Myth vs Science. This book changed and challenged nursing in the 1980s to look at it's often nonsensical practices. OK, nursing is undoubtedly partly art but the scientific process was sadly lacking in the 1980s and nursing education was barely recognised academically. This perceptive book anticipated the switch to nursing as an academic discipline. It might seem laughable now, but look at how far nursing has come since this! Inspiring stuff at the time for me a science graduate moving to nursing. Consider Dionysus vs Apollo if you will.
