Book 2, To the Barrens, is now available right here on Amazon!

Life was grim in Nick Mercator’s suburban neighborhood after the power grid went down on that summer day. Central air and mini-vans were out. Spoiled food, outhouses, and wild-west lawlessness were in. Before long, Nick and his group were in serious trouble. The gravest danger people faced turned out to be each

READ This Book. Finished in one sitting

I've been looking for a series like this for a while. Something different than zomb-poc. This is a well written book with strong characters and a good story line. You owe it to yourself to read this. If you're from Jersey it's that much better as this takes place in Cherry Hill. Enjoy.

Quite the surprise

I chose a five star after trudging through the first few chapters because this story pulled together and became exciting. It was a nice surprise as I was having a hard time following the first few chapters. It's well worth the read and you do get engrossed very quickly. The ending was a grabber and made me want to buy the next one immediately. Ill definitely be awaiting the next book!

I wavered on the 3.5 side because there were some very slow spots in the story and the group they meet at the end was a little too cartoonish. It kept my interest, so worth a half star. It was a bit refreshing to have a main character who hadn't prepped for this disaster and/or was a martial arts or special ops star.

Realism at it's finest. Our main character is a flawed man, and the author delves deeply into it. There are many hard questions and issues that our group faces. I will say that the book got hard to read in parts. It seemed to drag in places, but later on those drags were very important.

Apocalyptic reads are what I enjoy most at this juncture in my life. I believe that some very hard times are in the near future, and reading many many novels of thus type help me prepare for the SHTF times that ARE coming. Now...onto #2.

Great read

Really good read. Normally don't write reviews on books but this was easy to make it seem as though it could take place in our society.Enjoyed your style of writing thanks

Overall, quite enjoyable

Though I did have issues with some character designs and with the story development in spots, I generally liked this book. It was entertaining and relatively free of the serious editing issues that seem to plague so many books nowadays.

I missed sleep over this one.

I would have given this teaser a 5 but the F word kept popping up. I just cannot stand reading it and I can't overlook it. I loved the story line and the characters. It felt like I could have been a part of the group. I'll be looking forward to the next part.

Interesting

This book was different in that the characters were not ready at all. At first I couldn't figure out how they would make it but I became more interested and like how the author moved the story. Cliff hanger alert! Now I want to read the next one.

A good, gritty story

I enjoyed this book very much. The characters come across as real people with real flaws. It was kind of fun to read a "prepper" novel with characters who had done no prepping. The book is well written and has some nice plot twists.

Teotwawki

The drunk guys group miraculously gets saved. Actually this is a well written story just that the plot is mundane.
