Bad Boy #2

Gridiron Bad Boy

Rate this book
I fought for my country.
Now, it's time to fight for my dreams.
I traded my combat boots for cleats and the battlefield for the football field.

I'd say it worked for me.

With scouts from the professional league at my games and more girls lined up outside my locker room than at the door of a club, I'm living every bachelor's American Dream.

So, why do I only dream of her?

Her beautiful brown eyes, her sweet innocence, her voluptuous curves. She’s all I want and the one thing I can’t have.

She just needs a taste. One night of passion and I’ll have her addicted.

*****

Cameron Armstrong is a cocky, arrogant, sexy, delicious...

Where was I going with this again?

He’s a combat veteran and an all-star athlete with rippled muscles and the charm that makes panties easily drop for him.

When he shows up with a swagger and a smile, I tell him two words he's never heard before: Not Interested.

But Cameron doesn’t take no for an answer.

My heart tells me to trust him.

But, with his reputation and frenzied fangirls, I can't shake my fear.

Am I just another play in his book?

GRIDIRON BAD BOY is a stand-alone, full-length romance with an HEA. For a limited time, a second full-length novel, American Bad Boy, is included!

I appear to be in the minority here and that's ok because I'm sure I have some unrealistic expectations about romance stories . Cammie was not that great off a BBF. He is 30 years old and acted like he was barely out of high school. The women didn't bother me though...whether he was 20 or 30 he would have been a man whore because apparently that is all we women fall for. Anyways...what bothered me is that I never felt he grew up. When that crap went down with the brother ... u would think that would be the epiphany but nope. He just doesn't get it. He barely scraped by that incident without serious repercussions. I almost wished he had. That's the difference in maturity. You start thinking about consequences from your actions.

Also, I get that he didn't settle when he first met her because he wasn't ready to settle. Didn't like it but respected him in the fact he knew he was ready. However when he made the decision to be with her, he still acted like an idiot. He read like a 19/20 year old which made it even harder to see any maturity from him. None of his actions or choices proved he grew up.

Chelsea I felt was a little more mature but come on...he treated her no different than the other women other than saying she was different. She would get hurt or pissed (rightfully so) but then he would say some pretty words and then all was forgiven. Chelsea, stand your ground! You were right at every turn. And the end...you could tell he didn't get what Chelsea was saying but he thought a ring would fix things. What's unbelievable is Chelsea's response. Give me a break. The relationship just wasn't believable to me that it would last.

This probably could have been a great story if it was not so short and you could see a better character arc of both characters especially the hero. I hate to say that this was a miss for me. I didn't bother with the other read included.

I'm a fan of the interracial genres then throw in a surprise baby storyline and I'm puty. What I hate is heriones that are constantly looking for fault or mistrust in their men and I felt the leading lading held this trait. Other than that, Gridiron Bad Boy: A Football Romance in my opinion was written and flowed better compared to book 1, American Bad Boy. I plan on continuing with the series that deals with drugs and acitive and retired military vets.

Cameron and Chelsea gave me a performance that had me turning the pages. While told in alternating POV, I was able to connect to both of them and feel them on a deeper level. The writing by Cleveland had me just wanting more and getting it the further I read. I was so drawn in that I just couldn't put it down. Cam had a lot to deal with in his life and things began to be too much. He had times that he was nothing more that a manchild and not knowing what to do with it. Then there was the one woman he wanted got her and then left her. Then we find out a lot of details why most of the things happened. You have to read this to get the whole picture of things. There are so serious issues dealt with. Family, personal, and life. Cam got a first and a second chance. You may even be able to say a thirds if you count hs.

I was happy to see more of Mack, Lauren, Chirs and the new arrival Honor.

You know what?

I've had this on my shelf since I finished the first book way back in 2016 and you know what? I am putting it on my nope-shelf.

Why still so salty about this series you ask? Because of the shit side characters aside from the MC. I mean why in the world would you build an awesome (and totally believable MC) and then slap some stupid ho with zero sense of direction?

I just can't ... I can't deal ya know?

So there you go, This is on my nope shelf because I can't deal with the stupidity.

Rollercoaster ride of thrills and chills

Chelsea has loved Cameron from afar. She's just been waiting for him to grow up. Cameron served time in Afghanistan so when he came home he picked up his life by going back to college. Typical jock behavior drinking, girls, and partying. His best friend Mack warns him away from Chelsea his schoolteacher sister-in-law. Great tale of love, lost dreams and expectations

No stars are brighter

No stars are brighter than Cameron and Chelsea. The grown up frat boy/ex-soldier finds the woman of his dreams. Only he doesn’t know how much he needs her. She thinks he’s childish and a guy determined to party all through his college life. These two characters are stubborn, strong individuals who list for each other but struggle with heartfelt sadness. In the end it’s what dreams are made of. Highly recommended. Great read!

Touchdown!

Well folks... Eddies does it again! ❤️

I had the pleasure of Beta Reading this one and boy, did I love it!

Grid Iron Bad Boy was such a beautiful book! Cameron and Chelsea's story sucked me in from the very first page, not letting me out until the very end.

Cameron has been infatuated with Chelsea since the first time he laid eyes on her. Knowing there was something different about her, he knew he had to have her.

The same can be said about Chelsea with Cameron. Although she knows his track record, being the star QB of his collegiate football team and all, she can't help but want him.

One thing is for certain, the chemistry between them, is completely through the roof.

Knowing how they feel about each other, are they willing to give it a shot? Is Cameron ready to be a one woman man? And is Chelsea able to look past his old Playboy ways?

Well friends, that is for you to find out.

Yet again another wonderful book from Mr. Cleveland. I loved Mack and Lauren so much from the first book, so I couldn’t wait to see what would happen with Chelsea and Camaron.

There were definitely a lot of twists and turns I didn’t expect in this book, which kept you on your toes. As soon as you think things are going smooth, something new gets thrown at you. It was great and it kept it interesting.

Overall, I highly recommend this book. Though I believe it’s considered a stand-alone novel, I do recommend reading American Bad Boy first, as it not only is a great precursor for this book, but you get a better idea of Chelsea and Cameron before you jump into this one. Can’t wait for the next book!

This was my 1st Eddie Cleveland book and won't be my last!!!! Chelsea and Cameron were great together. They brought out the best in each other. She grounded him and he made her leave her comfort zone.
I am really looking forward to Jake's book next!!! I read this book out of order so I am going to start the 1st book in the series now :)
Congrats Eddie on this wonderful read!!!

Another awesome book! Cameron and Chelsea have dreams about where they see themselves in their careers and in relationships.

Eddie's writing is perfect! His style reminds me of the Harlequin books I love to read. The descriptive scenes, comedy and romance make this a definite read!

TRUE LOVE FINDS A HOME

Before I read this book I read the positive and critical reviews to see what others thought about it; after finishing the book I decided to do my review a bit different. (First and of utmost importance is that I loved this story.) Some reviewers did not like the idea that Cameron was thirty going to Frat parties and still filling his bed notches. After leaving the military Cameron went to college to pursue football; his dream to get into the NFL. The single ex-military men I know wanted women lots of them when they came home; why because they were deprived, missed a lot while serving, some felt caged and wanted to make up for the time they lost; The Bad Boy Persona. I know mostly US Marines & Army. Cameron went to the Frat party because his teammates were there, he is their quarterback/leader, but he realizes this scene is not him anymore; part of his growing up journey. Another reviewer did not understand the concept of a thirty-year-old entering the NFL; quarterbacks, if they are great, can play for at least 10 years; so it would not be unheard that a QB age thirty would be drafted. NFL football is a lot harder than college football and a lot of rookies do not play as well as they did in college; anyone who watches the draft and the games understands this concept. Cameron was a mature quarterback, had the discipline of the military behind him, was a good leader and a good person. He did, however, need a bit of push to learn about real relationships with a woman; this was his flaw in the story and every hero needs a flaw. Then there was the issue that Cameron’s and Chelsea’s relationship was childish; I found their relationship fit the story. The back stories of both characters pull at your heart-strings and give you insight into their persona’s. Another thought that Chelsea should not have been so forgiving; when you truly love someone you accept them for who they are not who you want them to be.

The story does have an intriguing plot, a mixture of reality and fantasy, vivid powerful scene descriptions, some action, humor, family drama, and sizzling romance. The author does a fabulous job with Cameron’s grow up journey and also shows that trust and communication in a loving relationship are important. The romance between the characters is genuine and filled with devotion and the romantic scenes are written skillfully with a fiery passion. I love when I can feel and visualize a story. I found this to be a most gratifying read and it certainly fits the Bad Boy Romance. If you treasure BBR then this is a terrific book for your library. {I was gifted this book and voluntarily did this review; Without reservations, I recommend this book.

Reads like an early work

I'm not sure where this lies along the timeline of Eddie Cleveland's novels, but it feels early. Another round of proofreading would help, and the emphasis on Chelsea's caramel skin and thick thighs felt excessive and stereotyping. I don't think I saw one reference to Cameron's skin color, in contrast.

An example of the writing follows:

"I rev the throttle back on my baby and she cries out. It doesn’t matter if it’s a woman or my Honda CB100, there’s nothing like filling the air with their high-pitch squeals by riding them right."

A CB100 is a very full, durable, yet small bike - a muscular, testosterone filled football player sitting on one would look like he was astride a kid's bicycle, and really wouldn't be a good ride.

Cameron reads like a mix between a horny teenager and a frat boy, not a former soldier. His speech comparing the football field to being a soldier nearly made me DNF the thing at around the 50% mark. Other than being hung like an elephant, I'm not seeing a lot of relationship plusses to pairing with him.

Chelsea is, as with many romance heroines, a walking hypersexual doormat.

Is it awful? No, it's startlingly average, which is disappointing as I've enjoyed the author's other works much more.

If you've read any of Eddie's books you already know how good his books are! This one doesn't disappoint, I personally loved it! Cameron could of had a college football career but chose to join the forces instead. On his return he decides it's time to follow his dream to see if he can make it into the NFL. He's a cocky quarterback, with girls following and groping him wherever he goes. No complaints from him, he's loving the lifestyle of football, frat parties and many girls! girls! girls! His best mate Mack is married to Lauren with a teenage son and a baby girl on the way. Lauren's sister Chelsea is his Cryptonite, if he ever makes a move on her it may well be his end game. So he does all he can to stay the hell away from her, because he is so not ready for that. Lauren is a school teacher who never really lived life to the fullest. She is 32 and has always been mature and acted responsibly, missing out on the fun life has to offer. Lauren is drawn to Cameron but resists his immature behaviour.

Grid Iron Bad Boy by Eddie Cleveland is amazing. This is the third book in the Wounded Warrior Bad Boys series. This is the story of Cameron and Chelsea. Cameron is former military and is now the quarterback of the Colorado Buffaloes. Chelsea is a second grade teacher. Their paths keep crossing and their attraction for each other is strong. This story has angst, high and lows, twists and turns, family relationships, football, passion and romance. You will love these characters and the storyline. I definitely recommend this book.

Absolutely love this author who is now among my top favourite writers. The story of Cameron the ex military man turned American Footballer and Chelsea the sister of his Military buddy Mack's wife is an all round sexy read. This book takes you on a journey of maturing, acceptance, surprises and love which will keep you turning the pages. Absolutely loved this book and is a must read. Five stars for the storyline and content.

From bad boy to good man?

Cameron did his duty to his country, then started to make his football dreams come true. He was living the dream with football and any girls he wanted, right? Then he met his best friend's sister-in-law, Chelsea.
Was he missing something and was Chelsea what he was missing? When she was ready to move forward is he ready? Or will he screw up his future, himself?
An enjoyable love story, with a few twists and turns that keeps it interesting.

Gridiron Bad Boy

I'm speechless. Chelsea & Cameron's story overwhelmed me. It was amazing. It was emotional & heart felt. It had me near tears more than once & yelling at the pages a few times too. The way to love is not an easy road & this story showed that but once it got there it was written in the stars. I'll be reading Jake's (Cameron's brother) story next and hope Cameron & Chelsea make an appearance.

I do enjoyed the story of Cameron and Chelsea. Cameron was the star of the football team....he could have any woman he wanted. What happens when the one he wants does not want him? Can things change between them so she does fall for him? I enjoyed finding it. It was a great story of realizing what was important in life and seeing the person inside may not be as they seem on the outside.

I read this as a bonus from Navy Seal Bad Boy and found that cocky male characters seems to be the theme for Eddie Cleveland. This book was packed with action, over powering/posturing males and a lot of smoking hot sex. I found the story to be fast paced and chocked full of surprises. If you like military & football this is a good go to book for your shelves.

Was good

Was good but not great! I REALLY wanted to love this. I loved everywhere where it was going. But I felt like we kept getting the start of scenes but never got the end of them. Then I was always disappointed in Chelsea standing her ground but letting go so easily. I did like that he was so straight forward and didn't let it linger in question.

Good book

Some couples just face one obstacle after another and Chelsea & Cameron sure do. From a father that can't support his dream to a brother that can't face his own demons, Cameron has had to overcome so much. But with the love of Chelsea he gets his dream. And Chelsea has one dream but is told she will never see it happen. But never say never for these two.
