First, let me start of by saying I'm not much into werewolves, vampires or fantasy, but I'm glad I kept an open mind. Miss Fahey has an excellent writing style that is smooth and easy to read. I found myself really enjoying this book. The characters are well drawn and the plot is well developed. But what I most enjoyed were the twists. Many times I found myself saying: "Whoa, did not see that coming!" Great read. Way to go Jodi!

Teenager Casey has a rough life, often not fitting into the world around her and dealing with an amount of cruelty in her everyday routine that far surpasses what the average person must deal with. Somehow, in the midst of it all, she is swept away into a new world where she is important, strong, and riddled with powers.

The growth of the main character was such an overwhelming experience that I can’t wait to pick up book two. If you’re a fan of paranormal or fantasy, you’ll want to check out th

I'm not sure where to even start reviewing this book, because I'm having a very difficult time deciding how to rate it using the conventional 5-star system. I hate to leave a poor review, because I know they can be painful. They can be useful for new writers, however, when they are thus motivated to find ways to improve. It was a 3-star review that really got my attention and drove me to re-edit one of my books with regard to comma usage. Writers tend to be blind to their own work, making it dif ...more

I had heard about this book and was eager to read it. It sounded right up my alley with magic, werewolves, and vampires. Unfortunately, I had a hard time reading it. The plot has a lot of potential. Casey discovers that her life is a complete lie and that she is actually a queen of a coven. She learns that she must train for this position and then protect her coven. And of course, there is a group that is hellbent on keeping her from doing just that.

It sounded like a great story, but there were

Disappointed

I wanted to like this book. It started with a boring telling chapters for 20%. Then the plot about her being a sorcerer and a descendant was a one sentence explanation. The h was confused throughput the book and a non-believer of what she was supposed to be. I ended up flipping to the end just to see if the heroine got better. But not. She was still confused. She got turned into a vampire but yet she didn't understand why. This book had potential but too many things were introduced a

Casey is a wonderfully rich character that I thoroughly enjoyed reading about. After the epic story, I feel like we sure have been through a lot together and that she really was amazing in the face of such lifechanging events and news.

I loved that I got to watch her grow into what she was, as well as adjust to the idea of what she was. There were some sweet and not so sweet people who helped to shape her along that journey. Guardians and teachers who came out of secondary roles and turned into c

A Spellbinding Read You won't be able to put down - 5 Stars!

Letorian Descendants is a fantastic read that you won’t be able to put down until you finish it. It is absolutely thrilling and dramatic. The writing is superb and the scenes very descriptive and exciting.

We meet a young girl named Casey often called a “freak” by others and ostracized. Her life is quite traumatic with her father trying to kill the family by smashing their car from behind with his own vehicle. She then is attacked by an

From the get go I could tell that Jodi Ann Fahey was an amazing story teller. As a reader I was engaged in the story straight away from Page 1. The little details, observations the author included in her story made it all very real. The heart of the story is about Casey, through her, the author weaves a tale with wonderful characters and intrigue which will make you keep flipping the pages. I loved the friendship between Casey and Takota and their kibitzing and loyalty to each other was endearin ...more

Such a great start to the Casey Blane series. From the beginning, there’s action as Casey’s father tries to attack them in the vehicle. From that moment, I was sucked into her life and how she eventually managed to learn what her purpose was. The most frustrating thing was how each person thought it would be best not to disclose everything Casey wanted to know or in fact needs to know. The changes she faced were interesting as she fought to accept her place among the Letorians. I was thrown away ...more

If you like coming of age fantasy, you’re going to love Letorian Descendants. An ancient promise, vampires, werewolves, crazy enemies who turn into giant birds, you’ll meet them all in this book.

Casey, the main character, starts out as your typical alienated teen, but she quickly becomes so much more. Her adventure will grab you and not let go until the end. The action is frenetic with crazy plot twists and turns. I’m not one for spoilers, but there are several moments in this book where I went

The main character, Casey, is a loner at school and doesn't fit well with the family, who is raising her. Once Casey learns she's a sorceress, her life becomes complicated. With her powers comes the responsibility of protecting the Letorians. She embarks on a journey filled with magic, witchcraft, and shapeshifters. Casey encounters new enemies and friends. The readers feel for her as she matures with her role as protector of the Letorian coven.

Good Fantasy Read

The author tells a good story. I liked the way the story started out. It made me want to read farther. The reader is given Casey's background with her grandfather and the beginnings of her magic. I was really drawn in with the pool scene. I felt for Casey as she was bullied for being different. Fantasy fans will love this book. There are vampires, shape shifters, magic and even a little romance.

I loved the last line.

Casey has always felt like an outcast and awkward. With those feelings caused self doubt and loneliness, Casey goes through a journey to discover she is more and being special is mediocre because she’s magical. So many great lines in this story that touches the heart. No sex. Cute references. YA read. It’s all about the story and not just the gratification. Still love that last line. Melts the heart.

I am normally not a reader of this genre, but I did enjoy the book. I found the main character, Casey well presented as a teenager who is swept into a whole new life. There is magic, mind-reading, sorcery, and werewolves just to name a few elements. I did give it 4 stars because I found too many places where some editing needs to be done. All in all, a good read.

Worth reading! If you like magic and shifters, you will love this book. A fun urban fantasy story that will keep you glued to the page from the first to the last chapter. I’m intrigued by what the series hold.

Firstly, I really wanted to enjoy this book, unfortunately there were just too many issues for me to be able to that.
The story starts so slowly, molasses dripping slow, and continues in this manner for some time. While there are some twists and turns, these end up confusing you instead of drawing you in.
This book would benefit immensely from an editor going over it, with typos and wrong word substitution pulling you from the story. The characters felt flat and I had little, to no connection to
