Celebrating America's favorite cityscapes, this series combines historic interest and contemporary beauty. Growth of the City features fascinating archival photographs contrasted with specially commissioned, full-color images of the same scene today. A visual lesson in the historic changes of our greatest urban landscapes.
Beautifully designed (one of the prettier books on my shelves). Unfortunately though the text reads all too often like something from a travel agency brochure.
Good picture book on Seattle from its origin until (almost) now with a little bit of explanatory prose. Tons of typos ("Micro-Soft"), though, which drive me crazy and always make me doubt the quality of non-fiction books.
