My Opinion:
I really liked this story. It was written well and I fell in love with Rose. She came out a widower and instead of conforming to what others wanted, she did what she wanted. She had a free spirit and was a strong character. But, I couldn't get over Philip's vow that he never really made to his brother, just to himself. I don't know. It went to extremes. I could have used a bit less of his brother shadowing the book.

There were a few twists and turns in the book and near the end I was a

Thank you Netgalley for sending me an ARC of this book! All opinions are my own and not influenced in any way.

A Love to Remember is a historical romance novel about Rose and Phillip, two people who have always loved each other but refused to marry. Eventually, Rose does want to marry and have children, but Phillip is still dead set against that lifestyle, so they break up. Unfortunately, they still have feelings for each other and have to cope with being alone. Will they end up back together,

Series: The Disgraced Lords #7
Publication Date: 8/29/17

Suspenseful, romantic, and filled with complex characters Bronwen Evans Disgraced Lords series always has a place at the top of my must read list. She doesn’t shy away from dealing with some of the darker issues – sometimes much to my dismay. However, this book isn’t dark. It is a journey to acceptance and redemption from a deep grief and guilt.

Widowed, Rose Deverill, Duchess of Roxborough, has decided that she will never, ever marry again
Sissy's Romance Book Review
'A Love to Remember' by Bronwen Evans is Book Seven in "The Disgraced Lords" series. This is the story of Rose Deverill widow of Duke of Roxborough and Philip Flagstaff, The Earl of Cumberland.
Rose is Phillip's sister Portia best friends, so Rose has known Phillip since they were young. Rose has since become a Widow and even been kicked named “Wicked Widow” since she has taken several lovers since her husbands death. Rose also has a young son who she loves very much. Rose has sworn to never

Review in Portuguese:

A Love to Remember had the perfect ingredients: a hero haunted by the past and a heroine who would make him see that he deserves to be happy. Too bad that in the end everything was very quickly wrapped up with a nice bow.

Rose is always described as an independent woman who doesn’t want to get married, but we readers only get to know her when she wants to get married

A Love to Remember is the seventh book in The Disgraced Lords series by Bronwen Evans.

Rose Deverill is a widow and is happily so. She was married off to a much older man who only wanted to beget an heir and once that happened he was more than happy to have no other 'relations' with her. Since his death, Rose has had some lovers and hasn't hidden the fact. In fact, she's exaggerated it because she doesn't want any other offers of marriage. She is happy with her independence and with her life

Oh how I love this book. I could bearly put it down to sleep. I have read every book in The Disgraced Lords series and have love them all but they pale in comparison to this book. I don't know where to start and I wish I could simply said, "just go read this book you will love it" and be done but I can't.
Philip Flagstaff the second son to a Earl was always doing something wrong and needing his family to save him. After a particularly bad financial investment he decides to enroll in the Kings

I received a copy of this title from the publisher for an honest review. First, although this considered book 7 of the Disgraced Lords series, it easily works as a stand alone unlike the previous books in the series that contained an overarching story. Philip Flagstaff is a younger son who enlisted in the military and found himself fighting in the Napoleonic war, but he never expected his older brother, the Earl of Cumberland, to join the military as well. After his brother sacrifices himself to ...more

I haven't read a historical romance for so long, I forgot how much I enjoy reading this genre. I spent half of Sunday indulging myself with this read. This is book #7 in a series but I believe they can all be read as stand alone. I was particularly thrilled to be reading a book written by a New Zealand author too.

Rose Deverall was married off at 18 years old, a mother at 19 and widowed by the time she was 20. Her late husband was a lot older than her, imagine marrying someone as old as your

“But sometimes love is not enough.”

What started as an affair between the merry widow, the Duchess Rose Deverill the Earl of Cumberland, Philip Flagstaff ended up as true love. The only thing is that Philip is struggling with the way he came into his earldom and has vowed to never marry.
Feeling responsible for his brother Robert's death at Waterloo, Philip has decided to forgo marriage and children as a penance.

Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews

A Love to Remember is a beautifully written story of redemption and forgiveness. Philip Flagstaff is the new Earl of Cumberland after his brother Robert dies saving Philip from certain death. He carries the guilt with him and vows never to marry and carry on his title but instead hand it down to his younger brother. What saves him is an affair he starts with Rose Deverill. It brings him some solace in his half-life he deems himself to live. What each of them doesn’t realize is that time isn’t on

A historical romance of the first water. The heroine is a young widowed Duchess and the hero is a newly minted Earl. He has acquired the title as his older brother, the Earl, was killed while saving his life on the battlefield. The story is lusty and poignant. They love each other but both have an aversion to the commitment of marriage. The burning question is can they find away around the emotional baggage they are carrying in abundance.

I have rated this book 4.25 stars and would recommend it

I LOVED this book, if you have been following the Disgraced Lords series then you already know Philip and Rose and you have probably been wondering why they haven't married. If you haven't read the series, you will still enjoy this book as Philip and Rose have primarily been secondary characters and Ms. Evans give more than enough back story to make this a stand alone title.

The book opens with Philip Flagstaff, the new Earl of Cumberland standing at the grave of his older brother Robert, the

Rose Deverill enjoys being the Wicked Widow, after a forced marriage to an elderly duke, now she’s free to do as she pleases, and she will never marry again, unless Philip Flagstaff, the new Earl of Cumberland, asks her. Oh that Philip would want the same thing, they are so well-matched, their torrid affair doesn’t seem likely to end soon, even though Philip’s never lasted that long before. Rose is under pressure because she could lose her son, who soon will be turning six; it wouldn’t be proper ...more

Rose Deverill was the widow of the late Duke of Roxborough. She was married off to this elderly man at a very young age and after his death she swore she would never marry again. Received an ARC for my fair review for netgalley. I have always enjoyed Ms. Evans books, I think the only book that was not for me, was her last one. This one I did enjoy, just not my favorite, and for the period that we were reading on, I was kind of surprised of the heroine, she was pretty promiscuous, but hey it was a story and to each its own. So Rose is a widow now, after being married to an older gentleman she is determined to not ever get married again, the only good thing that came out ...more
This is the seventh Disgraced Lords novel and it is about Rose and Philip, a couple who has been part of the other books as secondary characters who now gets their own story told. Fans of the series know these two quite well, they have quite an unconventional relationship and readers get to find out why it is so. Although I love Rose's character I simply did not like Philip's reasoning on his decision regarding where his relationship with Rose is going. It felt a little bit off compared to how ...more

5 Stars! Wow!! I LOVE this book!! I read the whole thing in one sitting!! This is my first time reading a book from this series & now I'm going to have to buy & read the rest!! I really love how Rose isn't the normal 1800's innocent virgin or non-sexual widow!! It's a refreshing change from the usual main female character!! This was a really good book! It's got mystery, suspense, romance, it's got pretty much everything!! It's a well developed story & I felt so bad for Philip & ...more

A Love to Remember by Bronwen Evans
Disgraced Lords #7

Phillips feels unworthy of his Earldom but promises himself to do his brother proud taking up the mantle. In his mind that means never marrying or begetting a child that will be the future Earl. For two years he and Rose, a widowed duchess, have an affair. He holds true to his resolve wanting an affair forever as she begins to want marriage and children – with him. Whether or not the two will end up with a HEA depends on whether or not Phillip

Oh, I loved this book. It’s full of passion, lust and of course two troubled leads. Both don’t want to get married – Rose doesn’t want to remarry and Philip doesn’t want to produce a heir. Both have a backpack from their past they carry around.

Rose was kind of sold to an elderly Duke (Roxborough) before she had a season. A passionless, loveless marriage – thankfully she gave birth to a son within a short period. Plus, thankfully the Duke died quickly after it, so she was an independent widow.

You know you’re in for a treat when you’re already in love with the characters and you haven’t even gotten past the prologue! What a beautiful story of two people who thought they’d never love finding love in each other.
Philip Flagstaff, Earl of Cumberland, never wanted the title. Especially after receiving it following the death of his elder brother. A death Philip was responsible for. As atonement, Philip vows never to marry. The inheritance would pass to his younger brothers. Never a child

A LOVE TO REMEMBER, is a unpredictable, captivating and intriguing tale of love, respect, danger, betrayal and what I'd call "survival guilt". Once again, Ms. Evans brings her readers a complex, masterfully written story with engaging, realistic and believable characters. I was glued to the story from the first page to the very end. And the story lingered long after the last page. Bronwen Evans is one of my favorite Historical Romance authors. She always holds my attention and my heart with her

Not your typical Historical Romance

For Rose Deverill, one husband was enough. As the wealthy widow of the Duke of Roxborough, she has cultivated an unsavory reputation meant to discourage wife hunters. Thanks to a string of steamy affairs, Rose is perfectly content to be known by polite society as the “Wicked Widow”—until she’s reunited with the man she fell in love with at age fifteen. Their bedroom encounters are scorching, but it breaks Rose’s heart to wonder whether her reckless behavior

FINAL DECISION: The tale of longtime lovers who have reached a turning point in their relationship, this novella is very sexy. I enjoyed the connection between Rose and Philip but was a bit annoyed with Philip's motivations.

THE STORY: For Rose Deverill, Duchess of Roxborough, one marriage was more than enough. She never intends on marrying again and indeed she is enjoying her widowhood so much that she is known as the "Wicked Widow". She is satisfied with her lovers and raising her young son,

Every once in a while you come across a book that compels you to read it beginning to end- you connect and you cannot stop reading. This book was one of those for me. I started reading it at 11:00 pm - to just start it- but finally finished it at 3:20 am. Whew! Rose and Philip's story is wonderful.

Rose is a woman who has been used and is now wanting to be in control of her life. She was forced by her father to marry a man old enough to be her grandfather - at 18 years of age! He did it to raise

Although this is the seventh installment of this series, you do not need to have read the the others in order to enjoy this story. Each of the stories in this series for the most part are considered "stand alone" stories that feature their own beginning and ending (although the first books in this series did contain one overall arc that was featured throughout the stories, this one does not). Some of the characters from previous stories are mentioned, but there is nothing in this series that
