2.5 stars. I was going to round down, but for some reason rounded up.
Extremely cliched! Very very predictable. And really mechanical paint by the number romance.
I just never warmed up to the heroine!
I'm sure she's a nice woman! But I just didn't SEE it. I was told she is the sweetest curvy blonde Britney lookalike ever possible. I didn't see any evidence. I didn't see any evidence she's a bad one either. But all I saw was she was a very ordinary college dropout broke single mum working hard to make ends meet with a cliched bad ex.
Don't see what the hero was attracted to.
Hero was classic OTT possessive alpha. It was easier to warm up to him.
I also didn't see the process of love happening even with the OTT Insta love/lust!

The couple: Bear (Max) and Grace

Romance genre: MMA
Series: Pounding Hearts
Length: 227 pages

Plot: Max and Grace meet each other while out with their friends (from Slamming Demon). Grace doesn't get to go out a lot since she's the mother of a young child. so she decides to make the most of it, and she goes home with Max. She passes out though and they don't actually get around to any shenanigans. When she wakes up in the morning, they're interrupted by a call from her ex, who is complaining, yet again, about having to take care of their daughter. Instead of being upset, though, Max is excited to spend more time with Grace, and so he drives her to pick up her daughter, Hope. He continues to get to know both Grace and Hope, and he's already decided that she's the one for him. But Grace's horrible ex continues to bother them, so Max might need to pull in a little of experience from the ring to deal with a bully.

Commentary: This is my favorite of the series. I love Bear, a big hulking guy who is squishy inside, with his need to knock up Grace and his giant crush on Britney Spears. In fact, that's what first draws him to Grace- she's a Britney lookalike. But that's not what makes him want to stick around. When he meets Grace, he sees a total knockout who could be his other half - the woman he wants to marry and have more kids with. The relationship between Bear and Hope was so sweet - Hope (like most kids) intuitively understood that Bear was on her side, as opposed to her biological father, who was a total jerk. I've read this book at least three times, and will certainly read it again.

Next book in the series: Breaking Beast

Tldr: if you like cuddly grizzlies and don't mind Insta love or editing issues then you'll probably really like that. If you are a grammar Nazi who likes romantic development probably skip it
This book is better split into beginning, middle, and end rather than my traditional categories. The beginning is really weird. Home boy has a Britney Spears poster and playlist. Though the actual words aren't exchanged til later it's Insta love. Tbh I actually didn't mind it as much as usual but there were a couple of stray comments that made it bad, mostly about him wanting to put a baby in her stomach (his phrasing not mine). Throughout the book he has this creepy obsession with getting her pregnancy despite the fact that they barely know each other. Middle: pretty enjoyable and easy reading. The couple was cute together and the kid was fucking adorable...And I usually don't even like kids. Bear, though too hairy for me personally, was a great book boyfriend other than the preggo thing. I have a special place in my heart for big alpha dudes who happen to be softies with their people. My biggest complaint about the middle is how the move in is handled. Now I didn't mind them doing it so much though I thought it was a bit early given that a kid was involved. But the way the heroine thought it out really turned me off her and it. She doesn't really seem to think about the potential consequences of moving in with someone she's known less than a month before agreeing. She admits to herself that she's not quite sure about it, but rather than saying hey I need some time to make sure this is right for my kid..saying anything really she's just kinda like oh well I wouldn't have won and he seems sure enough. Umm that's not how you parent kid comes first always. As I prepared to write this review I realized the middle was such an easy read because there really wasn't anything going on. It was just pieces of their lives not even really developing anything. End: there was some plot from the middle that concluded and really didn't do anything for the book. All the drama really was low key. It was almost like the author thought out this really dramatic plot but then took a Xanax the day she wrote these scenes. Also because I had kinda broken the cute couple spell of being lost in their world I noticed quite a few words. The other parts of the book could've used another editing pass for flow but either they had far fewer errors or I missed them because I never would've made it to the end if I'd seen that many errors at the beginning.

Growly Bear Gets His Girl(s)

I've read this book (and this series) so many times that it's become a place to stop in and visit old friends from time to time.

Bear is the perfect blend of tough fighter and soft cuddly teddy bear when it comes to his girls. There is something about those two extremes that I can't get enough of.

Hope is an adorable scene stealer and I love that she is such an important part of Bear ans Grace's romance.

A must read series and book if you love a big, strong, tough MMA fighter who has a squishy inside only for his girl.

Very safe, very meh book. It starts off with the h waking up in the Hs bed wondering how she got there. It’s a little insta love and cringy when she wakes up to see a Britney Spears poster in his room since he’s a fan 😂 like…..whut?

There is lots of ex boyfriend from high school drama that was just meh to me and the most ott thing he does is say he wants her to have his babies and be his. Kind of surprised that I wasn’t more into this since Izzy sweet and sean moriarty are usually great

It was meh

When you come across a MMA fighter who is literally the size of a bear…hot…sexy…filthy mouth…alpha male…and a huge fan of Britney Spears (pump the breaks)…. You kind of have no idea what you’re getting into, right?

I was thoroughly surprised with how much I actually loved this cheesey, insta-love infested story of a MMA fighter who instantly wants nothing more than to claim the Britney-look-alike single mom, Grace and her little girl, Hope.

This story is full of just smexy feels and you honestly find yourself not caring about how quickly things move between Max “Bear” Harper and Grace.

You also will need a bottle of water and a fan with how hot things get between the sheets with these two…your heart will melt with how seamlessly Max loves Hope, Grace’s daughter…and you will want to beat your chest when he gets all alpha hotness to protect his girls against the ministrations of Grace’s ex and Hope’s father, Carson.

I wasn’t’ aware there were two previous stories of the series, but that is okay. I got the gist of it all and loved every single character who took part of this story.

Opposites Attract

Max and Grace meet at a time when they need someone in their corner. Grace is a hard working single mother being harassed by her ex. Max is an mma fighter with a chance at the championship.
The spark of attraction ignites between Max and Grace. They have a chance of having a good life together, but things get ugly when Carson (that weenie) threatens to take Graces' daughter Hope away from her if she doesn't go back to him. Not if Max has anything to say about it. He's bonded with Hope and Grace. They belong to him and he protects what's his.
This is a good story. The love scenes are steamy, there's action and suspense and then there are the tender moments between Grace, Hope and Max. Just wish there were men like Max around.

I thought the H was fantastic. However, the story with the h's ex was very disappointing. He was a bad guy that never cared about her or his child. This is such a cliché. Why can't the ex ever be a good person? There are many reasons why couples break up, it doesn't always have to be because of cheating or the person being a jerk. The h was another cliché because she was a struggling, good hearted person who made many sacrifices for her kid. She is "rescued" by a wealthy, strong, and manly H who adores her and her kid.

2.5⭐️

Okay let me first start by saying I hate giving negative reviews so I like to point out the things I liked/enjoyed or that stood out..

This is my first couple author book I’ve read, I have read duel authors before but never a couple… I can’t imagine that’s easy, I know me and mine couldn’t do it- we are too different 😆 so I really admire them for this. I will be looking at some of their others.

This story for me was just a bit too ordinary, I don’t know how I came across it so long after it’s been released. I read the blurb and really liked the sound of it.

Bear an MMA fighter.. is a big softie really even if he doesn’t sound or look it. He is protective of those he loves, loyal, scary and down right adorable really.

Grace a young single mum, just doing what she can to get by and provide for her daughter. Her daughter by the way so freakin’ adorable!

This is an insta-lust/love book. It moves really quickly, bear is near enough straight away dreaming about making grave pregnant.

I liked the secondary characters in this read too, the banter is good.

The story of Max (Bear) and Grace is a classic one. It’s was sort of predictable in the sense that Grace is single mom with an expression who is a scumbag who only goes after Grace once he realizes what he has lost. I did enjoy reading about the relationship that Max built with Hope and was just as protective and possessive of her as he was of her mother. The storyline behind he man is what makes the book worth reading.

Following Bears MMA career is exciting but I think the part that was the best is this whole book was the fact that he took time for Krista. He made a place in his heart for her as well and didn’t just take pity on her. He truly treated her as a person and it was heart breaking when she passed. The fact that Grace supported this relationship as well shows her character as well.

This is a good read and also gives follow up about some of the characters from earlier in the series .

Who doesn't like a man the size of a grizzly bear that listens to Britney Spears? Meet Max, aka Bear, a 264 pound fighting machine with a soft core and love for Britney Spears. When Max meets Grace he is instantly smitten with her and her little daughter Hope. Graces ex Carson quickly becomes a thorn in his eye and Max turns into a caveman when it comes to protecting Grace and Hope. Even though Max is as tough as a man can get, a young girl dying of Leukemia brings him to his knees. Krissy is remarkable and her story will bring you to tears. Little Hope is just a spitfire and her antics made me laugh out loud.
Bucking Bear is book 3 in the series and absolutely amazing. I fell in love with Max's character instantly. He is a big teddy bear and such a caveman when it comes to the two most important females in his life. Incredible book by a amazing authors. This is a must read.

This was 3.5 stars for me.

I enjoyed it well enough, it was a fun, fast-paced read - but the insta-love was not believable, and having a guy start defining a woman and her child as "his property" after meeting them one time was a little skeevy to me. Grace, the heroine, is a woman who was apparently burnt by love before, so I had a hard time justifying her willingness to jump right into a serious relationship, skipping milestones left and right, and potentially exposing her daughter to pain.

If you're just in it for a quick read, it's fine. WAY more sex than dialogue in this one, but hey, nothing wrong with that.

Loved it! i read this book first in the series, not knowing it was a part of one and wish I had read parts 1 and 2 first, so Im going to back track and read chase and Bretts stories asap!
Sports romance are a fav of mine and this one did not fail. The story was about Bear (Max) and Grace as well as graces daughter Hope. Bear and Hopes relationship was adorable and the way he always protected his girls from the douche of an ex makes you sigh and swoon. Am now a fan of this series and am looking forward to reading the whole set

I absolutely loved Bucking Bear - it was fun, sweet and sexy as hell.

One of my favourites scenes was right at the beginning - Grace peeking under the covers to check out Bear’s package lol.

Bear was a sweet and protective. On the outside he looked intimidating and scary but in his case looks were seriously deceiving.

The connection between Grace and Bear was electric and explosive. I enjoyed their interactions and I liked the fact that both of them embraced their feelings rather than denying them.

Max and Grace…favorite so far!

Omg this has to be my favorite so far. Seeing the Carson, Brett, and Max dynamic is awesome but the relationship between Max and Grace is fire! The chemistry leaps off the pages and the spice is extra spicy. In typical Izzy/Sean fashion there is an insta-love factor but it is absolutely adorable and I loved every second. If you like their books then this will definitely be a favorite!
I’m not usually a sports-romance reader but I swear Izzy and Sean can do no wrong!

so good!!!

Loved the story!! Grace is an amazing mother and hope is absolutely adorable. The story starts with a bang, but not actually haha. Bear/max and grace have wicked chemistry. They are their other halves and just mesh together. Watching the morning after scene unfold was hilarious. Her trying to sneak a peak was so funny. Loved how Alpha and possessive and protective max is but when it comes to his girls he will do anything for them. Loved how the team of guys rallied behind them and are a family. So good.

I wouldn't run from that bear ;)

Max and Grace are flat out sexy together, but throw in that little munchkin, Hope and they are too cute for words. This story had it all. It was full of action, it was sexy, romantic, funny and cute. It also included Brett, Chase and Dale. Those three are hilarious. I was glad Grace hooked up with a great guy. She and Hope definitely needed and very much deserved a good man in their lives. The way the guys handled that dirtbag was priceless. I only wish I knew what Dale said to him. This book gets two thumbs up bi***es! Lol

Happy Bear Family

I loved Grace when she was introduced as Mandy's friend in Book 2. In this book she is such an awesome mom who is just trying to provide for her daughter. Meeting someone like Max/ Bear was not something she thought would ever happen. He looks like a monster but he is nothing but a gentle teddy bear. I loved everything about this story. Especially since the single mom found love for her and her child.

Max and Grace

If you're following the series you will remember grace from mandy's story. We find out here what happened after grace got pregnant and where the baby daddy went. Max, your favorite fighter with the Britney spears crush is smitten and sets his sights, mind and hands on Grace. The chemistry between them was great. And the addition of Hope, Grace 's daughter was mastered without hiccups. Another great romance to gobble up!

This book was so bad

- Skim read
- No substance to this book
- The way the author wrote the H’s POV was horrendous; it was impossible to like him

- The H was so obsessed with sex and I felt no real love towards the FMC from him
- The author really leaned into the stereotypical macho male role with the Hero; the constant swearing and showing off his size, his strength just gave me the ick

Would not read again.

Read all 3 books now and Have to say I loved them, being really honest book 3, I didn't really fancy from the write and wasn't going to bother reading but am I glad I did! As much as I loved the first 2 books Bears book was my favourite 😊 But also the fact that all 3 books meshed so perfectly together was brilliant, it brought so much to the 3rd book! Loved them! 😊

New favorite. Max, while fiction I get it I'm not delusional, is 100% my type. Mix in Grace the single mom (I'm also a single mom) and this one just really spoke(?) to me. The way Bear is with Grace's daughter Hope right from the start is beautiful. I love this group and how loyal and protective they are of each other.

This book was hot!

This book started off hot and ended hot! I loved that Max automatically took to Grace's daughter right from the beginning. I loved that Max wanted to care for both Grace and Hope and the softness he had for them under all his MMA hardness. This was my first book by these authors but certainly won't be my last!

Even bears can comfort...

Grace has held out hope for Carson to want to be a father, but when he does is it really what's best for Hope and herself?
Max thought his dream girl couldn't be trumped... until he saw Grace.
With so much going on for these two, and how different their lives are, is there any chance of a happily ever after???
Happy reading : )

I didn't want it to end

I love when there is a happily ever after for single moms. And I dare anyone not to fall in love with bear. Hot as f..k, gentle, kind, strong.. just wow. And for once in a single mom story there was a woman strong but not too strong. It was an awesome balance.
