This book features a number of stunning photos of U.S. military aircraft that were in service in the 1980s. Brief descriptions of each of the featured aircraft are included that cover mission capabilities, crew complement and weapons systems as appropriate.
Great photography, minimum text - this is a coffee table book of USA military aircraft. Published in 1988, the new generation of jets are not included. Still, if you like quality photography of late 20th century American jet aircraft, you will like this one.
I particularly enjoyed this book because my squadron of VMA-311 was featured in the photos on pages 98-99, 100, and 102-103. I even think I was flying in one of those Skyhawks during the photo shoot!
a good book for plane interested people wanting to see pictures and tidbits of information on jets. very out of date but still useful as it’s an insight to military aviation history. not too much info but still good.
Beautiful photography. While the planes are a bit dated... they represent the most common fighter planes on display at military aircraft museums. This makes a great introductory reference for enthusiasts and docents.
