Learn 26 yoga positions and a little geography at the same time. The positions all tie-in with the featured landmarks and the illustrations suggest how to achieve the appropriate position. 26 poses are a little lengthy for youngsters, but the variety is interesting and this will be a welcome supplement to yoga- and movement-based story times.
The alphabet takes you around the world, with each letter representing a different country, and the yoga poses are introduced in a fun way! The illustrations are beautiful, and my kids loved seeing where their next pose would take them! Teresa Anne Power really knows how to bring the joy and discovery of yoga to little children. The book is written through poetry, which my children enjoyed! This book shows that yoga can be done at any age, anywhere, and anytime!
My family and I love participating in Kids’ Yoga Day every year, which happens on the first Friday in April. Kids and their parents and teachers do the same quick routine as others all around the world. This book was written in honor of Kids’ Yoga Day. Each of the 26 yoga poses featured corresponds with a different country / region of the world, includes some fun facts about that country and teaches you how to say “hello” in that country’s language. Very informative and fun!
The ABCs of Yoga for Kids Around the World is helpful for learning yoga poses, as well as learning countries of the world and greetings in other languages. I would highly recommend this to parents looking for a fun way to teach their child about yoga and the world.
