This book is about a daughter who asks her mother if she is big or little. It talks about her size relative to other items like her mother and her cat, and about actions she can perform because of her size. Her mother helps her understand this concept by discussing it with her throughout the day.
This book reminds me of the book 'Guess How Much I Love You'. They stories are both through the dialog of a parent and child. In both books the parent is teaching the child something and the child is actively learning it through actions.
I really enjoyed this book because it describe relative size to a child in terms they can understand. By the end of the book a child can understand how they can be both big and little at the same time. I think this would be good book for kids ages 2-5.

My parents got me this book for my 4th birthday! That was forever ago. Anyway, the book is cute.

This concept book introduces the idea that size is relative - the toddler in the story is little enough to be carried upstairs by her mother, but little enough to jump downstairs too. The illustrations are sweet if a little dated-looking (I was surprised to learn this book was published in 2002). In my opinion, this is better-suited to a group storytime than to a one-on-one read-aloud, but it gets high marks for giving children a frame of reference for size and for helping establish that, as the toddler's mother says at the beginning of the book, "you can be big AND little at the same time."

This book is a good example to teach children about their age. When they ask if they are big enough for something sometimes the answer will be yes because they are able to ride a horse on the carousel. Other times when they ask is if they want to go somewhere by themselves. When they are small you have to tell them no. They get to act like a big kid and get praised, but sometimes it is okay to be too small. You don't get to do as many things but you can do more fun things. My all time favorite is playing with shaving cream when you are small. You lose interest in it once you grow up a little bit.

I really like the dialog between the child and mother where they explore big and little. especially where the mom says, "You're like a big present in a little box." Illustrations by Tracey Dockray in watercolors and watercolor pencils.

I requested this book after seeing the art in the dog friendly dog training book. I do love the illustrator. The text for this children's story is okay, demonstrating how small (stature) and big (maturity) can go together, as well as the more expected message that size is relative.

Fun to read with emphasis on some words. The pictures captured the writers intent.Even though the girl was little she was also Big enough to to what Little people do.

Great book for kids about 3-4 who are confused that they can be big for some things but little for others.

This is a sweet little book. A mom and daughter talk about all the big kid things the girl can do, but also all the ways she is still little.
