Make Me Beg by Rebecca Brooks was a very heartfelt and entertaining read. I really enjoyed it.

When I started reading Make Me Beg I wasn't sure I was going to like/connect with Connor.
To me he came across a little too cocky and a little too sure of himself. But the more time I spent hearing his thoughts the more he grew on me.
I loved his passion and I loved seeing him and Mack together. They made me laugh with their banter and antics. They truly had a love/hate relationship going on.

Make Me Beg is the second story in Rebecca Brooks’ Men of Gold Mountain series. The title (and cover) likely make you think that it’s going to contain some pretty steamy scenes, and you wouldn’t be wrong. The title also signals the way the main characters treat each other for most of the story, one or the other always having to come out on top in their passionate relationship. The truth is that they won’t find

ARC Review: Make Me Beg (Men of Gold Mountain) by Rebecca Brooks

The sparks start early and the passion quickly catches flame between Mack and Connor. I love the way she knows what she wants and means what she says. Connor has a mouth that's as dirty as his fantasies, but a heart as pure as the driven snow. With Make Me Beg, Rebecca Brooks strikes the match that sets the stage for some real explosive action in and out of the bedroom. Personality meets temptation, with a ton of heart for good meas

Connor and Mack? Bring it on, and wow did she ever! Book 2 in the Gold Mountain series is crazy good. Connor, dear Lord deliver me. The mouth on that man.
Connor is Austin's friend from book one. You remember him right? Ok, put it on the list after you read this one.
Mack, bartender and Connor the chef are in their usual head to head, argue/ playful banter. Mack thinks he's a man whore and has no problem telling him to his face; and everything else she dislikes about him. The banter between these

The back and forth between the Mack and Conner is amazing. The hate/love going on jumps off the page. The chemistry between the two is sizzling. I loved every aspect of this story and loved getting to know Mackenzie and Conner and see how their Bar/restaurant would turn out!

This is a story of two people who have known each for three years, they're not sure if they really like each other, but they end up falling in love. It's been done many times but NOT LIKE THIS! Rebecca writes books that draw you in and keep you there till the last word is read. MacKenzie and Connor have wonderful banter that grates on each other but is a blast to read. The bar is going under and they both have an opportunity to be part owners with Sam (who we met in book 1) but neither agrees wi ...more
Mackenzie and Connor

First lets start off my saying that this is a new author for us and we enjoyed our first read by them and will be looking forward to continuing this series.

I loved the character's in this story they were easy to relate to.The plot was fairly simple yet engaging enough to keep your interest.

I always pick a favorite character in a story and mine is going to MacKenzie.I loved how driven she was.I found her to be feisty, funny, smart, sexy, sensitive, out going and one who loves with
Mackenzie Ellinsworth gets a chance to partner and create a bar and restaurant that could help her achieve something she has always wanted, the only hitch she has is her partner is Connor Branding. Connor has made it clear he was not building roots, even as a chef at their current restaurant he always seemed to have one foot out the door and one foot in bed with a revolving door of women.

When weather plays a part with the help of some drinking Mack and Connor come together in an explosive way.

You know what I really love in a book … when both leads are truly passionate. Honestly, Mackenzie and Connor both were super alpha and it made their chemistry that much more passionate and scorching. I loved the tug-of-war they played with each other. Even I loved to hate them ;) lol They sparred really well together. Their wit and banter was always very intense and just really enjoyable to read. It made for a really fast read for me.

I loved that Rebbeca Brooks made tending bar more than just a

This is the first of the Men of Gold Mountain series I've read and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The banter between Connor and Mack was hilarious to read albeit frustrating to them. Mack tried to deny the sexual tension between them while Connor never did give up. Everyone in town could see where their relationship was headed but them, if they weren't too stubborn to realize it. I really loved Mack's friend Abbi, who had a way of "laying it all out there" sometimes causing more trouble than good.
I’d start off by saying that I really do like Rebecca Brooks’s writing: there's her ability to tease out nuanced emotions and so finely articulating the pain of being left behind and the walls people build to protect themselves.

The problem was, I didn’t think there was very much to like about Connor: a privileged bummer, not wanting to commit to anyone or business or job with a lack of motivation and drive just bothered me. It’s probably my own preference for male protagonists to be at least mo

This is a love/hate romance story. I just couldn't put this book down till I'd finished the last page. The chemistry between the characters is set the pages alight hot. The background story of these characters is fantastic. These book can be read as stand alone. This book has a fantastic ending. You are always in for a fantastic read with this author. I can't wait to read more from this author in the future.

Rebecca Brooks proves that frenemies-to-lovers can be hot as hell in Make Me Beg . Connor and Mackenzie are two interesting, flawed characters with chemistry so appealing I devoured their story in one sitting.

Connor is a chef, a playboy, and a man who hasn’t ever committed to putting down roots. Gold Mountain was just supposed to be his stop onto bigger and better things, but there’s something about the town – an

Mackenzie Ellinsworth has a chance to open her own bar and restaurant, so she has a plan how is should go. Nowhere in her plan has a hot playboy stepping in and taking over. Mack has no time nor inclination for one-night stands, so if Connor wants to work with her, he's going to have to keep his hands to himself. Connor Branding is going to prove to Mack that he's not the man whore that she believes him to be, especially since they will be working closely by opening the place together. Make Me B ...more

This was a fun read overall.

Here we have Mack and Connor, two people who hate each other, that now have to work together if they want to make the new bar/restaurant a success.

I really liked Mack and her badassness, totally in charge of everything. But I loved her softer side even better. This girl went through some pretty crappy things, yet still she can think of a better future for herself. Most of all, I loved her strength, even when that made her build walls around her heart to let

I have a hard time connecting with the Hero and Heroine. I find them both to be unlikable and annoying.

Hero was a womanizer, who expected people to respect him and take him seriously with a snap of his finger. I guess nobody tell him respect is to be earned, not demanded......

Heroine blow hot and cold constantly. One minute she is hot for the hero, and next minute, in a blink of an eye, she is cold, aloof and rude.

I did finish the book, with plenty of skimming and skipping.

Make Me Beg is novel two in the Men of Gold Mountain series so if you’ve read first book then you’ve meet both Mac and Connor. Since I did read the first book in this series I was interested to read how it would play out between these two. And they didn’t disappoint! This novel was funny, intense, intriguing, and with page burning scenes. I love Mac because she is just an all-around bad ass heroine, while Connor is funny and captivating hero. I loved these two together and I especially enjoyed r ...more

I'll keep this short and sweet. Better than I thought it would be. First let me say the sex scenes are hot , hot, hot with a side of steamy. I liked Mack and Connor. It's a fun read but Mack's backstory adds a dose of seriousness . Find read to get yourself in the summer read mood.

This was a hot and steamy, yet heartfelt romance. Ms. Brooks took a love-hate relationship and made it into much more than a clichéd trope.

Mack & Connor's story reminds us that just because you've known a person for a while, it doesn't mean you know everything about them.

The banter between the two main characters was one of the things I loved about this book. The other was how the author made the transitions from anger to passion effortlessly.

Rebecca Brooks is a new to me author and one that I'm looking forward to more from. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised to find myself absolutely in love with these characters! The sizzling attraction between Mack and Connor was obvious from the very first page and their chemistry just got hotter and hotter. Mack and Connor both had some serious issues to overcome, Mack maybe a little bit more than Connor. But they were both stubborn and strong willed characters! I loved the funny and witt ...more

Connor could be a thoughtful man, “I wanted to let you sleep . We were up so late and you were burrito-ed up like a little Mack morsel. I couldn’t help it.” I liked this book, loved Connor.

Mack was looking through the portfolio of someone to date in her town on a dating app and found Connor who she worked side by side with at the Dipper in Gold Mountain. He was the chef and she tended bar. He was so not her type: arrogant. A player, and he still talked like he was going to pack and leave town any second for something better. Connor told Mack they would find her someone. Her best friend Abbi had talked her into the dating app. Connor caught her checking out his profile and took her ...more

Book 2 in the Men of Gold Mountain series can be read as a stand alone book and is a lust to hate to love book. Connor and Mack were instantly attracted to each other but after learning that the handsome chef was just passing through Gold Mountain, Mack decided to protect herself and back away, quickly. That was three years ago but with his revolving door of women, Mack feels justified in labeling him a man whore. Connor has become the chef and Mack, the bartender of the same restaurant/bar. I have a new rule when it comes to Rebecca's books: don't read them if a vibrator isn't within reach.

Because 🔥🔥🔥 *fans self* *takes a cold shower*

Beyond amazing sex, this book is plain fun. Mack & Connor are intense characters who light each other up. They're sassy and strong and their chemistry is off the charts. I loved watching them go from enemies to enemies who fuck to lovers.

I flew through this, and found myself going, "wait its over already?! Give me more tension and more explicit sex!"

Make Me Meg is Book 2 of the Men of Gold Mountain series by Rebecca Brooks

This has all the aspects that I love about Entangled Brazen books: great banter, some scoring hot chemistry, a healthy dose of tension (loved the love/hate push and pull between Mack and Connor), a decently paced story and plenty of super sexy times

The characters were related and real and I loved the frenemies to lovers tension. It's not nothing new in romance books, but the banter between the two main characters (with a c

Make Me Beg is a FIVE STAR read! I had read the first book in the Men of Gold Mountain series and was really looking forward to Mack and Connor's story. Circumstances force Mack and Connor to partner up in the bar and restaurant business. The sparks fly as the two attempt to work together to realize their dreams. Mack is a strong, determined heroine, worthy of our respect. Connor is a sensitive, alpha hero who's easy to love and even easier to fantasize about. The chemistry between these two is ...more

Make Me Beg by Rebecca Brooks is the second book in the Men of Gold Mountain Series. This story is about MacKenzie (Mack) and Connor. Connor is a drifter. He can't seem to find a place he really wants to stay in for a long time and Mack is living in the past and can't seem to let go of her past life. When Connor and Mack are placed into business together, they can't seem to agree on anything. Only thing they can agree on is how hot the sheets turn when they are in them together. I liked these 2 unlikeable characters! First you have Bartender Mackenzie Ellinsworth. She is also known as Mack. She is kind of a know it all, a little mean, and a little immature. She likes playboy Connor Branding , but is mean to him because she likes him..... well she discovers that later on. She is mean to him because he is a dog.

Connor has a thing for Mack. he always has. He just needs to prove to her he is worth the risk. Connor doesn't know about Mack's past, so he thinks she is
