Interesting information, but dated on a lot of it now since it is over 25 years old. It’s a hard book to read aloud because of all the Japanese City names. But I would love to go visit all the amazing places talked about in this book.

I am actually a huge fan of Japan. I would love to visit the place one day. I know it is truly a land of beauty and I feel like it could be home to me. There's this attachment to Japan that I just can't explain it. I love how much the book expound on the culture of Japan. Their sports, their food, and their religion. I definitely recommend this book to children, especially if they are doing a research project about different countries around the world. It is great detail of information and beautiful pictures to go along with it.

This book very clearly portrays basic facts about Japan. It is brief enough to not feel like a textbook, yet detailed enough to help readers learn a lot about Japan. I personally did not know much about Japan before I read this book, but it helped me learn about the major trades, crops, religion, ethnicity, and landscapes of Japan. It is a very interesting book that I would recommend especially to children who have not been exposed to Japan's culture. It is a quick and interesting read.

I thought this book was really cool. Even though there are a lot of paragraphs/words on each page, I loved how many pictures there were on the pages and how they added to the information that was given about Japan. Honestly, looking at this book makes me want to go to Japan that much more. I think an elementary aged student would really like this book and learning about Japan.
