After hearing Mr. Rao speak, I was interested to read one of his books. Some of his ideas are completely new to me; e.g. that all the violence of human history has served to prepare us to combat the causes of major extinction events. Or that people of moderate views are the ones who perpetuate injustice ("moderation is never a valid response"). And many more, all thought-provoking and discussion worthy. This is the second book I have read by Sailesh Rao. This one is a follow-up to his first book Carbon Dharma. Both of his books are well and clearly written with lots of sources cited. This book treats a lot of topics including his conversion to veganism, relating vegan principles to his Hindu background, how our caterpillar (consumer) system leads to inequality and angst.
