I wasn't overly keen on the way the book was written it seemed to jump around a lot without a flowing route.....
For an example of what i mean when watching a film or tv series... one scene the characters are baking cookies then it skips forward a few days or so... It works in TV not so much in books without an explanation at least....
Still it wasn't a bad read im pulling a 2.5... Probs wont read by this author again.... the writing style not for me. ...more

Five platypires for Flirty Thirty!
It's been so long since I've read a Cassie Mae book, I almost forgot why she is one of my favorite authors. But then this ARC showed up in my inbox, to remind me. As soon as I started reading, the rest of the world disappeared. Okay, it didn't disappear, but it definitely got neglected. ALL DAY. I devoured this book. And it was glorious. Or well, I thought it was glorious. The hubby ate ramen by himself, so he probably doesn't love this book quite as much as me, ...more

I downloaded this as part of free Kindle e-book offered.
This book, even though is considered a full fledged novel, feels so Hallmark, that I am figuring out whether I should give it between 1 or 2 stars. I did not enjoy it as expected.
I think the commitment guy (aka the hero), seemed scary with propositions of a house, wife and kids during the first few chapters. It's just, the hero just becomes dreamy till the end of the book, that I could not find a fault in him. Maybe that's what makes this b ...more

Didn’t make the cut
I’m sorry to say.
From the overachieving writing to the annoying insta love not to mention this is a book that would not pass the Bechdel test, everything in this book falls short.
It doesn’t help that the story was predictable as predictable can be, which made me care very little whether or not the main couple ended up together, and that her self deprecating body issues, along with how everything aroused her (I mean it, it’s beyond ridiculous), made her a very unlikeable charac ...more

Who says that fate doesn't bring two people together under the most unusual circumstances at times? This cute little comical romance made me believe in fate and how opposites attract. I love how strong and completely independent Maya is, until she meets Cooper in the most unlikely way (unless it's in a novel). She and Cooper ended up with a hot and steam romance, but she doesn't lose herself and she shows that everyone needs, wants, and deserves romantic love.

I'm not sure how I'm going to write my thoughts about this book without the spoilers. It's quite rare for me to give a five-star rating these days but for me, this book deserved it.
Cassie Mae has always been able to give her readers those laugh out loud and awww moments, and this book certainly has lots of them. Why did I like it? Probably because I can relate with the Maya's initial view about her life, and perhaps at one point, I had the same reasoning too...then I started thinking of what-if ...more

Ok so let me begin by saying I honestly have not read a book in about 10 years I’ve struggled like crazy to get into a book. The other day I was looking at the books app on my iPhone and I saw that there were a tonne of free books that looked fun. So I downloaded a bunch and decided to start with flirty thirty! And omg I loved it I was so caught up with the whole thing it took me almost 3 evenings but I looooooved it!!! I can’t believe how easy I found to read it and to really get into it. It’s

How had I not discovered this author sooner???! Wow. This was such a refreshing read! I loved that Maya was headstrong and independent, in control of her life and absolutely knew what she wanted out of it. However, she never expected Cooper (and neither did I). What a man! He had me totally swooning from the very first moment on the street. Almost every word he uttered was delicious and he had me wanting so much more!

Lame. That is all. Okay, that's not all. I just expected there to be more of a plot than just the attraction between the two main characters. Even the problem that happens towards the end of the book seems contrived and obvious.

I've been reading the books I got for free in amazon lately. I'm aiming to at least clear out some of my ebooks on my kindle. I know I should be reading my ARCs instead so I won't cram but I'm enjoying reading romance nowadays.😅
What caught my interest about this book is the age on the title. I'm 30 and I thought I might relate more on the story because I'm at the same stage as the characters. Unfortunately, I did not connect with Maya. Cooper is dreamy but too good to be true. ...more

Maya just celebrated her thirtieth birthday... with a kiss from the handsome stranger while checking her mail. It turns out that her handsome stranger is Cooper, a very wealthy man. He happens to need a realtor, which Maya is. They get to talk and he finds out that she's not interested in marriage and decides to see if she will be "married" to him while he's house-sitting a mansion. Maya considers it and wants to say no. But she's tempted and decides to take Cooper up on his offer, as long as he

3.5 stars -- I received a free copy from the author in exchange for an honest and unbiased review/opinion.
I know, I know, you are all shocked. A 3.5 star for my favourite author. But not every story fits every reader, and this one just didn't quite work for me.
I think in the end parts of the story just hit a little too close to home with Maya not wanting to have children (although she doesn't not want them like I don't want them), and I was missing a few t ...more

Wow...what a hard review to write without giving away spoilers. In advance i'm sorry if some of this doesn't make sense but maybe it will when you have the pleasure of reading the story. This is another of Cassie Mae's book that i can seriously relate to and I loved every second of reading it. There may be a small spoiler so just be aware.

4.5 stars for Flirty Thirty by Cassie Mae. This is book 1 in the Nerdy Thirties series. I am loving this series so far. Maya just turned 30. She has no desire to get married or have children. Copper is a billionaire who is ready to settle down. He wants a wife and kids. When he sees Maya he is instantly attracted to her. He also says whatever is on his mind and while it bugs most people Maya likes it. Will Copper convince Maya to changer her views on marriage and children. I absolutely loved Cop

After reading a different book by a different author where the spelling and grammar and typos made it extraordinarily difficult to read, I've become a lot more careful about looking at reviews and looking for those comments specifically. This book had several of those, but the idea behind it was so interesting to me I decided to take a chance. I'm glad I did.

This is a fun romance, but it is a bit too unrealistic for me. After all, how likely is it that a billionaire would just happen to jog by her house every day, stop to kiss her, hire her as his realtor, and fall for her? It was fun, and Cooper was a swoon-worthy H, but just so unbelievable.
But if you don't mind the fantasy, and just want to read a fun romance (with some steamy scenes), this is a good choice. It gets 3.5 stars from me, rounded down to 3 stars.
My rating system is below.

Smitten by the hunky, sweet leading man
She's an average, self-conscious about her weight, funny woman. She's hard working, independent, and loves her cats, family, and friends.
He's an amazingly hot billionaire with a sadistic, controlling side that he hides by calling it BDSM.
Wait. That's not this book. It's so many other books that the idea is a grey blur of growling, snarling, angry leading men. But not here.
And that's why I want to read everything this author's written now.

It did take me some time to get used to the narration style, which occasionally I found to be trying too hard to be funny/amusing/entertaining - together with the plot and the characteristics of the protagonists, it just did not seem to fit all the time.
The plot: two people in their early thirties, one of them keen for marriage and children, the other one not so, meet and decide to discover the chemistry between them.
The development of this plot, the slow way in which those two decide that appa ...more

Book-Challenge 2021: Book 12
Ok, while reading this one I didn't get the big, great feels. There wasn't much anticipation for what happens next, or much swooning over our hero (even though he was a sweetheart), or total and constant rooting for our heroine.
But you know what I really liked about it? We've got a heroine, which isn't a small size and is totally ok with it. Yes, she gets bouts of insecruities sometimes, but who doesn't? She's ok with her body and her life and it would have been fine ...more

I actually really enjoyed this one and found myself reading it in a couple of days. It was fun, well-written and an easy read.
Cooper is a really nice character. Very honest (to the point where others dislike him for his bluntness) but overall he is a good guy. I enjoyed getting to know him.
Maya is not such a nice character. She starts out a bit on the selfish side - wanting to live for herself, make her own choices and have a carefree, not-stuck-with-anyone life. We see her change a lot as the b ...more

2.5?
Idea's fine, but it missed for me. The characters were fine, but they missed for me. The characters issues were OK, but again, it all missed being pulled off for me. The twist just seemed a bit drama-llama and finished my already sinking feeling. The surrounding characters and issues gave me impression that they had had previous books, but this is book one.

I have to say I was about 30-49 pages in before I really gave this book a chance. It was free and I needed some good chick lit to take my mind off my horrendous work weeks. I really thought the author was going to give me the same flat characters I keep seeing.
But NO. To my surprise, they were decently well rounded, relationships, and their downfalls (and not just the main characters) were pretty decently explored. I have never felt closer to a female character describing how they go about rela ...more
