Moonlight Over Manhattan surprised me in a couple of ways. They were really wonderful surprises, and I hope others will be as happily impressed and surprised as I was.

Firstly, Carrie Turansky's sweet writing style translated well to a contemporary setting. I've only read a few of her historical books prior to this one, so I was nervous about whether or not that same style I'm used to seeing from her would be present and just as amazing. Some authors really struggle to retain t

Man, why couldn't he have cut his hair?

This was a super easy-fun-slightly Christmasy read and I really liked it! It also felt like a Hallmark movie.

I really liked Justin (Sarah, not so much at the beginning, but by the end, I liked her!)… Justin would be even better, however, if he would have cut his hair - hence the first statement I made! I don't know why the man on the cover has short hair when Justin does not..

Lillian was a lot of fun!!! And even though he was in there a little bit, Justin's

Professional Organizer.
I’m pretty sure my mom needs that title.
I also know people who need to hire one.
Not me, I’d be the Professional Organizer’s assistant.

Like every Carrie Turansky book I’ve read, there’s ton of faith content & it’s super clean and safe for teens to read. I was so giggly while reading this book, there was so many (minor) misunderstands that made for a fun(ny) read. Ahh, such a sweet Christmas read. :)

Sweet read to enjoy during the Thanksgiving holiday, since part of the story takes place during Thanksgiving and continues on into the Christmas season. Nice spiritual theme of allowing our trust in God to erase the fears we have in life.
Professional organizer Sarah Montgomery is hired to organize her elderly neighbor’s cluttered apartment by Justin Latimer, her neighbor’s grandson. Sarah believes free-spirited Justin is a lazy, unemployed poet who is taking advantage of his grandmother’s generosity. Though attracted to him, she guards her heart against her growing feelings. As Sarah and Justin work together to help his grandmother and enjoy Christmas events in NYC, romantic sparks fly. When Sarah discovers who Justin really is, ...more

This sweet novella really put me in the mood for Christmas (and Thanksgiving, for that matter, as that holiday is also a big part of the story). Set in New York City, Moonlight Over Manhattan had a great, big-city feel, but emphasised the importance of family, friends, and trust in God. It also touched on the truth that appearances can be deceiving.

Sarah and Justin were definitely opposites in some ways, and I wondered how they were going to work through their misunderstandings. Both characters

Carrie Turansky has such a way with words that she can take a novella and make it read like a bestseller. To me this book is a perfect example of why we should never judge someone and make assumptions without keeping the lines of communication open. Faith is an important part of the characters and learning to trust His plan for their lives.Sarah has material things, but a family that isn't there and Justin seems poverty stricken, but all is not as it seems. This book centers around the Holiday s ...more

Wow! This might have been the most perfect of novellas I have ever read! All of these were just right:
interesting story line, likable characters, unusual and practical occupations, satisfying conflict resolution, applying faith in a practical way, and length! Sarah is a professional organizer and meets Justin, who is also helping with his hospitalized grandmother. Check it out!

I loved it. A sweet romance.
Carrie Turansky has crafted a fun, sweet, and enjoyable holiday novella that readers will thoroughly enjoy. This novella shares the spirit of the season as Sarah and Justin quickly become friends and fall in love. But love is not always so simple and they will both have to fight to overcome misunderstandings in order to be together. I would recommend this novella to readers that are ready to get in the holiday spirit, both Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Opposites attract in this story of loss and grief, misjudgment, and abiding faith. I enjoyed the beauty of Christmas in New York City. Professional organizer, Sarah Montgomery is organized, efficient, and driven to secure her dreams of the future. She is not impressed by Justin Latimer. “She wants to date someone with a strong work ethic and a well-established career.” This book is filled with sweet scenes, deep, insightful conversations, and an exploration of faith and self. I especially loved ...more

Overcoming Fear with Faith

I've heard great things about Carrie's books in the past, but this is this first book I've read by her. It most likely won't be my last!
This is a heartwarming story about two souls finding love and God's plan for their lives. It's about family and overcoming fears with faith. I would definitely recommend it if you enjoy sweet, clean, God-honoring books!

Moonlight Over Manhattan is an engaging novella by Carrie Turansky. Sarah is a professional organizer who seems unable to commit herself to a romantic relationship. Then she bumps into the neighbor's very good-looking grandson, Justin. Embers of love begin to flame and yet suspicions and fears have a hold on Sarah's emotions. Can she overcome the fears and give into the growing attraction for a "song-writing, Bible quoting poet"? Will she find the strength to follow God and trust Him with her fu ...more

A sweet story of love, trust and faith. When Sarah's neighbor is taken to the hospital, Sarah agrees to take care of their dog. Justin, the grandson of the neighbor, also comes to help. While organizing the apartment, Sarah and Justin become friends. She thinks he is taking advantage of his grandmother, but, is he? The truth is revealed as the two become friends and maybe even more. This story reminds us that we should not be quick to judge others. I enjoyed this story very much. I received a co ...more

Charming love story

I've read many of Carrie's historical books and loved them. This reminded me of why I started following her! Well written with defined characters and a problem that wasn't too big to work out. Lovely story!

This was a fun romance novella. The main character becomes involved with helping her elderly neighbor organize her home after losing her spouse. Turns out the neighbor is grandma to an attractive man. I enjoyed it.

"Moonlight Over Manhattan" was truly wonderful and I enjoyed every moment of reading it. This was my first story written by Carrie Turansky and I was fascinated by her writing style. Throughout this story-line, we found a remarkable amount of Christian Characteristics and the way that God can work in the most unrealistic situations with a miraculous outcome.

I truly do recommend this story, it was wonderful from the beginning until the very end.

Sweet, easy read novella. I thought the story was ending too quickly and then I realized it was a novella. For a shorter story, it had good character development and was just right for by before sleep reading.
