Chance ‘Gunner’ Adams –- quarterback, superstar womanizer, and panty slayer extraordinaire. He wants me. He wants me bad, but I’m not about to become another notch on his girthy bedpost. I came to Los Angeles to get away from my past, to start fresh. I don’t need trouble, especially the muscly, abs-of-marble kind.
The problem? As team masseuse it’s my job to get hands on with this as*hole. I’ll be working on every hard, intimate area of his body. But if he thinks he can treat me like any other girl who stirs his pants, he’s wrong. After all, I’m a professional… right?
We both want a happy ending, but sooner or later my past will catch up with me, and the Mob’s not big on mercy. I need more than a smart mouth. I need a savior -- one whose talent for mayhem doesn’t end when the fourth quarter’s over. For once in my life, I need someone who knows how to play dirty.

Teagan Kade thinks talking about yourself in the third person is silly, just like her collection of snow globes and rare manga. When she's not being silly, she's hanging out with her own Storm and two children in the south of Australia, dreaming of new characters and torturous ways they can get themselves into trouble. Teagan loves hearing from her readers, all of whom are as dear to her heart as salted caramel cookies. Shoot her an email at: teagan@teagankade.com. She doesn't bite.
I didn't find this story very realistic (I rarely say that about a contemporary romance!), but it certainly was entertaining.
Unbelievable aspects 1. A massage therapist with less than a year's experience is hired to service an NFL team. 2. A playboy professional football star gives up his playboy ways for the team's new massage therapist. 3. This football star and a teammate are so concerned about the emotional well-being of the team's massage therapist that they ask the team's manager to investigate her past. 4. The same football star puts his own life on the line to protect his girlfriend of less than a month who's being pursued by hitmen hired by the Mob. 5. When the FBI arrests the two hitmen, suddenly all is well. Cause the Mob couldn't possibly hire more hitmen, right?
Nonetheless, once I suspended reality, the love story was actually quite endearing.
I gotta be honest,I wasn't expecting much.. But I was Very happily surprised!!!
Honestly I wasn't expecting much between a title like "Drilled" 1/2 naked guy on the cover surrounding it I saw it by more 1/2 naked almost cheesy looking covers like Beast Brothers,HUGE X2 & X3 and tons Step Brother romances,No offense I just could expect much.. But their was just something about the books description that drew me in and I had to try it on KU and I'm soo thrilled I did and like my 1st trip to Dollar Tree I'm glad I didn't let false judgements stop me,both a very pleasant surprise ;) I'd forgotten like that just like a trip to DT ( Dollar Tree) you never know what treasures you might find inside .... Drilled was honestly a very sweet love story, sure there was plenty of sex because Chance was rather insatiable but then again once Sam finally lowered. Her walls and let him in,( literally and figuratively) soo was she
A Delightful And Real Love Story, Chance And Sam's Chemistry Scorches! The Danger And Suspense Are Sometimes More Convenient Than Realistic.
Samantha Carter, twenty-six, is happy to begin her new job as team massage therapist for the L.A. Wildcats. Although she has no remaining family, she descends from a family of healers dating back two hundred years. Helping others is programmed into her DNA, so it comes as no surprise to her that she has been told she has magic hands.
This job is Sam's lucky break after her disastrous first attempt at a job as a massage therapist in Las Vegas six months ago. She had been naive to accept that job, and it cost her dearly. She wishes she hadn't needed to leave her friends in Las Vegas behind, but thank goodness she was alerted by a co-worker that she had been blamed for the raid on the establishment the next day.
She had learned from her past mistake, though. This was a legit job and she had researched the players when she got hired on. Yet as ornery as she expected Chance Adams to be, she certainly hadn't considered that she would immediately find herself in the same situation that ended her first job. This time she just had to find a way deal with it professionally.
Chance Adams, twenty-six, is a real American hero living the American dream. He has wanted to play football his entire life and is one of the few walk-ons to make the team instead of being drafted. Today the Wildcats quarterback with the runaway ego is a household name. He was orphaned when he was young and served eighteen months in Afghanistan before he completed college. He joined the Wildcats three years ago, along with his best friend and fellow war vet David Tarryron, wide receiver. But while David is happily married with children, Chance is a perpetually DTF playboy.
Chance and Sam's first encounter is a total disaster. Chance later realizes that things are falling apart for him, and traces the cause back to his session with Sam. With some guidance from David, Chance begins to understand the error of his ways and recognizes that he is lonely despite all the women he surrounds himself with.
Chance and Sam's romance is thoughtful and sweet. Chance doesn't hesitate to commit to doing what he has to in order to get what he wants. He changes overnight from obnoxious flirt to patient suitor. Sam has to learn to trust Chance's intentions, as well as to allow herself to just relax and enjoy life. With Chance, Sam learns to feel confident and comes out of her shell. The shy girl is replaced with a flirty woman. Chance has considerable stamina, so their chemistry drips off the page. It is not surprising he is into PDA! Their story alone is delightful and feels real, but there is an element of danger and suspense added to the mix which ramps up all their feelings and emotions. The end provides a lovely HEA that is well-deserved!
Chance and Sam's story is a fairly easy read. It is nicely written, with just a few proofing errors and a brief confusing passage. The POV alternates between Chance and Sam, with a few passages thrown in from Michael and Eizo DiLucca. The plot is nicely developed with an element of suspense. Although he claims to have great intuition, Chance's suspicion and his reaction to it still seem extreme. Some of this part of the story feels more convenient than realistic, but not so much that it ruins the story as a whole. The characters are very well-defined given the length. It is easy to fall in love with Chance and Sam. Chance is swoon-worthy! Sam did appear to be out of character, though, when she was a little too eager to please her new girlfriends - speaking too openly and drinking when she doesn't have a history of drinking. The supporting characters are enjoyable as well. Morgan and David are great. I rate this book four stars.
I received a free advance copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This book was alright! I couldn’t get I’m board with Sam’s character. I felt the love that Chance had for Sam but not vice versa.
When Sam meets Chance for the first time I don’t feel the connection. When chance meets Sam for the second time I feel the connection where chance has feelings for Sam. But I couldn’t get on board with David, Morgan and Chance having the feeling Sam was in trouble. The whole story line of running from the mob is kind of hard to believe. If the mob want to take you out they will! No matter how many witnesses there are. The side of the story where the hitman are narrating doesn’t feel right in the story. Maybe if we had a little more insight into the background or more about them it would feel better. I also felt when Sam’s character was narrating it was more about the sex, than the relationship, that maybe why I don't get the connection with her to Chance! I would’ve also like to see more of Sam’s girlfriends from the apartment complex in the storyline.
I wish there would’ve been more than one Epilogue either to see their wedding or the proposal. We know their daughter is one year old, But it doesn’t tell how far we went in the future.
I enjoyed the story, at about 50% it gets much better. There is no reason for Chances instant infatuation with the h. He goes from sexual harassment to doting boyfriend in like 2 pages. It's weird and doesn't flow. Some of the terms used during the steamy scenes are huge no's for me, such as member and it's used more than once. The H is ex military, has guns, but doesn't have one at the end to protect the h?? The storyline is ok and I like the interactions between characters after everything is established. Most of this wasn't my preference, but may be someone else's.
Chance "Gunner" Adams is a quarterback, superstar womanizer, and panty slayer extraordinaire. Sam unknownly gets involved with the Las Vegas Mob as she accepted a job as a massage therapist. After finding out the truth Sam leaves & moves away to start a new job as a masseuse for Wildcats Football Team. But what follows her is the mob. Chance & Sam's story is sweet, sexy, funny, & just enough suspense to keep your interest. I volunteerly reviewed an advanced reading copy of this book.
This was a bonus book in Hustle but I had read it before, so I think it may have been a bonus read in another one as well.
I really liked it. The relationship between the massage therapist and the footballer was a lot of fun to watch develop. The conflict, although a little far-fetched, was still believable. Overall, a good story that was worth the second read.
Good book, nice read. Authors need to figure out the difference between the Corps and the Army. They are as different as England and the USA. Stop saying they are in the Corps and then saying they are Army Rangers! This is a good story and well written, except for this error. Editors should catch this stuff.
Eh, the H is way to much of a man child. Through the whole book. And his sleeze in the beginning was just icky. I feel like we went from a man slut, turned a page, and now we're supposed to believe he's in it for the long haul? Nah.
Hot pro quarterback and the team’s new massage therapist
Chance gets what he wants including women fir days. However the team therapist, Sam, isn’t falling for his lines. What’s a golden bad boy to do but step up his game.
DNF at about the 3rd page. Should have read preview before buying even if it was free. His behavior was horrible and I knew her inner dialogue was going to only get worse.
This is the story of Sam, who is a massage therapist, and Chance the star quarterback. When Sam leaves her job in LA in a hurry, she ends up taking a job with the Wildcats Football Team. Chance is arrogant and is used to getting his own way in everything, especially women. When Sam rejects his advances he is shocked, as he is not used to being turned down, he tries a new approach, which shows that he has a softer and more protective side to him. This is a fun, humorous read which has suspense, twists and turns, and love. The attraction between these two is hot, steamy, and intense. Teagan has written a wonderful story, and I was intrigues and captivated from the very beginning. I recommend her work to all, and I look forward to reading more. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Readers Copy of this book.
The book was quick in a insta love way, but personally I was hoping for more. The story was the making of a good tale it just needs a better story timeline and more details.
I received this ARC book free in exchange for a honest review. This book is hot. Chance is a cocky famous football player who plays the field very well. but when he meets Sam his world changes. Sam is a naive woman on the run, just wanting to help people. The meeting is hot and their relationship becomes explosive.
I received an ARC in exchange for a honest review. Wow what a wonderful story. I couldn't stop reading it. Sam and Chance were just perfect for each other.
This was a hot sports romance! Some really great sex scenes with a dash of kink. I was a pinch hesitant to read this because I don't really like to read about arrogant manwhores, but after an initial jerky douchebag meeting between the main characters, the main male character's personality really went the other way. I think his turn around wasn't very believable though because it happens within a few pages, but I didn't mind because I would have hated it if the author went more into his douchebaggery. It also made me not trust his intentions for a little while because I did feel like it was such a change for him. In Drilled, Chance is a hot shot quarterback on a LA football team, and Chance has a reputation for being a ladies man and very full of himself. Sam has just been hired as the team masseuse after leaving a bad job in Vegas that has links to the Mob. Chance wants Sam, but Sam isn't sure about him because of his reputation. I liked the suspense with the Mob, and I liked the football aspect. The writing was good, and the sex scenes were hot! I don't really like books that take place in LA because of the false aspect of a lot of people, but it wasn't too bad in this books, but I definitely could have done without the name dropping. The author would mention famous actors often as people the characters knew, such as Clint Eastwood and Matt Damon, etc., and I wasn't feeling it. There is definitely a lot of sex scenes in this book; maybe a bit too many, but they were all interesting. I've never read anything by Teagan Kade, but I enjoyed this, so I will definitely be checking out more of her books!
