From FIFA World Cup Champion, Olympic gold medalist, and bestselling author Alex Morgan comes the seventh book in an empowering and fun-filled middle grade series that inspired the Amazon original series, The Kicks !
It’s spring, and school soccer season is back—and so are the Kicks! Devin is excited to be reunited with her teammates, and after they performed so well in the fall, she has high hopes for a championship win this time around.
But it was easier being on the Kicks when nobody expected them to win. Now there are high expectations, and some of Devin’s teammates are worried about living up to them. As the start of the season approaches, the girls begin to feel the pressure.
Will the Kicks get their heads in the game in time to start the season right?

An American Soccer Player (Forward/Striker) and an Olympic Medalist. Drafted first in the 2011 WPS Draft by the Western New York Flash. And now plays with the Portland Thorns FC.
The kicks are finally back together! The spring season is starting at the girls are feeling the pressure of living up to the town's expectations. I would love to get this story from the parents' perspectives. It's a middle school soccer team and they're acting like the town revolves around their wins and losses, but as a middle schooler I could see how it would feel that way. Anywho, Devin's grandparents come to visit and that just adds another level of pressure. The Kicks do go on to beat the panthers in their first game (despite losing both pre season scrimmages) and they realize that when they let go of the anxiety, its all good.

Devin is scared of the new girl, Haley. Devin thinks that Haley is better then her. While doing parkour on a run, Devin pulled a muscle, which prevented her from practicing.
Luckily, she got better and scored two goals at their first game. This was great because the entire town came to their first game.
I love the Kicks’ series. I always read the books when I need a break from the big book I’m reading. The books are fun and short. They talk a lot about soccer.
