About the story... Nicholas Bakewell, author of Santa and the Christ Child, has been involved in almost every phase of the motion picture industry throughout his adult life. In addition, for over thirty years he has portrayed the role of Santa Claus at Christmas time-to thousands of children. As Santa, he never fails to remind children to wish the infant Christ Child a happy birthday on Christmas morning. His personal experience as Santa Claus inspired Nicholas to write the beautiful story, Santa and the Christ Child. An expanded version of the story has also been written as a motion picture script and will be produced as a Christmas television special. Hopefully this lovely Christmas legend will bring joy to children-and also adults throughout the world, and remind them each year of the glorious fact that Christmas is the birthday of the Lord!
Nice introduction to Santa Claus or the Nativity Story by incorporating both in the same book. St. Nicholas is the Santa Claus of the Christian world before the poem by Clement C. Moore introduced the Santa Claus that Americans know.
I used this book for 20 years in my religion class for 2nd graders to help them understand the connection of the Christ Child. Beautifully written! Now I read it to my granddaughter. ❤️❤️❤️
I really like this story and its obvious message ... that even Santa kneels before the Baby of Christmas!
I love all the illustrations in this story of Santa, meeting a child who helped the elves build toys, and worked on a "secret project". Of the Christmas Eve delivery, and the visit to a special place ... where Santa kneels before the Christ-child.
I think that it is a cute way to try to blend 2 beliefs about Christmas together: One the materialistic pagan belief of Santa. the other a celebration of the birth of the Christ Child. I love the fact that Santa kneels before Christ acknowledging who he is and reaffirming that this holiday season is all about him.
A friend let me borrow her copy of this book and I absolutely love it! I want to buy it but the cheapest copy I could find was a used one for $50! It's amazingly simple and beautiful.
