide.
Though I am not much of a fan of politics anymore, I must say I enjoyed this book. The book itself, not including the appendices, is less than 100 pages so its a quick read. I read this in 5 days, taking 1 chapter per day. I enjoyed the the prayers in the back and used the questions as a way to deepen my understanding of the book. Dr. Tony Evans knows how grasp the mind of the reader and apply biblical knowledge to things that are happening in our current times.
Enjoyable read and totally recommend it.

Decent little book calling American Christians back to original, biblical mission as the only way forward for the nation.

This is a tiny little book that packs a punch. There are so many things we want to waver on every day because our culture tells us we are unloving. Tony reminds us that pointing people away from God's truth and righteousness is hateful. It is not loving. I closed the book being reaffirmed to stand the ground that God has given us. Actually invite the kingdom and love according to God's word. May we be a kingdom people.
