This book is full of amazing testimonies to the supernatural God is still doing in our lives today! This book will increase your humility, faith and expectancy of Jesus. This is a must read!!

This is an extremely simple read, of a testimony of a man of similar background as me. Grown up in a conservative, Idaho town. But now hearing the Lord's beautiful, powerful, loving voice and following it to the ends of the earth. Me specifically, Queenstown, NZ and Papua New Guinea as a full time YWAM missionary.
That being said, its the simplicity of this book, with a pure devotion to teach people the epic faith and joy of following His voice, that makes it so beautiful. You can tell it was written in gentle love, humble testimony, and a passion to see His presence fill all His people on Earth.
To me it's an amazing story like that of Lauren Cunningham's "Is That Really You God?" And it carries so much weight in knowing God, and making Him known. I may have my Discipleship Training School read it along with "Is That Really You God?".
I strongly recommend this book.

When I received this book, I wondered at the title, Epic Faith. What would it be about that would qualify as “epic”? To me, the word means extraordinary, exceptional, and rare, and I doubted that any Christian book about faith, other than the Bible, would meet my understanding. However, after the first few pages I couldn’t put the book down. I was drawn in by the honesty, humility, and true-to-life qualities of this autobiography. As a pastor, I immediately purchased a copy our Youth Director to read it because it was not only deeply engaging, but filled with the wisdom of a young man shaped by the afflictions of life, who began to see how God was preparing him for a ministry as a church youth leader and then teacher of the bible, missionary, youth leader, and speaker at conferences for people of all ages. Because of the integrity of the writing, one can not only see an extraordinarily effective ministry at work, but also the dependency on the Holy Spirit who guided his development. I especially recommend this book for youth workers because it reveals an approach to teenagers that makes them eager to read the Bible and to expect their youth group to be far more than a fun place to gather with peers. As we see Marty Meyer grow in his work as a maker of true disciples of Jesus, we also see key principles of a teaching style and philosophy of youth ministry emerge that constitute a handbook that every youth leader should “read, mark, learn, and inwardly digest.” But then with only minor modifications, it is also a guide to the Christian life for lay people, leadership principles for church Elders and leaders, and a practical, faith-building read for any Christian. Once you begin this book, you will finish it. It has an “epic” story to tell.

Epic Faith reminded me how vital obedience is, no matter the backlash we receive. It encouraged me to live each second for God, continually hearing His voice, and pushing through the hard times. Will be reading this book multiple times!

Marty does a very good job of sharing his story and experiences in a very real way and in the process inspiring trust in God and His plan!

I am generally stingy about giving 5-star ratings, but this book deserves it! Not only is it well-written and interesting, but it is life-transforming, as well.
I did not find in it one typo or grammatical error. There was not one misappropriated scripture or questionable doctrine. The author systematically presented the building blocks of faith -- starting with the basic beliefs typical of the average Christian, that God is real and speaks to us through His word. Then he talked about how we can be filled with His Spirit and hear God's voice directly. Finally, he shows how understanding the character of God can move ordinary individuals to pray extraordinary prayers, dream impossible dreams and perform mighty exploits by faith.
I love how Marty Meyer doesn't just tell us how this works; he shows the reader by sharing personal examples from his own life in each chapter. Through a series of purposefully chosen vignettes from his own journey of faith, he fleshes out the concepts presented in the book through a beautiful memoir of the Lord's dealings with him and his wife, Kelly.
If you are looking for a book that will help you understand what faith is and how to grow yours to epic proportions, this is the one for you. Those who struggle with academic materials will be nurtured by this living illustration of Hebrews 11 type faith in our century. Make sure you have your Bible and a box of tissues handy, because you'll need them! And while the story line is as compelling as any suspense novel, I encourage you to read it slowly, like a daily devotional, and digest each chapter as you go.
This book was given to me by the author, and it's one of the most precious gifts I have ever received. I guarantee I will be giving copies to others! I highly recommend this as required reading for every Christian. Whether you are planning to represent Christ in the ministry or the marketplace, you need to understand and apply the principles in this book. Do it as a personal study or with a group -- with or without a study guide.

What a resource of inspiration. Epic Faith shows and inspires all to truly build a lasting relationship with Jesus. I was so amazed and convicted by the testimonies of Pastor Meyer. His beginning up until now is enough for any one struggling with who they are and why they exist to know that our main purpose is to live in the presence of God. It is to fully listen and be directed by Jesus in everything that we do. I’m still in awe of what I have read. This book is such a needed resource for the church or anyone who sincerely wants to be obedient to the word of God.

An amazing story of growing ones faith one step at a time with Jesus and seeing miraculous things happen because of hearing and obeying. Loved this book and will be sharing it.

This is like reading the book of Acts with an inside scoop of the struggles, doubts, joys and triumphs of a passionate Jesus follower. Marty gives super practical examples of how God has taught him to walk in greater faith over the course of his life.
