Based on extensive research and scholarship, this book elucidates what constitutes communalism and how its growth were products of the Indian social, economic and political developments and conditions during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. It also provides solutions to this persistent and deep-rooted problem and necessitates bringing about a veritable cultural revolution in Indian society.
Communalism in Modern India is an important book and is a must-read, especially now that we're witnessing perfervid expressions of fanatic nationalism in our country.
