A celebrity reporter is thrown into jail in some unknown location in Africa, presumably held by terrorists making a demand. But it appears that Tess has uncovered some secrets of her own, which will probably upend what most people categorise in their black-and-white-worlds of good vs. evil. Her only hope of escape, however, is an edgy, secretive soldier thrown into the same jail cell with her and until the truth emerges, it’s best that they stick together since escape is their end game.

A suspenseful edge-of-your-seat all-too-real thriller!

Gunfire cracked around them.
“Just warning shots,” he yelled.
“How do you know?”
“We’re not dead.”

Edge of Truth by Brynn Kelly was hands-down a must-read for me after I absolutely inhaled Brynn’s debut romantic thriller, Deception Island, last year. I was not disappointed. It doesn’t feel like it when you’re reading it, but the entire story takes place over just two days! It’s extremely fast-paced wi

It took me a while to read this book, not because it was bad or boring, but because I liked it so much and was enjoying the characters and all the research so much, I wanted to make the most of it.

Edge of Truth is *everything* I’ve been asking for in romantic suspense for years, all there in one book. I think some of the mixed reaction to it has been because it IS about the suspense, and the setting is everything; no random “terrorist-riddled non-American countr/>Edge

Couldn't put it down! Brynn Kelly really knows how to write a page-turner.

I have very mixed feelings about Brynn Kelly’s EDGE OF TRUTH. It wasn’t bad per se--not to the point where it was a DNF-- but I didn’t particularly enjoy it either. The description conjured up images of Formula One-paced action, but the reality was more grandma-driving-a-moped. For a book about a journalist captured by an African terrorist group whilst unmasking a massive political conspiracy who’s rescued from an Ethiopian prison by a French Foreign Legionnaire, the story is surprisin

Brynn Kelly certainly can write suspense. Wow, this book kept you sitting on the edge of your seat the entire ride. And boy, was it a wild one! Totally action packed with a hero who makes you sigh in appreciation and a gutsy heroine who never gives up and is totally worthy of the hero. This book just ran from dangerous scene to dangerous scene and I barely had time to breath. But when the main characters finally had a chance to explore their new feelings, bam, it was explosive. The chemistry bet ...more

Non-stop, breathtaking, explosive, deadly action mixed with an instant attraction that leads to a romance.

From the very start, the story put me on alert with the cruelty of the circumstances. Brynn Kelly writes action and battle scenes with a fierce edge and realistic consequences.
The abundance of constant action and long fight scenes had me holding my breath, and exhausted. At times it seemed a bit too much happening at once - like several pages were used to describe a minute of action - and

This entire book takes place over the course of two days. Lots of action and insta-love packed into those days.

Tess is an American journalist working on the story of her career in Africa when she is kidnapped and thrown into an underground cell by those she is trying to expose. When a soldier is thrown in with her, hope of escape flickers.

Flynn is hiding secrets of his own. He doesn’t trust Tess any more than she trusts him but they must work together to escape. Once they

Fast-paced, sexy, adventurous, thrilling.....these are some words to describe this new novel by Brynn Kelly.

The leading lady, Tess, is an American journalist who has been kidnapped and imprisoned in East Africa. Tess was on the brink of exposing a conspiracy that would shock Americans and bring down many of those in power.

Tess is joined in her cell/dungeon by the hunky, Flynn. Their escape and evasion from being captured is the basis of this novel which is set over only two days. ...more

Edge of Truth was a new author to me.

The book opens with Tess, she is being help prisoner and under constant threat of being executed every day; until, Flynn is thrown into the same prison with her.

How can two people, who both are on the cusp of death, find the resolve to survive? That's the start of the ride to survival for both Tess and Flynn.

I had a few heart stopping moments while reading. I plan on checking out other titles from Ms. Kelly.

Brynn Kelly is able to create a action packed story with a feisty female reporter who won't stop from getting her story out and a Alpha Male who wants nothing to do with her but survive. someone between being imprisoned together and saving each others lives they fall madly in love. Your traditional Harlequin romance story.

Yet this story standout in so many different way. The author is able to take an action pack story that many times feels like readers are on a roller coaster and ble

Wow! I simply could not put this book down. It was an adrenaline rush. Loved it from the opening pages. There's also a bonus story called "Forbidden River" which I thought was fantastic. Cody and Tia's story was a wild ride. If you're looking for a book with plenty of action, then you need to read this.

5 wild and unpredictable stars for EDGE OF TRUTH!

High-profile American TV journalist Tess Newell is certain that someone, anyone, will be searching for her after she's been kidnapped by a terrorist group in East Africa. When a French Foreign Legionnaire literally gets dropped into her hellhole, Tess is wary, but glad to have human contact again. Flynn doesn't mess around. After recovering for a few hours, he's busting them out of the underground dungeon and into that desert night, evading recap

Edge of Truth is a story that place over two days, so let me say that it packs a HUGE punch! Like hard to catch your breath, heart racing exciting punch! American Journalist, Tess Newell, is chasing a story in Africa when she's captured and thrown in a dungeon. She's being held hostage by the terrorist group that she's there to investigate, so it stands to reason that her story isn't going well at all at this point. Edge of Truth is the first novel I've read by Brynn Kelly, and what an amazing read it was--it gets 5 big stars from this reviewer.

Tess Newell, a renowned American television investigative journalist has been captured, tortured and imprisoned in a festering, stinking hole in the ground somewhere in East Africa--at least that's her best guess as to her location when she comes to after being drugged and kidnapped. She's been trapped there in almost complete darkness for the better part

First off, let me say this is not my normal genre; being a military/action/suspense/romance. It takes place in Somalia and I don't normally travel far from the US or Europe in my readings. So I went with an open mind, wondering where this new adventure in reading would take me.

This is a 400 page book that spans about two days. To say the book is riddled with action is an understatement.

Tess Newell, strong willed and devoted-to-the-cause American journalist, is about to bl

Thank you for a believable, smart, plucky, and stubborn female lead character!!! Thank you THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!

Thoughts and Plot

Obviously I've been on the receiving end of a lot of sub-par suspense romances due to main lead female characters literally doing a 360 from being rational, smart women to TSTL dumbos. Can't stand it. For about 3 pages in the middle of this book I had feared this may have come to pass, but fortuna/>

Tess and Flynn worked as a couple in the suspense portion of the book, the kidnapping, escaping, running and then trying to get the information to stop the terrorists...all of this was compelling and interesting.

But, I felt that there was not enough of them as a couple when no one was shooting at them. Their first encounter is in the midst of fighting, and running, from their kidnappers and you expect this from a rom

Tess Newell is a renowned journalist who has stumbled on the story of the year - its such a good story that it has landed her in a Somalia holding cell captured by a terrorist who is behind the killing of her crew. She ends up being joined by Flynn a French legionnaire who has his own demons and story that he needs to keep from Tess. Though once their lives have been thrown together, no matter how hard they try to break apart from each other the closer they become. Much to both Tess and Flynn's ...more

It is definitely interesting to read a title from Brynn Kelly. She knows how to keep reader attention from the beginning. She brings suspense plotline that it keeps the reader on their toes.

I was not familiar with this author at all, but the description pulled my interest. I'm so glad I gave it a try. I loved it more than I thought I would. French Legionnaires were a new and interesting reading experience for me. This story was sexy and a constant source of action. This book was ok. Tess is a big time reporter who was captured while trying to do a story. She was thrown into a pit and tortured. They keep making her think she is going to be executed but then they throw someone else down there with her. Flynn is a soldier. He was captured and doesn't know what happened to his group. I really liked Flynn. Neither he or Tess have any reason to trust the other but they must to escape.

Once they are out, Tess becomes a bit much to deal with. I never wo

I was excited to start Edge of Truth by (new to me author) Brynn Kelly as I love action/suspense with a dash of romance. That is exactly what we got with this one. This book was an exhilarating and a "keep you on the edge of your seat" romance. I could not get enough!

The pace was perfect and the author just get it all right in terms of when things happen, there certainly is no time wasting here. I love it when the story just flows and you are racing toward something big, and Brynn does not disappoint. We run towards and ending that is quiet explosive.
