I'll be reviewing this one story at a time.

September 28, 2016: Starting with Lyn Cote and her story Mistletoe and Sage. I was given a free copy of Mistletoe and Sage by Lyn in return for my honest review. But I bought the whole set as soon as it was available.

Mistletoe and Sage is a novella continuation of Lyn's Northern Intrigue set. It was fun to get a sneak peek at a couple of those characters. And seeing Sage and Garrett get to know and fall for each other was fun. They work together to solve a vandalism crime. Throw in little Tucker and Molly the dog and you've got a winner.

September 29: Just finished A London Christmas by Roxanne Rustand. Loved it. Online dating gone crazy. Very cute story!!!

September 29: Christmas Eve Wedding was a cute story about awkward high school moments and facing them again. I've not read anything by Cindy Flores Martinez before.

September 30: Christmas Holly by Christine Bush was great. Holly, a workaholic, finds herself of a quiet island taking care of her sisters rescue animals. Sam, the neighbor next door, is stealing healing from losing his wife. Between the crazy animals, Sam's rambunctious triplets and the other island citizens, Holly and Sam come to a better, healed spot in their lives. This story was very sweet!

October 1: Falling For You At Christmas by Kristin Wallace. This story was sweet but also a little comical with all the "coincidences" of the names of people involved in the story. Enjoyed it.

October 4: On Christmas Eve is a story of love that's lasted through the years. A misunderstanding ended their engagement 5 years ago. Now, someone wants them back together. Great story.

October 14: Denise Devine' A Merry Little Christmas was extremely sweet!!!
I've never read anything by her before. Well written, heartwarming and entertaining all at the same time.

October 15: The Christmas Gift by Raine English is a short and sweet story. Doggies and old love renewed.

October 19: Untangling Christmas was a great story. Quirky characters (including Fred and Ginger) who were so easy to love.

I was given an ARC copy of Candleglow and Mistletoe by Josie Riviera to read for my honest review. I loved it! A great Christmas romance story.
Noelle who comes running to the town of Snowing Rock after she messes up a pianist concert with her ex Colin. She is going to stay at Aunt Joy's cottage and help in the candle shop for her aunt while she is in physical therapy. Noelle plans to practice a lot and prove to Colin she is not a failure.
Gabe the stuntman who risks his life meets Noelle and there is an instant attraction. Read the story to see how it all turns out. Looking forward to reading the other stories in the book.

I'm still reading this, I apologize because I'm also reading 10 other books at the moment and slitting this in between them and work, so I have written reviews on each of the stories within the collection that I have read so far, as soon as I've fully finished, I will post the rest of the review up.

On Christmas Eve - Holiday Babies series - Mona Risk

While Tiffany is rushing to get to her sisters wedding, she has a minor accident, she ca t believe how unlucky she is, and it gets worse when the person knocks on her car dar, it's her ex fiancé, Matthew. Matthew can't believe his luck, for five long years he's longed to get the chance to explain the misunderstanding that led to Tiffany leaving him. Fate is not so kind to Tiffany, Matthew is at her sisters wedding, and worse he has two little girls calling him Daddy, this man just keeps breaking her heart. When Matthew finally gets to explain it all, he thinks she will be happy, but after one kiss, Tiffany's plans for her future, and her running again, he realizes he can't risk his girls hearts been broken too. But fate and one very pushy person refuse to let it be.
This was a beautifully written story that had my heart aching for both Matthew and Tiffany. Mona did a fantastic job of portraying two broken people trying to find happiness.

Christmas Holly - Christine Bush

Holly is suddenly jobless and looking after her sister Aggies 3 dogs, 2 cats and a bird that has attitude. What has happened to her executive style life? How can she cope. Her first night house sitting she licks herself out of the house and goes to the only other house with lights, she is met by three gorgeous kids and an extremely hot man in just a towel. Sam is shocked by this beauty at his door so much like his good friend and neighbor Aggie, but also so different. It's not long before the small town grapevine lets Holly know that Sam is a widower, her heart aches for his loss. Over the coming weeks they bond over loss and growing past that. Now they both must face that they have become attracted to each other and what that means when Aggie will eventually come
Home and Holly have to leave.
This was such a beautiful story, it had so many practical truths in it that help you get through life. It was a great story about love and healing. This was the first story by Christine that I have read, but I can't wait to read more.

Mistletoe and Sage - Lyn Cote

Sage has come home to start her career as a deputy after the tragic death of her husband. She can't get over the way the new Deputy Garrett is effecting her. Garrett has left Iowa after his fiancé dumped him before their wedding, he has moved to Steadfast Wisconsin to help him heal and move on with is life.
I really enjoyed this story, my only negative thought about this is I want more, I'm hoping her next book in this series gives me closure.

A Merry Little Christmas- Denise Devine

Merry is a single mum, divorced from her in-prisoned ex husband Adrian after he embezzled over one million dollars, people have assumed she knows where the money is hidden, and so she has been ostracized by the community. Tony is a widower, his wife and child killed in an accident, his sister and brother in law Neal where conned out of one million dollars by Adrian. Neal arranges for Tony to buy the deed to Merry's house so that he can look into her and see where the money is hidden. Toby soon discovers that Merry is as honest as they come, and is instantly drawn to her, wanting to help her anyway he can.
This was a great story, I enjoyed the way Merry and Tony had to both look into their hearts and see what was blocking them and heal themselves before they could be happy. A great story about the importance of being honest and truthful, a great read.

The Christmas Gift - Raine English

Riley has come back home after her relationship with Derek ended, she lost her boyfriend, but worst of all she lost her beloved St Bernard behind as well. Riley's not sure what she's going to do for a job, while she waits to start up her own business, and is contemplating this when there's a knock at her door, the man she thought she would've married, Mason, but he wasn't able to commit and she had left to be with Derek. Mason hasn't come alone, he's delivering her a French Bulldog named Bodie, and he looks great, and he's actually matured enough to run his own business. Mason has conspired with Riley's sister Taylor to orchestrate everything, including Taylor offering Riley a job working for Mason. Seeing her again reminds him she was the only woman for him, it had been devastating last time they broke up, if he lost her again he just may never recover.
This was a sweet short story, I really enjoyed the characters

Untangling Christmas - Shanna Hatfield

Taylor and Mike have both come from relationships that tore their hearts apart, both vowing to never love again, but everyone they know are sure they belong together. Both have decided that they will will until the festivities of Christmas and the new year are over and then will end what's going on between them. When Taylor tells Mike her story of why she can't be with him, he then tells her his story of why he can't be with her. They decide to end what they have then and there, but despite their words, and promises both are unhappy.

I really enjoyed the story, it was sweet and romantic, but also sad that neither thought they could ever find someone to live them the way they wanted or needed to be loved. I must admit I wish I could find myself a Mike.

A Miracle Mountain Christmas - Ciara Knight

Savannah lost everything seven years ago, her sister, then her boyfriend Mason, then her parents left, all she has is the GG's, and those three ladies are trouble. When Mason arrives at Miracle Mountain, the pain she feels is incredible, the loss again of the man who hadn't loved her enough to stay. Mason has only ever loved Savannah, oh he tried to move on, but he couldn't. He thought that after being accused of her sisters murder, the best thing was to move away, to let Savannah and her parents heal, and he couldn't face it if she ever blamed him for her sisters death.
This was a roller coaster of a story, both of them baling themselves for the end of their relationship, fear is a scary thing. This was a well written story about giving loves a second chance.

The Kampala Peppermint Twist - Milou Koenings

While watching her best friend get married, Annie can't believe the man she's dating, that she dared to ruin this experience by having him here as her plus one. Forgetting that breaking up with him means losing her job, soon she's on a plane to see her Parents in Adis Ababa. At the airport she's injured, and then has to watch an arrogant man just like her ex, and then can't believe that she winds up sitting next to him, then he has the gall to tell her how to care for her leg. When she arrives to meet her parents at the airport, there's a tube of cream to help her leg. Soon she meets Raj, the Dr at the hospital where one of her Mums students is a patient. Raj is the arrogant man from the plane trip, only he's not the arrogant man she initially thought.
This was a great story about first impressions and the fear of falling in love, I really loved the real fear that Annie felt, and her Mums input into helping Annie come to terms with it.

The Road Not Taken - Magdalena Scott

Francie is very unhappily married, waiting for the day when Brad will leave her, but she is excited to be going home to Serendipity, but Brad has never liked it there. Their son Joseph has encouraged his Grandmother to redecorate, which means Francie and Brad are cooped up in a tiny cabin. All Brad does is spend time on his phone and laptop, Francie is worried he may be having an affair, but despite everything she's sure he's not really the type, well she doesn't think so anyway. When her Mum Lorraine tells her she wants to slow down, all Francie can think about is if her Mum is dying, losing her family home, and the desperate need to share all this with Brad.

I loved and hated this story ( I won't give away the ending,) but it was hard to listen to Francie's inner battles and fears, but on the other hand, it was handled beautifully. The fears Magdalena wrote about were real, and beautifully portrayed.

The Kampala Peppermint Twist from Sweet Christmas Kisses 3
Start out with Amy and she's attending a family friends wedding as the maid of honor. She's lost her job, her boyfriend who was her boss and it's Christmastime and her mother in Africa finds out.
Isabelle invites Amy to come visit and she gets a plane ride-despite getting injured before she even gets on the plane. Love all the plans and how much the author tells you about Amy's past and her parents work in Africa.
So unpredictable for a Christmas holiday as they are in Africa, no snow and no cold. Love how she quickly helps others to only discover the doctor she already knew from the plane-she had gotten the wrong impression of him.
A huge gala party for the holiday and again she meets the doctor who not only dances with her but they get to know one another better. With all the help she's been giving the area she's neglected to explore and he invites her...
Precious gift she is able to give her mother-awesome idea for tinsel! Loved the travel and points of interest-so descriptive and informative!
Love how the book got its title, so unexpected from traditional Christmas holidays.
I received this book from the author in exchange for my honest review.

I read Ciara Knight's story in this box set: A Miracle Mountain Christmas.

I'm a huge sap for Christmas stories and this one was absolutely perfect! It was funny, heartfelt and full of spirit. The story centered around a group of older ladies (whose dialogue made me giggleout loud)trying to get their 'grandkids' together and did so in a parent trap kind of way.
Ciara has done an exceptional job with this story line and has out down herself with these characters! I fell whole heartedly into this happily ever story, I was crying happy tears by the end.
This author is a favorite of mine and I just can't get enough of her work! A miracle mountain Christmas was just amazing, and even if you buy the boxset for this one story it will be totally worth it!

I was looking for something to read that would-be light with happy endings. I just finished quite a few books that were very emotional and I really did not want to leave those worlds. So I was looking for something very different and I bought this series a while ago just because one of my favorite authors, Ciara Knight, had a story in it. But I have to say I really am enjoying each and every story in this grouping. They are all well written and very uplifting. I broke them out for you below except for the ones that had their story in a stand alone, those I reviewed separately.

A MIRACLE MOUNTAIN CHRISTMAS Ciara Knight
As always, this new story by Ciara Knight is worth reading. I loved the GGs who are a band of older women who just know how to make things happen. This does not always turn out the best for everyone it seems but they have the best intentions in their hearts. Savannah is one of those characters that you are not sure if you love her or want to shake her. She is very complex and as you get to know her, you understand her better. I loved how Mason was portrayed, he is not your normal male hero and that is what is so cool about him. You see him, flaws and all. It would be fun to see more stories about miracles that could happen at this mountain resort.

ON CHRISTMAS EVE Mona Risk
This story really gets to you and stays with you. Tiffany and Matthew have a past, but will they have a future. I really enjoyed reading this story about how love will overcome almost everything especially when there are twins involved.

CHRISTMAS HOLLY Christine Bush
Again, fathers with kids and no mothers can make for a very good story. Is this little SC town able to heal all of the hurts that life gives to someone? Holly finds herself in a situation that she never expected or wanted to be in. But her sister needed her and she stepped up to help. Sam had some terrible things happen to him but has a beautiful set of triples to keep him sane. Will this town be able to heal these two people? Read and find out, it is a great story that will keep you engaged.

THE CHRISTMAS GIFT Raine English
Who doesn’t love a story with dogs in it? That was my favorite part of the story seeing how Riley and Bodie, her new dog, get along. Bodie is the reason that Riley figures out who she loves. What a heartwarming story where everyone comes out the winner.

A LONDON CHRISTMAS Roxanne Rustand
Now this story has a mystery embedded which I never saw coming. When Cait goes to London to meet up with Derek, a gorgeous man she met on-line, she is robbed by him and left stranded. Sam, a photographer who just lost his assistant comes to her rescue. There are things that pop up in this story that you do not see coming which adds so much to the story. There is even a little history of London included.

FALLING FOR YOU AT CHRISTMAS Kristin Wallace
I really loved this story. It blended subtle hints about the Nativity and Cassie’s pregnancy. It is a fun love story and actually had me laughing out loud at some of the lines. The characters are so much fun to watch as they form themselves into a “family”. The Shepherds often add little remakes and Amelia Lamb is a hoot. “King” Stuart is someone who finds that he needs to follow his own advice. Jared and Tara are amazing, Tara is so mature for her age and Jared is that awesome father that every child should have.

SECOND CHANCE CHRISTMAS Merrillee Whren
Interesting story but not my favorite in this collection. It was heartwarming and moved along pretty well. But I had a problem with JD and Mel who both were so insecure that they just kept stalling. It also seemed strange to me that they were separated for 4 years and neither of them bothered to file for divorce. It did have a happy ending for a little boy who needed it.

CANDLEGLOW AND MISTLETOE Josie Rivera
I really loved this story, because it was so real. It was one of those stories that kept you thinking one thing was going to happen and it didn’t, something else did. I could see Noelle’s issues so well, she really did have a rough time and a lot to overcome. Gabe was one of those special guys that you always want to meet. I found this story to be one that makes me want to read more from this author.

What a totally fun box set written by some very talented authors. When you see a box set for this price it is hard to turn it down. It is a great way to get a taste of new authors and hopefully find one that will become your favorite.

Untangling Christmas by Shanna Hatfield
It was a totally delightful sweet read with a title that so fits the story. Neither Taylor nor Mike is looking for love both have been majorly hurt. Love or a relationship is very low on their list. Mike takes one look at this wild child and said NO WAY keep that fruitcake away from me. Taylor takes one look and said nice looking but what is going on with that wild hair. Mike said some things that he shouldn’t have and Taylor over hears him. Can we say HOT WATER! As they untangle the Christmas lights they seem to get all tangled together in other ways. It doesn’t help when everyone they know keeps pushing them together.

I really liked Mike even if his mouth is a little too big at times. I really wanted to give him a talking to a time or two. Poor Taylor I felt so sorry for her when Mike’s mouth ran away and hurt her feelings. I really loved her Uncle he kept me laughing. This was a very run read that I read at one setting I just couldn’t get enough. The ending will wow you as these two work on getting their act together.

I have to say this story put you right in the Christmas mood. I love the humor that this author brings to this box set. I am not going to lie even though I really liked Mike there was a time or two I would have loved to have had a heart to heart. There was nothing I didn’t like about Taylor from her bright clothes to her sunny ways. The author gives you a few passionate scenes that will melt your heart along with a very good plot. Their friends were a delight I got a kick out of watching them try their hands a match making. There is pain and sorrow along with a lot of love that fills this pages. I got a lot of enjoyment and laughs along with tons of smiles.

Thankfully yours by Leigh Riker
This was a very touching read your heart goes out to each character. Ash who lost his leg why severing is sent by his father to check on the family lodge to see if it is being kept up like his father wanted. His mother hates the place and wants it sold but his father dearly loves it. Garbi was the manager until it was shut down but doesn’t have time to met up with Ash and sends her friend Jill. Jill really doesn’t want to go because of the lost of her husband it brings back bad memories.

Both Ash and Jill have a past they are trying to outrun as the demons chase them. On meeting there is a strong attraction but with their past it is hard to move on. Will these two have the strength to give the other what they need or will love be lost again. I really got into this story the author writes such a great story she had me turning the pages as the race to find out the ending.

Cooking up Christmas by Tara Randel
Ash has decided to reopen his family business he is in need of some help giving a call to his long time friend Simon to get his much needed help on how to rebuild the kitchen. What happens when two strong minded people meet well you get a combustion that sets fire as two heads butt over and over again. Simon wants things his way and Gabi who is the manager wants things her way. Simon takes things in control as he challenges Gabi at every turn. Only one can win at this tug a war or can two? There is some major chemistry going on here that pulls you in with their baiting as head roll and emotions get high. This could be a win win or everyone could lose. I really liked these characters it was a fun loving read that keep me very entertained.

Countdown to Romance by Cari Lynn Webb
We get more of the wonderful told story of Ash as he brings in another close friend to help me get the business back up and running. Zac will be taking over the maintenance along with medical emergencies. Emily who is in town for her brother’s wedding wants to stay at the lodge. Her job keeps her on the move but she is ready to settle down and call Christmas town her home. This is so different for her can she make the changes she feels will make her happy or will it drive her crazy. When these two meet up they feel the pull of each other. Zac wonders if he will be enough to keep Emily or will she skip out on him and the town she grew up in. I really enjoyed reading this story the characters are really down to earth. The author pulls you in taking you way to a very heartwarming read.

Hers by Thanksgiving by Carol Ross
This was a very touching story Allison sold her horse to Uncle John she needed the money. John has died there is no record of the paying any of the money back just a bill of sale. She now wants her horse back but CJ said no proof no giving back. She doesn’t know Cotton John Larkspur III is the CJ that John always talked about. Will she not lose her horse or will CJ let her keep it? There are some twists here with the attraction between these two but CJ has a fiancé. Will he and Krista follow through and get married or will he get wise and pick Allison?

The author gives you wonderful characters that are down to earth ones you can relate to. This is truly a heartwarming read. There are so many things to be thankful for this is one story that will you in the mood to being on Thanksgiving and all those things you are grateful for.

Peace, Love and Baby Joy by Amy Vastine
There is nothing like a feud to get a story started I do love a good fight but Lucas and Valerie do not see things that way. They put the feud behind them tying the knot with I dos eloping last year. Now separated because both going their own ways because of the family feud. With Christmas around the corner it is time for the family to get together but no one knows about her and Lucas. She has more to hide seem she isn’t telling Lucas everything either. When she comes home she surprise she is very pregnant and ready to pop. Lucas was most surprised when he sees her for the first time. Someone has some explaining to do. These two will have to do some major work to get over a feud that has been going on for too many years are they going to let their family steal away the best thing they have each other and the new baby? Decisions will have to be made to keep their family together, try to make the family get over their fight or leave town never to come home again to make a new life with their baby.

This was such a sweet heart warming read. I loved how the author wrote the plot giving so much love to each character. Whenever there is a baby in the mix it sure makes you smile when things come together. Just wait until you read how these families react and all these two have to go through to find a HEA if they can.

Never Say Never on New Year’s by Cheryl Harper
There is nothing better than childhood love, love that grows stronger each day year after year. This is the way it was for Ren, Amanda, Chris only Amanda and Chris get married have a child with Ren moving away to London to become a fashion designer. The unthinkable happens Amanda dies leaving behind her husband and daughter. Ren stay in London doing her grieving there while Chris thinks she should have come home to help Sydney move on from the lost of her mother. Live gets in the way we cannot always do as we want but must do what we have to. Ren is now on her way home for a visit but at a great cost to herself if she comes home she loses her job. It does seem she is back home to stay giving Chris and Sydney all of her time that they need. With no money saved this could be a very trying time for her.

I really enjoyed how the author unfolds the love in this story. She gives Christmas a whole new meaning as she brings two families together in their hour of need. Can love grow stronger, strong enough to make these sad people a family giving them a love they have never know. I really loved how the author brought to life the true meaning of Christmas pulling you in from the first page giving you a compelling read. It was a very touching emotional read with down to earth characters that you feel you know. You are so going to love this and every book in this box-set.

I can’t wait to read more from each of these author as I read this set I will update my review. This is going to be one fun loving wonderful set of read for sure.

Sweet Christmas Kisses 3 is an anthology of 17 novellas. I received a bundle of 5 of them to review. All of these are the first works I’ve read by these authors and will keep an eye out for future stories.

Second Chance Christmas by Merrillee Whren
A young boy helps his estranged parents find love again at Christmas.

3.5 stars

I get that the couple is married, but it didn’t sit well with me about mentions of the estranged couple’s choices of bedroom activity at some point of the book. Yes, the couple is still legally married, but it has been four years since they have seen each other. I just could not get past that. I was expecting more of a Christmas feeling to this story.

Christmas Eve Wedding by Cindy Flores Martinez
A maid of honor is swept up in the chaos of planning her best friend’s spur-of-the-moment Christmas Eve wedding.

4 stars

To me the, setting of this book captured the Christmas feel that I have of the season. I thought this story began really strong. I liked the dynamics between Al and Jillian and would have liked a longer story with them. I just wish the last chapter was drawn out more. It was really abrupt and tried to fit too much information at once. I wish there was another chapter or two to really flesh things out better. There is a couple in the book that already had a story. I am interested in reading about them.

Secret Wish by Victoria Pinder
Luke Morgan doesn’t believe in miracles, but this season Christmas brought him Caro Soliz, the family maid.

3.5 stars

I was confused a little bit with all of the family drama, but that may just be me. I really wished this book wasn’t a part of an existing series. I didn’t really feel as connected to the characters with this story as I did in others. There is a minor plot point that doesn’t get fully resolved either. I would rather the whole novella have tied up completely.

Candleglow and Mistletoe by Josie Riviera
A rising pianist and a pro stuntman winding down his career find love amid the glow of Christmas candles.

4 stars

I feel like this book me more into a wintery mood than Christmas, but I still rather enjoyed it. I really like that it included a candle shop. I liked that Gabe had a crush on Noelle since high school, but I do felt like it moved a little fast for each other since it has been a while since they have seen each other. I also really hated some of the language in the story. I do believe the pacing other than I mentioned was good.

Couple by Christmas by Pat Simmons
Divorcee Derek Washington wants to reconcile with his ex-wife by Christmas. Although he’s got a plan, with the help of his six-year-old son, Derek only has two weeks.

5 stars
This story probably had the best, true representation of Christmas. Although the couple definitely had a past together, I did not feel over logged with any backstory. To me, incorporating backstory is one of the hardest thing in book, let alone a novella. I think Pat handled this the best I’ve seen in a while. Most Christian books I’ve read don’t include the Holy Ghost as much as this one has. I really enjoyed this one a lot more than I thought I’d would. I will say this novella isn’t fully complete. The couple’s story will be continued in another novella. Although I wish the story was completed in this novella, I think the ending was the right one.

Final thoughts on all:
I did enjoy this set as a whole. I have bought the whole set and plan to read them all at some point. As I read more stories in this set, I’m going to try to update this review and add them below this. I think this is a great deal. My biggest qualm is I felt like most of the stories had Christmas as an afterthought. There were standouts in that regard, in which I think Couple by Christmas and Christmas Eve Wedding had it more for me. I still recommend this set, especially if you want to sample a huge array of authors for a steal.

I was given a copy of the following five novellas in exchange for an honest review. I have also bought the collection and look forward to reading the rest.

Second Chance Christmas by Merrillee Whren – 5 stars

Melanie’s husband left her four years ago. He didn’t even respond when she wrote and told him they had a son. When she literally runs into him on the beach, they must face the past, and try to figure out the future.

I loved this second chance story! Melanie had such a huge heart! I wanted the best for her from the very start. I wasn’t sure about JD at first. He won me over with the way he interacted with Danny. And what a cutie Danny was!

Christmas Eve Wedding by Cindy Flores Martinez – 4 stars

Jillian easily agrees to be her best friend Allie’s maid of honor. Then Allie decides to get married in two weeks and Jillian’s busy schedule gets a lot busier. Allie’s brother is back in town and helping with the wedding, so Jillian sees him often. She can’t decide if that’s a good thing or a bad thing.

Jillian was an amazing friend! She had so many worries of her own, but was always there when Allie asked. Alfie was a bit too cocky for me sometimes. But that cockiness sure did make for some great exchanges! He definitely knew what he wanted, and that was Jillian. I enjoyed reading their story.

Secret Wish by Victoria Pinder – 3 stars

Luke Morgan and Caro Soliz were good friends in college. The day they said good-bye, Luke kissed her, and Caro’s world changed. But she never saw him again. When they are brought back together, both are happy to have a second chance.

The beginning of this story had me a bit confused. My mind spun as I tried to put together the background pieces that were being thrown at me. This is part of The House of Morgan series, and I really wish I had read the other books first. I felt like there was too much happening to contain in a novella. Some events really needed explanations of how they happened. I really liked both Luke and Caro, and I think their story could be really great if the author had more time to tell it.

Candleglow and Mistletoe by Josie Riviera – 5 stars

Noelle travels to Snowing Rock to help in her aunt’s candle shop. While there, she must continue preparing for the biggest piano concert of her career. She might be willing to give up some practice time for Gabe Waters, though. He seems dependable, but life has taught her not to trust people.

I loved this story from the very beginning! Noelle was so focused. It was great to watch Gabe pull her out of her shell. I could feel her vulnerability and also her determination to be the strong person she truly was. Gabe...sigh! Gabe was pretty much the perfect hero! This is the first thing I’ve read by Josie Riviera. I am very excited to read more of her work!

Couple By Christmas by Pat Simmons – 4 stars

Derek knows that he made many mistakes in his marriage. It’s been two years since his divorce, and he wants to reconcile with his ex-wife. His first step is to get Robyn to talk to him.

I liked this story. I like seeing a family come back together. Both Derek and Robyn had grown since their divorce. I was glad that they were also trying to reconcile their relationships with Christ. They knew that was necessary to heal their own relationship. Their story isn’t over. Part II will be released in November 2016. I was happy with where this novella ended, and I look forward to reading the next one.

I was provided with a complimentary copy of the following selected stories for an honest review.

Candleglow and Mistletoe - Josie Riviera

Noelle Wentworth is a pianist in hiding after a particularly humiliating concert performance that not only derailed her career, but also her marriage. Therefore, when her Aunt Joy needs help with her candle shop, she readily agrees since it'll mean getting out of Saint Augustine and heading to the small town of Snowing Rock, NC. She plans to use her time in Snowing Rock to practice and prepare for a comeback concert with her now ex-husband. However, she does not plan on meeting a man who somehow sweeps past her fears and insecurities. Can she actually trust him? Is his job more important than her?

Gabe Waters is now a successful Hollywood stunt man. It's no wonder that Noelle doesn't recognize him. After all, he'd been rather scrawny back in high school. But, he's never forgotten her. Can he convince her to trust him? That he won't let her down?

This is a sweet story of two people needing someone to trust and believe in them. It's only about 80 pages long, so don't expect too much depth.

Romance - PG - some kissing
Language - PG

My rating - 4 stars

The Christmas Gift - Raine English (9 chapters)
This is a second chance story. Riley Wayne has been unsuccessful with men since she gave up on Mason Carr and broke up with him. But, now she's back in town with her younger sister, Taylor. Unbeknownst to Riley is that Taylor is determined to see her happy - with Mason. And, for his part, Mason is depending on Taylor to help him out. Can he win Riley's affections? Can he convince her to give him a second chance? Or will another man step in before he has a chance?

This story won't take you long to read, and you'll be smiling when you're done. I also enjoyed the added antics of the dogs in the story.

Romance & language are both free from anything offensive. There are a few kisses.
My rating - 5 stars.

Untangling Christmas - Shanna Hatfield (10 Chapters)
Mike Clarke is jaded. He is done with relationships and intends to avoid commitments. The last time he tried, he was publicly humiliated. He'd rather focus on his electrician business and leave romance to others.

Taylor Taggart is done with men. She doesn't trust them. She'd rather focus on doing things that make her happy. And, if wearing bright clothes makes her happy, then she'll wear them without worrying about what others say.

Can two people who lack trust find it? Can they learn to forgive the past and move forward? Fortunately, they have great friends and family that step in to help the situation. I was actually impressed at how this story covers a lot of ground in only a few chapters. The character development and growth was well done.

Romance - PG - lots of kisses.
Language - clean
My rating - 5 stars

A Miracle Mountain Christmas - Ciara Knight (13 chapters + Epilogue)
This is another second chance story.
Savannah Blake and Mason Harrington thought they loved each other and were destined to be married. Then, tragedy struck and life took a turn that no one saw coming. It's now been 7 years, but seeing each other again brings all those memories back to the surface.

The setting is in the hills of Tennessee where Savannah's construction company is renovating a retirement home into a future resort / inn for 3 elderly ladies commonly known as the "GGs" - the ladies that were like mothers to both Savannah and Mason. Can the GGs get the two of them to talk and realize that they love each other?

I wanted to like this story more, but there was just too much tragedy in the back story for it to be a simple resolution. Also, I felt that Savannah's behavior was too extreme. I had a difficult time believing the ending because of it. It didn't feel realistic. What redeemed this story was the GGs.

My rating - 3 stars

The Kampala Peppermint Twist - Milou Koenings (10 Chapters)
As I began this story, I really questioned where it was going. But, then, by the time I reached the 3rd chapter, I was fully engaged.

Annie Larson is lonely. Her parents are away for a year in Uganda and she's now unemployed because she broke up with her boyfriend - who happened to be her boss. So, when her parents invite her to come spend Christmas with them in Uganda, she agrees.

What follows is an account of what happens to Annie when she travels to Uganda and the life changing experiences she has. Along the way, she meets a man she nicknames "tuxedo man." Who is he? Is he like her ex-boyfriend?

Despite the fact that it's almost all told from Annie's POV, this story will keep you engaged till the end. There's a lot of side story involved with what Annie witnesses on her travels. Again, secondary characters are great.

Romance - PG - kissing
Language - clean
My rating - 5 stars

Unfortunately, I was not able to read any of the other stories in the collection, but based on these 5, it's a good solid set and you should be able to find several that you enjoy.

Christmas is full of love

The short stories were full of hope forgiveness and love. I enjoyed reading especially the fact that the books were clean. No vulgarity but full of everyday ppl and everyday lives. I am a romantic at heart and love happy endings. I know that life is not all happy endings but it could be if we would love Jesus with all our hearts and our neighbors as ourselves. That with the beauty that God created could be heaven on earth I would highly recommend this to anyone and everyone Especially my Christian family.

There is a good reason I began this more than four years ago and haven't been back... Maybe somewhere there is something worth reading in this box set but having read the first chapters of book #1 and #2 I simply can't be bothered to find out. If you are 13, or an adult who likes wading through clichéd simplistic stories this could be exactly what you are looking for. I am neither of those.

A Couple by Christmas

I enjoyed each book in this series, but especially "A Couple by Christmas". I loved how the author related a Christian
walk to her characters, causing me to consider my own walk. I will be reading more of Pat Simmons, thank you, Pat.

What an absolutely fun, fun, set of novellas by a great group of authors. I had already pre-ordered the set before I was asked to review a few of the stories. I mean, 99 cents, 17 stories, come on friends that's a no brainer. My review will focus on the four I received before release date, but I'm excited to read the rest.

Raine English, The Christmas Gift
Cute story about second chance love involving a dog, a dog business owner, and a whole lot of behind the scenes help from a friend. There is a part involving dropping off a dog that is seriously fun. I love the relationship and chemistry between our h and H.

Shanna Hatfield, Untangling Christmas
Tricked into helping with Silverton’s Festival of Trees, electrician Mike Clarke battles faulty outlets, tangled lights, and a woman determined to share the spirit of the season. And what a woman she is. This has such vivid descriptions of her funky outfits and full of life attitude. Every scene of the h and H interaction is full of sparks. I loved the theme and the ending. (oh and the yummy recipe included)

Ciara Knight, A Christmas on Miracle Mountain
This was my favorite of the four stories I read. I laughed - out loud - sooo many times. Four senior ladies (affectionately called the GG's for gaggle girls) are trying to get an inn open, and a romance together all at the same time. Think Golden Girls as matchmakers, pranksters and a force to be reckoned with. Honestly, they'll stop at nothing to get one of their grandsons hitched. This is also a second chance romance. I love the relationship between our victim couple. Throw in Christmas time, power outages and stories of the past GG escapades, and you have an hour of pleasure and smiling.

Milou Koenings, The Kampala Peppermint Twist
A twist of fate. An overbooked flight. Christmas in Africa will flip her life upside down.
Throwing caution to the wind, Annie is flying to Africa to spend Christmas with her parents. The airport and ensuing airplane ride prove to contain excitement and a gorgeous, grumpy flying companion (our hero, of course). Imagine her surprise when she runs into him again volunteering with her Mom. Sparks fly.
I love that this story has a lovely additional depth to it. A great holiday read.

On Christmas Eve by Mona Risk
Tiffany leaves her fiancé 5 years ago when she thinks he has cheated on her. She decides not to date and goes on with her life. Her family protects her until the day that she literally bumps into her ex. Matthew is the driver of the car that Tiffany backs into. She claims he ran into her but he says otherwise.
Will Tiffany and Matthew work out their problems. See what happens. On Christmas Eve is a short novella that will make you laugh and smile and wish it would never end. I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

The Christmas Gift by Raine English
Riley and Mason used to date and they split up because Riley wanted something that Mason couldn’t offer her. She moved on and things didn’t work out there either. So she moved back to live with her sister. Her sister comes up with a plan to get the two of them back together.
The only problem I had with the story is that I thought it was too short. I would have loved to have had a little more time to get to know these characters a little better. I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review

Second Chance Christmas by Merrillee Whren
Melanie and J.D. used to be an item when they were younger. They used to hang out together and enjoyed each other’s company even though they were total opposites. He was a neat person, she was messy. He was prompt, she was late and the list goes on. Everyone thought that Melanie was making a mistake but her and J.D. got married. He left to pursue his tennis career because he couldn’t stand the fact that Melanie stayed home and binge ate and didn’t clean the house.
He left for 4 years to return and find out that Melanie had a secret that she was keeping from her. Could they work out their problems and put the past behind them. Would they finally find their happy ever after and be able to pursue a future together

Untangling Christmas by Shanna Hatfield
Mike is an electrician in a small town and his best friend Brock is married to Brenna who owns the local bistro. She fixes Mike breakfast every morning and one morning she asked him to do a favor for her. She has a friend who is new to town and she will be using an old warehouse to store the Christmas trees for the festival of trees auction that will be coming up soon. The wiring in the warehouse needs to be checked to make sure that it is safe for all the trees that will be showcased there.
Mike is just getting over a bad relationship. He has this dislike for redheads now. And the new director of the warehouse happens to be a really weird redhead. She dresses in her own style. Mike tries to get the warehouse ready without having much contact with her but that doesn’t always work out for him.
This book will show you that it is true opposites do attract. I really enjoyed this book by Shanna Hatfield and had a hard time putting it down. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I enjoyed these 4 stories so much that I ordered the box set and can't wait to read the rest of the stories in it. I think you will feel the same way.

Her Christmas Secret by Alicia Street

i started reading this story and just couldn't put it down. Before I knew it I had finished it. So glad I bought the box set and started reading some more of the stories.

This one is about Lila who works two jobs and is a toymaker also. She makes some unique toys and finally gets two of them in to the largest toy chain in town. She is trying to get all her toys in their store so that she can help her sister and her family while they are struggling.

She keeps trying to meet with the owner of the store and then she meets the maintenance man when he catches her when she nearly falls off the ladder. However, he actually is the owner of the toy store but he doesn't tell Lila this. He is trying to make sure she isn't just a gold digger after his money.

A truly wonderful story that makes you realize how magical the Christmas season can be.

I received an ARC for four of the Sweet Christmas Kisses 3 in exchange for an honest review. These definitely got me in the Christmas mood!

On Christmas Eve, by Mona Risk
Tiffany and Matthew were the perfect loving couple engaged to be married when a misunderstanding separates them for five years. Now, she runs into him again (literally with her car) and finds out he has twin daughters. Fate has a way of bringing them together several times before Tiffany realizes maybe they are meant to be a couple again. If you love sweet medical romances, this is for you. Ms. Risk should really think about expanding On Christmas Eve into a full-length novel. There is enough plot, characterization, conflict, and swoon to fill 300 pages.

Christmas Holly, by Christine Bush
I received this advanced copy in exchange for a fair review. This is a story about Holly, who is lonely and allows her career to take the place of relationships, until she is laid off and her sister Aggie is deployed overseas. Aggie needs someone to take care of her menagerie of pet, so Holly agrees to move to the tiny community, Clayton Island. Most of the inhabitants only live there during the summer months, but she manages to befriend several ‘year rounders’ including her next door neighbor, Sam and his adorable triplets. Sam is swallowing in grief after losing his wife during childbirth while he also was deployed overseas. Sam and Holly become friends and both long for more.
I loved the sweet, slow burn of this romance, but at times, I felt the pacing was off. I enjoyed the parts of the story where the reader was in Sam’s head more because even though we get a glimpse of his sadness and extreme guilt from losing his wife, the amount of backstory for him was appropriate. The backstory for Holly seemed a bit much for a novella. I loved that Holly finally was able to overcome her grief about losing her parents at an early age and that she has a second chance at a family, with Sam and with the entire Clayton Island community.

Mistletoe and Sage, by Lyn Cote
From the very first line in the story, Sage, a single mom is already feeling the pull of the new deputy Garrett. They have been assigned to determine the cause of the recent vandalism cases in the area. Both Sage and Garrett have lots of pain and aren’t ready for a relationship, but Garrett can’t keep from wanting Sage more than just a co-worker and her darling little boy… oh he can’t get enough of him. Sage and Mistletoe is a wonderful romantic mystery and I wasn’t ready for it to end.

A Merry Little Christmas, by Denise Devine
I loved everything about this story. Merry is a divorced mother of two and her ex-husband is in jail for stealing money from his client. Tony lost his wife and son a few years earlier in a car wreck and is also the sister-in-law to Neal, the man who lost the money. Neal hired Tony to find out where Merry’s ex-husband has hidden the money. Tony immediately doesn’t want to be in the middle of this and as soon as he meets Merry and her sweet children, he knows he cannot go along with the plan. Merry has already been lied to by her husband, she sure doesn’t need to be lied to by Tony. Their pull toward one another is a slow, sweet attraction by the time they realize it, truths come out that can wreck a happily ever after.

A Merry Little Christmas is my favorite of the four novellas I read in exchange for honest reviews. I would love to see this story in a full-length novel and I look forward to reading more by Ms. Devine.

Great holiday collection!
I had the privilege of reading The Christmas Gift by Raine English in this collection of sweet holiday romances.
Riley Wayne didn't feel like there was much to celebrate this year for Christmas, but her sister Taylor had other plans. She loved the fact that her sister had moved back home and was starting over. She intended for them to have a wonderful Christmas with all of the traditions from their childhood.
Riley had no idea that Taylor along with Riley's ex Mason Carr had planned a Christmas surprise hoping to nudge Riley's defenses and to make way for Mason to share the fact that his feelings for her have never changed.

I was given an ARC for an honest review. All conclusions are mine and mine alone.

I really enjoy reading novellas based on the Christmas season, and The Kampala Peppermint Twist by Milou Koenings was a pleasure to read. A trip to Uganda taken by Annie to see her parents during Christmas was a very worthy trip. The scenery portrayed is beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time. Discovering what goes on in what is like another world can be rewarding if a person is willing to help out and finds out ways to do so. And you never know when love will blindside you! I look forward to reading more by the other authors involved in putting this Christmas special together. [I received this book from the author for a fair and honest review.]

If you're in the mood for holiday stories, you'll enjoy this boxed set. There is a nice mix of authors, settings and romances. Raine English wrote a charming second chance at love story. In The Christmas Gift Riley Wayne comes home to stay with her sister. She needs to heal from a bad break up. Her boy friend was a serial cheater. Suddenly she finds herself working at Doggie Town for Mason, her former sweetheart. Do they get a second chance to find love? Riley is determined to stand on her own two feet. She won't fall into Mason's arms. I loved this story. It's filled with delightful characters, some cute dogs and a sizzling romance. The dialogue and the situations are humorous. Shanna Hatfield made me fall in love with this story. Mike Clarke doesn't like redheads. His former red headed girlfriend dumped him very publicly and he hasn't gotten over her rejection. He takes his frustration out on Taylor Taggart just because of her hair color. In reality he's attracted to her. Will he get beyond her looks and realize what a giving woman she is? I liked Taylor. She's a strong woman who has recovered from heartbreak. It took me longer to warm up to Mike. He needs to grow up and put the past behind him. I'm glad that he learned from his mistakes. I loved their journey to find true love. In a Miracle Mountain Christmas by Ciara Knight, Savannah Blake faces the man who left her to endure ridicule and loss by herself. The town blamed Mason for the accidental death of Savannah's sister. Six years have passed and the crazy ladies known as the GGs trick Mason into coming home. Can these two put aside their pain and find their way back to each other? I loved the rugged and snowy mountains. They are the perfect setting for a holiday romance. Savannah and Mason deserve happiness. Their story broke my heart. I enjoy reading about second chances. In The Kampala Peppermint Twist by Milou Koenings we celebrate a Christmas love set in Africa. When Annie dumps her boyfriend/boss, she ends up unemployed. Her parents are in Africa volunteering so she's on her own until they invite her to come see them. Annie is up for the adventure, but is she ready for love? I liked Annie. she's smart and feisty. When she meets "Tuxedo Man" she's attracted and so is he. He may irritate her, but she finds that Dr. Madan has a generous heart. Suddenly afraid Annie runs back to the safety of Green Pines. I wanted to shake her and tell her to open her heart. This story is filled with charming characters, an exotic setting and an interesting plot. I fell in love with these two. Besides these stories there are more heartwarming tales. This is such a wonderful holiday set. They definitely put me in the holiday spirit.

On Christmas Eve by Mona Risk
Christmas Holly by Christine Bush
Mistletoe and Sage by Lyn Côte
A Merry Little Christmas by Denise Devine

What a wonderful group of clean sweet Christmas romances! These stories were truly a joy to read. The characters were all well developed & realistic. The plots moved forward at a perfect pace & the narratives were descriptive. I received an ARC from the authors in exchange for an honest opinion.

On Christmas Eve - On her way to a wedding, Tiffany backs her car into another one. The other driver is Matthew, a former boyfriend that she's banished from her life. At the wedding, guess who is in the family & friends in attendance & he isn't alone. His twin daughters are in attendance with him. But where is their mother? The chemistry is still hot & intense. Can Tiffany forgive Matthew? Can they move forward together?

Christmas Holly - Holly McDonald has been laid off from her job in New York City. While she is taking a break & figuring out her next move, she goes to Clayton Island, South Carolina to watch her sister's pets until different arrangements can be made. Holly couldn't refuse Aggie since she raised her after their parents died in a boat wreck & Aggie was called up for a emergency deployment. Aggie's next door neighbor, Sam & his triplets helped her get settled in. Can Clayton Island work it's magic on Holly? Will she act on her attraction to Sam? Can Sam forgive himself to move forward?

Mistletoe and Sage - Deputy Sage Dietz is a single mother after her husband was killed in an accident. Deputy Garrett Connolly is the new guy on the force. He's moved to Wisconsin from Iowa after a bad breakup. While investigating a series of vandalism events at a new division being built, Sage & Garrett are thrown together. Can they ignore their pasts or will they let the hurt define their future? Do they act on their attraction?

A Merry Little Christmas - Merry Connor is a broke single mother of two. Her husband embezzled money from his employer & took off with the money they had. He was caught & sentenced but never said where the money was. The man that was embezzled from, Neal Carter, asks his brother in law, Tony Lewis to befriend Merry & find out where the money was. Tony tried to refuse but Neal tried to use guilt to make him comply. When Tony meets Merry, he knows she isn't guilty. The attraction grows every time they meet. Will Merry hate him when she finds out who he is? Can Tony forget his guilt over his wife & son's death? Will they find the money?

This review covers 3 novellas from this anthology which I was gifted in return for my honest opinion.

THE ROAD NOT TAKEN by Magdalena Scott (one slight spoiler if you really read between the lines) 4.5/5 stars
This novella was so descriptive that I wanted to jump right into Serendipity and work at the Christmas tree farm shop with Francie's family! Francie has such a great network of friends and family to help her through the tough times in life and this book tells a sweet story of how forgiveness, transparency and communication were keys to opening up a dark time in her life. I love how the author is a cheerleader for Brad and Francie's marriage.

A LONDON CHRISTMAS- by Roxanne Rustand 3.5/5 stars

Oh Catriona- looking for love but not finding it like she intended! I wanted to reach through the pages and shake some sense into this girl!! (We all have a Catriona in our own lives, I believe, the lonely friend who is successful in life, just not with relationships!) The setting for this book is beautiful and believable. Having been to London, I could picture Catriona's adventure and wanted to be her travel buddy- but that spot got filled...I'll let you find out by whom!!

FALLING FOR YOU AT CHRISTMAS- by Kristen Wallace 3/5 stars

Cassie Stevens is a hot mess! Very pregnant and alone for Christmas, she travels to the Florida coast for some R&R and to forget her loneliness. Her newfound friends at the inn help her overcome the emotions of being left out and alone. One friend in particular-Jared helps her "heal." Spoiler- this book is a tad bit more sensual than sweet (for my taste). I know she has raging hormones due to her pregnancy, but Cassie is quite the lusty lady when it comes to Jared and it makes for quite the unbelievable and quick romance.
