I'D Rather Be Ugly Than Stuppid: And Other Deep Thoughts
It has been said that Sam Venable is an ally and defender of the common sense of his readers. He doesn’t understand high-tech gizmos, the whims of fashion, government regulations, the corporate mindset, or other irritations of modern living. This collection of his newspaper columns focus on just those things – weird things people do, political incorrectness, food for thought on food, sports, high tech, and clothes. The cartoons of R. Daniel Proctor capture the mood of Sam’s words in delightful illustrations.

He's a local columnist in Knoxville close to where I live and his columns are a hilarious look at the everyday and the mundane. Every book (collection of columns) is well worth reading.

Some serious, but mostly tongue-in-cheek newspaper articles by author. Quite amusing.
