Marriage is hard work. It’s even harder when your husband has to go out of town to murder people all the time. Spending so much time apart can wreak havoc on even the most solid of unions. It certainly doesn’t make it any easier when your wife becomes reckless with her kills, and you have to burn down a whole building to get rid of all the evidence so she won’t wind up behind bars. Stress is one of the biggest culprits of marital discord after all. It certainly doesn’t help matters, when you for ...more

Dead in The Water is the continuation of Kate and Jude's story that started in Water Under the Bridge. The first book was about how they met and in Dead in The Water we see how they live as a married couple and try to fit in as best as they can. I had no idea what to expect because killers are pretty unpredictable, at least Kate really was. Just like in the first book, Kate did things her own way and didn't really like to follow rules. S

Although the author says this book can be read as a standalone DON'T DO IT. In my opinion these books read to be read in order.

Water Under the Bridge is book one. In book one we read Jude and Kates story. Dead in the Water is a continuation of their story and what a story it is too. I found myself reading this in one day as I could not put it down.

Both are psychotic killers that believe they are doing good by killing bad people. I love the way their story went. I felt as if I was holding my br

3.5 stars!!!

“Most people either aren’t ready for the truth, or they can’t handle it. Truth can get you in trouble…”

Dead in the Water continues Jude and Kate’s story from Water Under the Bridge and I highly recommend reading that book first. Jude and Kate are simply…psychotic. Jude is a contract killer and Kate…well she just kills for fun. Kate needs murder to survive, to scratch the itch and I have to be honest and say I still haven’t c

Dead in the Water by Britney King is Book II of the series and seeing I was blown away by Water Under The Bridge, Book I, I was very excited to get my hands on this one. I love romantic suspense. Throw in some psychotic assassins trying to be ‘normal’ and I cannot resist. Britney did not let my down. In fact, she kept the surprises coming and I couldn’t stop reading.

Faking normality in suburbia.

Two assassins do their best to blend in with the ‘normal’ people.

Again written in this unique second person letter style I never thought I would enjoy comes this dark and twisted tale of married murderers attempting to live a normal life in the suburbs with kids and friends !! This is almost laughable if it wasn't so twisted. When a marriage of two killers is slowly going south there really is only one way to end it - kill the other - but who will be killing who ?? Jude knew that Kate would never be content as a mom/wife yet he was the one still doing the kil ...more

When I started reading Water Under The Bridge I didn't know if I was going to be able to read it because I can't usually follow stories in the second person narrative. But I sucked it up and read some more and found I could do it and I really enjoyed it. So as soon as I started reading Dead In The Water I was able to jump into it no problem. This was a great follow up to Water Under The Bridge. It continues a few years into their lives. And the conflict is amazing! I never would have thought tha ...more

Could life for/with Kate & Jude get any crazier you ask ??!!

Why yes , it definitely sure as hell can !

Dead in the water is the second book in The Water trilogy and follows the life of Kate and Jude as they try to 'blend' into normalcy like any married couple with two kids , a dog and a white picket fence can . Problem is , Kate still wants to kill people and Jude is still killing people as a part of his job. Kate tries , she really does try really really hard to be like all the other wives/m

They're back!

We met Kate and Jude in Water Under The Bridge. Jude is a contract killer and Kate kills whenever she wants to. They are totally different yet perfect for each other. Dead In The Water is the continuation of their story. We get to see their struggles as they try to fit in and be a normal family for the sake of their kids. Plus, the posibility that someone in their neighborhood knows their deep dark secrets.

This book, like with WUTB, is written in second person POV of Kate and Jude w

Dead In The Water by Britney King is the second installment in The Water Trilogy.
Dead In The Water picks up where Book one Water Under The Bridge ends up.

Jude is a hitman and Kate kills whenever she wants.
They struggle to be a "normal" family for the sake of their kids and neighbors.
Just like book one Dead In The Water is written in dual POV, Jude and Kates.
I loved the first book and waited to get my hands on this one. And I was not disappointed.

Wow…once again Britney King's sick, twisted mind ceases to amaze me!

Her unique writing style where she uses second person dual POV with internal monologue that took some time for me to get use to in book 1, Water Under the Bridge, had me completely mesmerized from page 1. Trapped in author's web where the sick, twisted-minded start to feel completely normal demonstrates how unbelievably talented this author is!

Written so it can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend starting with book 1,

You MUST read Water Under the Bridge (WUTB) first!!

Amazing continuation to WUTB! The story picks up right where WUTB left off and you get to read more of the dark, twisted world of Jude and Kate. Yes, Jude and Kate are assassins and kill people but there is so much more to them than just being a hired gun.

This story reminds me a little of Mr & Mrs Smith with Jude and Kate being assassins hiding in plain sight in Suburbia, USA.

Very well written story that I can't wait to re-read and continu

What an amazing 2nd book in this series, i thought the first was a brilliant book, but this one took it even further with so many twists, with mad maids to mental neighbours as well as the amazing chemistry between the main couple, a love hate relationship were murder is always possible, i loved this book and cant wait for more.

This story was Amazing! I loved reading book 2. Wow! Bravo! I was completely in awe of how this story went about. I literally did not want to put this book down. I met the characters in Water Under the Bridge and felt a little uncertain about the characters, but Dead in the Water brought them full circle for me and I have fallen in love with them.

This book continues after Water Under the Bridge. You'll need to read book 1 to understand what's really going on.

Again, this book is in 2nd person.. and can be hard to read at first but then you're glued to the pages.

In this installment the players are being played... but who's playing them?

Another great book in this series and I look forward to seeing what will happen next.

While Jude and Kate live in suburbia trying to fit in, someone knows their secret. With someone toying with them by sending them notes weather it be by one of their kills or a box that's sent to their children, Kate and Jude have much on their plate. Their marriage is falling apart, their having issues with their son, and the nanny is not as she seems. Will the two of them be able to fix their marriage and continue to kill people without getting caught? Another twisted story from this series yet ...more

Having fallen completely head over heels for these characters and this author with the first book in the series, I've been pretty much salivating over the thought of this book for months now. You'll be glad to know that it did not disappoint! I finished this one the same day I started it because I simply couldn't stop reading! And then I went back the next day and read it again just to make sure I didn't miss out on anything the first time. I am still incredibly impressed with Britney King's abi ...more

Boy did I Miss These Two!

With Water Under the Bridge, I wasn't an instant fan. Britney King's writing style threw me for a loop and it took me a few chapters to warm up to the book. This time around I was all in and Dead in the Water didn't disappoint at all.

"Some days with you it feels like trying to squeeze a hurricane into a bottle."

Kate and Jude are a mess to put it nicely and it's no surprise given thier backgrounds and/or occupation. As we left them in book one, things were falling apart

Jude and Kate are back with a bang, and boy have I missed them so much. That sounds strange right? I questioned myself many times throughout this story of how in the world did Ms. King make me fall in love with not one but two killers…but she has done it.

Jude and Kate are living in the peaceful little neighborhood trying to fit into the lifestyle and be completely different people than what they really are. On the outside, they seem perfect and loving, but on the inside there is a hunger in th

Dead in the Water by Britney King is a definite must read. It’s one I see myself reading again and again. There’s just something about Britney’s writing style that instantly pulls you in and I know I couldn’t stop reading once I started.
More than once I was hanging off the edge of my seat wondering what else could happen with Kate and Jude. I had so many questions and just when I thought things were alright, Britney would blow me away with another twist. Things are definitely not what they see

This is the continuation of the story of Kate and Jude. This is book 2 in the Water Trilogy. This book is for mature readers only due to graphic content. This book can be read as a stand alone but do yourself a favor and read book 1”Water Under The Bridge” first. You will not regret it.
In this book you see the chaos that surrounds Jude and Kate as they try to fit into the Suburbian lifestyle for the sake of their family. They never imagined things could get so complicated when they got married

I was looking forward to reading this after I had read the blurb, it sounded exciting and different. I mean a married couple - him being a contract killer and her who kills for fun, most definitely count me in!
However it did take me a while to get into. The dual pov and the writing style was different to what I usually read, it wasn't bad, just different. So for me it didn't flow as well as I would have liked. I kept getting the feeling that I had missed something, and I couldn't put my finger o

Dead in the Water - Britney King

### 4.5 Hashtags ###

Firstly this is book 2 and you do need to read the first book to understand this crazy couple. I have to say I actually loved this one more than the first, this series just gets better and better.

Nothing within this story is predictable - seriously anything can happen. This book is unique, twisted, addictive and wrong in such a great way. Jude, Kate and their dysfunctional family end up in the most interesting of situations.

I am so looking for

Dead in the Water is the second book in The Water Trilogy by Britney King. It’s written as a standalone featuring the same characters, but in different periods of their life. Even though it is not necessary, I do believe you will get the best experience by reading Water Under the Bridge, the first book, before this one.
Dead in the water is set ahead several years and Kate and Jude are as crazy, dark and insane as ever. They

Another Must Read by Britney King!
This is the sequel to Water Under the Bridge.
Jude and his wife are a very interesting yet controversial couple. Both are professional killers.
It's told in the second person. Each chapter alternates between Jude and Kate's pop.
I found very insightful. Also each time got more tidbits and minor details that their spouse doesn't know. Along with further background.
I was drawn in and had to keep reading. Then reading again. I loved

These are my Happily Ever After Novel Thoughts...

This book has a great plot and a lot going on. I really enjoyed it but it's narrative makes for a slower read and I'm not used to that.

The way Jude and Kate think blows my mind. And now they have children!! I can only imagine what the children think and it's a little terrifying.

When things in suburbia start rolling downhill, they inevitably pick up steam and bring everything with them.

At times it was a little hard to follow but once I was on tra

GAAAH Britney King has done it again! MIND BLOWN!!! King just has this way to have you so wrapped up into her world that she created, and she leaves you in awe and just whoa!
I really love the chemistry that Kate and Jude have as well. Their banter is epic and keeps you so engrossed in their story! You get a stronger feel for the characters as well, which I love, with flashbacks and more.
With so many twists and turns, this was one book that did not disappoint! I found myself enthralled with ever

Another amazingly well written novel by Britney King. It's every bit as dark, twisted and mind twisting as Water Under The Bridge...maybe even a little more since it continues Jude and Kate's story. I love how Dead In The Water picks up right where Water Under The Bridge ends, it's like one big book, no gap, no trying to figure out what happened. Britney's writing flows so seamless and so smooth you'll never realized this is book 2. If you enjoyed Water Under The Bridge and are looking for more ...more

Kate and Jude are back, and just as dark, and twisted as when we first met them. I do love that Dead in the Water picks up right where Water Under the Bridge left off, no guessing what was happening in-between books. It still took me time, just like in the first book to get use to the Monologue POV writing style.
Dead in the Water is fast paced, and suspenseful. It will keep you engaged to find out what this crazy couple will be up to next. I am looking forward to seeing if they are going to be a

Here we go! The continuation of Kate and Jude’s story is here! The twisted, cold couple is back after the events that played out in book one. These two are cold, unpredictable and are complete opposites. Kate is flighty and does things in the moment. Jude is in your face and predictable in his rules and patterns.

Dead in the Water is intriguing and unique. King writes in all internal monologues with chapters alternating between Jude and Kate. I love the in depth look into their twisted an
