Hawk's Way #2

Hawk's Way: Adam

Rate this book
Meet Hawk's Way's sexiest cowboys! From New York Times bestselling author Joan Johnston comes a story of a cherished member of the Whitelaw family as she finds the life she's always wanted.

Adventurous and stubborn Tate Whitelaw has had enough of her three overprotective brothers. After growing up under their watchful eyes, she can't live up to the expectations everyone seems to have for her. To prevent them from further meddling in her life, she leaves the only family she's ever known—and runs straight into the arms of hardened rancher Adam Phillips.

Adam has had enough experience with misfits and strays that he knows a damsel in distress when he sees one. He's in no mood to deal with the spirited women, but he can't seem to keep her out of his heart…or his bed. But when Tate's brother track her down with shotguns in hand, Adam will have to wrangle her heart, before he loses her for good.

Tate leaves home under cover of the night because she's tired of her
two older overbearing brothers who run off every man she dates.
When her old '51 Chevy pickup with the rusty radiator & the skipping
carburetor breaks down, she hitch hikes.
After being turned down for jobs at several ranches there's one left.
She asks to be dropped off at Lazy S Ranch. The guy who gave her a ride
turned out to be its owner. He hires her.
Adam and Tate are attracted to each 0ther. They become romantically
involved, but then her br0thers sh0w up to take her back home.
Kind 0f a h0key story but still fun t0 read.
Short--just 174 pages.

First of I felt the title is misleading when the book starts the 23-yr-old heroine is fed up of her brothers interfering in her love life and she leaves. The hero basically catches her hitchhiking and rescues her because she reminds him of his sis who didn't meet a good end. Honestly, I don't know what is with the heroines who are basically willing to be doormats for heroes. The hero treats her badly, doubts her fidelity and yet his one avowal of love and she comes running. The best part this is short.

Sometimes you can't go wrong with a little bit of late 80's, early 90's cheese. But sometimes you can. This book wasn't terrible, but I also found myself rolling my eyes a few times. I didn't mind the characters, but some of them seemed kind of dumb. Because I am frantically trying to reach my reading goal this year, I will be reading two more books from this series. Wish me luck!

HAWK’S WAY: ADAM by Joan Johnston

A sweet romance about Tate Whitelaw, who ran away from home, but she finds love along the way. Adam Phillips is in no mood to deal with the spirited and stubborn Tate until her brothers track her down.

It is part of the 2-novels deal found in HEART OF THE EAGLE by Lindsay McKenna

This is the second in Ms. Johnston's Hawk's Way series. Tate Whitelaw is rebelling from her controling older brothers and runs away. She finds a job on Adam's ranch, while trying to keep her whereabouts a secret. Adam doesn't know what to do with a fireball like Tate. One moment she makes him want to take her over his knee and the next he wants to kiss her silly. This is my third read by Ms. Johnston and her talent for wit and dialogue makes her books fun to read.

Good book. LOL! The brother thing is really awesome. I love it till the end and the short hair is hot but I prefer long haired girl and it would've been more fun with the tangling.

Maybe a bit more at the end would be cool like telling how the kid looks like.

Yang ini cerita tentang Adam dipairingkan dengan Tate Whitelaw. Lumayan sih ceritanya. Dan chemistrynya steaming hot. Awalnya si Adam berusaha menolak godaan karena beranggapan dia terlalu tua buat si Tate, tapi ternyata dia gak mampu. Hahaha.... yang namanya cinta memang gak mengenal umur kok.
