Harper is back for another season of Fantasy Football and she is ready to go all the way! She is researching each player, and is determined to get the team of her football dreams! She has picked the team of the season (in her mind) but her relationship with Brook isn't quite what dreams are made of these days!

When an unexpected health issue plagues the head coach, Brooks steps up and takes on the responsibility. Harper doesn't know what it entails to be a coaches girlfriend, all the practices, t

This is the second book in the Queen of the League series by Laura Chapman and the story keeps getting better! I can so relate to Harper and the addicting feeling of being the surprise underdog in a man's activity (fantasy football for Harper, March Madness for me) and the anxiety for the next year's challenge. Throw in some relationship dilemmas and you got yourself a great chicklit novel! Couldn't put this book down - finished in 1 day! I want Harper's life!

I was given a copy of the book in e

Whispering Stories
Since we last left off in ‘First and Goal,’ the two main characters, Harper Duquaine and Brook MacLaughlin, have moved in together.

They are loved up and their lives seemed perfect. This all starts to change when Brook’s boss, the football coach at the school, is diagnosed with cancer.

Brook temporarily takes on the Coach’s role, whilst the coach undergoes treatment. Shaken up by the devastating news, Brook puts his all into his new role, meaning he is spending less time at home – and less time wi

I love football, especially Nebraska football. I love reading chick-lit. And I love Laura’s Queen of the League series which combines both of these things! And I am learning more about fantasy football with every book she writes.

There is enough football woven into this story to keep me pumped for football, even though the season is over for us. There is high school, college, and pro ball all rolled up together in this grand adventure. And there is plenty of relationship ups and downs to keep me

It’s not often I enjoy a sequel just as much, if not more, than it’s predecessor. That has been my M.O. with not only books, but movies, too. I can honestly say I enjoyed Going For Two even more than First and Goal- and let me tell you, that’s saying a lot, because I thoroughly enjoyed First and Goal!

I really get a kick out of Harper Duquaine. Although she’s what many men would categorize as a “guy’s gal”, on the flip side of that, she’s got a soft feminine side to her that is easily relatable t

Going for Two is the second book in the Queen of the League series by Laura Chapman. If you need another classic example of why I love Chapman’s writing, then you’ve got it right here. Her writing is clever, witty and downright entertaining.

In the second novel we continue Brook and Harper’s story. At this point in time, their relationship has progr

A few yers ago I had read Hard Hats and Doormats, I liked it a lot and I was curious to read more of this author. I love books that mix romance and sports so I really enjoyed this one. The plot is original and funny and Harper and Brook are really great characters.
Harper continues to play Fantasy Football. She has a stable and happy relationship with Brook. But their equilibrium is upset when he is proposed to make the coach. He is always busy and also Haper has much work to do. She would like t

Lovely second installment for this series. The relationship between Harper and Brook progresses. These two had many obstacles thrown into the mix in this story and it's a nail biting race to the finish for all our favorites. 4.5/5 stars. Would love a bit more romance between these great characters.

Although part of a series, Going For Two can be listened to as a standalone audiobook. I loved this story and Harper and Brook. The narration was excellent and I was engaged from the first chapter. I appreciated the humor and the many football metaphors. A fun listen! I would recommend this audiobook.

I was voluntarily provided this review copy audiobook at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator. This review is my honest opinion.

If you told me I'd love a book about Fantasy Football, I probably wouldn't have believed you. But, I loved Laura Chapman's The Marrying Type, which I reviewed previously, so I wanted to give First and Goal, and it's sequel Going for Two, a shot - and I was happy I did!

In this series, Harper Duquaine joins her workmates' Fantasy Football league as a way to make friends in her new job, and ends up with a boyfriend, a best friend, and a life she loves. Harper's character is sweet, and relatable - a

At the end of Book #1 it seemed that Harper and her boyfriend Brook were settling into a nice routine with his league career and her work and of course her newfound love of fantasy football. It seems though in Book #2 Going For Two her happiness and relationship and everything that she has built up will be rocked to the core as her husband Brook gets a new promotion as Head Football Coach which is a huge deal as he will be taking the team to the Nationals, but it means that their relationship ti ...more

This is the second book in the 'Queen of the League' series. I liked this series and am looking forward to reading the third installment. These books are good to read if you're in the mood for a light-hearted comedy that weaves in a bit of young romance. I enjoyed the main character, Harper, and felt that I would relate to her witty outlook on life; from more serious issues to fleeting thoughts (like her Todd Northwood fantasy dreams!). I surely recommend these books to anyone interested in 'chi ...more
