Fandom: Harry Potter -------------------------------------------------- Hermione is offered a war-stake by Dumbledore. She ignorantly accepts the beautiful scroll only to find she has thereby agreed to become Wife to the House of Malfoy. An on-the-go education by Minerva, Molly, and Astoria ensues as Hermione enters formal courtship by Draco and Lucius. Utterly absurd and a tad naughty. AU, OOC. Utter tripe.
In a world where the Malfoys were spies for the Order from the beginning. Narcissa was a bad seed and died after Draco was born. Lucius raised Draco and are best friends. There is a lot of world building in this fic to make you believe that Hermione can marry them both. Turns out that the sacred 28 are sacred because of the covenants (sentient magic that protects them), the pure blood families can have a house wife, which means one wife for all the men in the house. It took me a while to understand and I probably still see it with a lot of skepticism, but this fic has the most delicious slow burn ever. It was good.
Albus is good, Ron is bad. Molly is good and Harry marries Ginny and Luna. Yeah, If you like to read crazy stuff for fun, you can try this one.
I honestly don't have the words to explain how this fic made me feel. Amazing and incredibly well-written; the most agonizing slow burn I have ever read. There were so many little details and writing quirks that I didn't notice until they were pointed out because they were so well done.
The conflicts were a little too easily resolved and didn't feel as hard hitting as they could have been, but the rest of the fic completely made up for it.
Romance, smut, info-dumps, an entirely new way of thinking about HP and the pureblood houses, and of course the hilarious commentary of the Malfoy covenant.
1600 pages of pure bliss, I don't regret a minute of it.
I’ll never understand some people & their complaints. If you want cannon, then read fucking cannon. Let those of us with an imagination live our very happy lives. Good Draco/Malfoy make a fun Hermione sandwich & it was delicious. I also want to drink with Minerva.
