Samantha once thought she could take anything life could throw at her. Terrible jobs and worse men, it could all be taken in stride. But a tragic event leaves her beside herself and she wonders if she can ever really love again. When a stranger barges into her life, life might be throwing her a curve ball.
Rust was a man in pieces. He never had much going for him, truth be told. His broad shoulders and the golden shine in his Bear Shifter eyes meant he had few enemies, but that didn’t matter now. Haunted and tormented by a terrible event, he decided he’d had enough drowning in pity and sorrow. He would meet his fate, no matter the consequences. And if he could make someone’s life a little better in the process, so be it.

Rust's brothers certainly weren't expecting the need they got in their prologues, but while unexpected they did not get precisely bad news. Rust however discovers his path is a bit different, and shows himself to be a remarkable, strong and supportive man.
Throughout this series one of the things I have been particularly impressed by is the strength of the make characters, more nuanced, and perhaps subtle than the traditional Alpha hero, these men believe in their women, they stand with them and in support of them, but always seem willing to stand beside them.
This story was beautiful in a variety of ways, including the fact another author might have chosen this backstory as the reason for a relationship with someone other than Samantha, vs. finding Samantha. But this is the story of a caring and honorable character.
Rust finds out his baby doesn't survive but he is still determined to track the mother down. Samantha's life has not been the same since she lost the baby. She doesn't trust that Rust is there to just make her life better. In the end, she does trust her heart and everything works out fine. This is a wonderful wrap-up of the Secret Baby Bears stories. I received a copy of this ARC for an honest review.
Rust is a great book! In the beginning it is just too sad for me. However, as I read on it turned into a sweet and beautiful romance. Rust and Samantha are made for each other. *I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.*
This is the final book in this series and I am honestly sad to see it end. This is a wonderful set of books and this book completed the set. This books story line is a little twisted from the others in the series but it does have a HEA. I was given a free ARC copy of this story in exchange for an honest review
Rust is the last of the shifters who donated sperm for some research that ended up accidentally being used as donor sperm. But Samantha who received Rust's sperm had a stillbirth; and her slime-bag of an ex and his scuzz-bucket parents blamed her and made her feel that it was all her fault. So she feels horribly guilty and that she does not deserve another chance to be a mother. Rust shows up and apologizes for the pain that he inadvertently caused her. He tells her that he is a bear shifter, but that that would not cause the stillbirth and that he does not blame her in any way; that it was just a terrible accident. He manages to convince Samantha that she is a good person and would make a wonderful mother and that she deserves a second chance at having a baby. I really liked how Becca handled the stillbirth - how she showed the pain and anguish and the guilt that is felt. And also how she showed that Rust, even though he had never really considered becoming a father, also felt pain and guilt for the loss of the baby and for the pain that Samantha went through. I am sad that this series has come to an end, I have really enjoyed it. I received this book as a free ARC copy for an honest review.
This was my favorite book in the series so far because it starts with unbelievable heartbreak and ends with happiness. Where the rest of the bear shifters, so far, have found their children and fallen for the mothers, Rust finds that his child hadn't made it. Samantha is still reeling from her loss of her baby and the fact that her fiancé let her suffer her los on her own. 2 years have past and she still suffering and then she meets Rust, the shifter who would have been her child's biological father. Rust sees in Samantha a kindred spirit, even though until recently he didn't know there would have been a child of his and now he wants a second chance at a family he didn't realize he wanted. Rust helps Samantha deal with the loss and look towards a brighter future. I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
3.5 stars. This novella is the fifth and final book in the Secret Baby Bears series. I have read other books from this author and I like that this series has an interesting twist on the typical secret baby storyline. Rust is a standalone with a HEA. But all five novellas are tied together so you should read them all to get the complete story. Hot and steamy sex so definitely 18+.
The book blurb adequately describes the storyline so I'm not going to repeat that info here. Be aware that this is an "insta-love" type storyline and events move extremely quickly. This is a novella so settings and characters aren't as well described or as developed as they could be. But you have to expect that in a novella and suspend your belief a little more than usual.
I received an ARC of this novella in exchange for an honest review.
How truly sad to start off with the loss of a child. While the other stories in this series were more upbeat from the start this story of Samantha had me in tears. To have been dismissed in such a way by the man she thought loved her above all else. Two years later...Rust appears on the scene to apologize for something neither of them could have foretold, but he seems to truly care. What happens after that is for you to find out. I'm not reliable to give spoilers as I feel everyone who enjoys reading Becca Fanning novels she judge for themselves. However, I love a HEA, and she doesn't disappoint. There aren't as many twists here, no violence, and you will have to wait for the heat.
I received this ARC as a free read with the promise of an honest review. I'm telling you that you honestly want to read her books.
Rust is out final bear to find out his sperm was inadvertently used to inseminate female. Sadly the baby was still born and Samantha, the mother, has been drowning in guilt and misery ever since. Her ex is a piece of excrement and blamed her for the death of the baby and his parents were totally unsupportive of her.
When Rust shows up and provides the support and gives his own apologises on the loss of their baby and the grief he has caused her. She takes the news of his shifter status quite well and she soon accepts that the baby's death was not her fault and that she deserves another chance at motherhood!
The loss of the baby is dealt with care and tenderness and shows the anguish that you can feel at something you cannot really control but still feel that you could have done something to prevent it.

WOW!!! Rust and Samanthas story is so different from the rest of the series. For starters it was very heartbreaking and different story line. Poor Samantha not having anyone around while going through such a hard and heartbreaking nightmare. She never got over her loss and guilt that she feels, thanks to a stupid Doctor and her selfish ex fiancee and what the hell was his parents problem? Rust comes along and OMG!! He is so sweet and loving. When he talks to Samantha about the baby wow no one has told her it's not her fault before. Rust will fix her heart. Such a great, sad but happy ending to this series. Rust really is a brilliant man. ;) and Samantha finally gets her happy ending.
Rust and his friends have found out that the sperm they donated for medical research was accidentally used by a sperm bank. Unlike his friends Rust does not have a baby out there waiting for him. The baby that resulted from the impregnation died before birth. Rust decides to find the mother anyway. Samantha is still trying to cope with the loss of her baby. She is surprised at work on day by a stranger requesting to meet and talk with her. When she finds out he was the sperm donor, she runs away and has a mini-break down. Rust keeps trying the get to know Sam but her sad past is a big obstacle. I loved how caring and compassionate Rust was with Sam. He was doing everything he could to help her emotionally. I received a free copy of this book in return for an honest review.
A little warning before I start this does start with a lose of a baby but it does have a sweet happy ending. Ok now for the review Samantha Cardiff was in love with her high school sweetheart and they were planning to get married but since he could not have kids they went to the sperm bank. Sadly the baby didn't make it nor did their relationship. 2 years later Rust stood in the office of the lawyer with his werebear friends when he got the news his baby hadn't made it and knew he had to meet the women who must be in pain from the loss. That's how they meet and formed a bond of love. This was far different then her other books. So it was a bit of an emotional roll-a-coaster ride with a very sweet ending and happiness too.
This is the final short story in the Secret Baby Bear Shifter Romance. This one revolves around Bear Shifter Russ & Samantha who's child was stillbirth. This short story about a difficult topic has been very well written. The character's are well protrayed as they are realistic with real emotions and flaws. The author did an excellent job on the way she portrayed this heartbreaking story. This story is sad but also offers hope & is very sweet & romantic & sexy. This is a great series & a great end to this series. I really enjoyed evert short story in this series. I was given a free copy in exchange for a honest review.
This is a intriguing and interesting book to read and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. What you will find in this book is: drama, some twists, a sad almost broken woman (Samantha Cardiff), a determined man/bear shifter, heartache, grief, understanding, drinking,a phone call, a second chance, attractions, emotional feelings and a erotic scene. The story-line and plot is well thought out and written. The characters have needs and desires according to their personality. I would recommend this book to people that like to read a secret baby bear shifter book that is slightly different but ends in a HEA.
This is book 5 of Secret Baby Bears and the last in the series. Samantha thought she could take anything life could throw at her terrible jobs and worse men but then something terrible happens (yes I am basically repeating what the blurb to the book say but I don't want to give away what happens) Rust was the last of the brothers without much going for him until he meets Samantha and the rest you are going to have to read as I hate reviewers that spoil the story I usually only give Becca books four stars due to them being quite short but I think if a book can make you smile, laugh or cry then it deserves a good score and this one definitely made me cry.
I was given a free copy of this story in exchange for an honest review. Ms Fanning wants you to know that a baby is stillborn in this story. Some of you might skip this story because of this. For the rest of you get out your tissues. Rust finds Samantha and wants to discuss what happened. Sam thinks Rust is going to blame her for the baby dying. When she arrives home Rust is waiting for her with roses and tells her he was sorry to have caused Sam so much pain. She watches Rust as tears gathered in his eyes. What are they going to do? How do they handle their grief?

This is my favorite of the series. I know I said the last one was but no this one was hands down. It was really heartbreaking and way different than the others. Lots of mothers and fathers go through this and its real. I felt those emotions from Samantha and I felt Rust's pain. They had a HEA though so thats what counts and I loved the story. They got through it all together. Her ex-fiance abandoned her and blamed her which was a dick move but Rust...he was just awesome. :)
Book 5 in the Secret Baby Bear series and it has a twist from the others, if you've been reading them all, you'll appreciate it as much as I did !! Becca Fanning has again written a sweet short story, but this one starts with loss and heartache, the storyline may hit to close for some, it did me and I cried, but it had me smiling by the end. Not the usual shifter tory, but nice to read anyway. 4☆'s . I recommend it to anyone who likes people finally getting their happily ever after. I received a gifted copy in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.
This was so sad at the beginning. What happened to Samantha is a hard thing to have happened. Thank goodness for Rust. And he wants to see her which is so touching. Only he can understand her pain since it affected him also. Sniffles
Rust and Samantha's story is unique and I don't think I have read a PNR about Bears where this has happened. Thank goodness there is a HEA ending.
I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book thru my email by the author for my honest review. Reviewer for Nook Books and More Blog
Samantha is trying to recover from a traumatic event in her life. One that left her alone and heartbroken. Then one day a stranger shows up at her work and wants to talk with her. Will he cause her to slip back in her progress or help heal her heart? What a story. It is heartbreaking what Samantha has had to go through and the story will create an impact to anyone who reads it. Rust is a wonderful character and really shows the type of understanding all should show towards ones who are hurting. I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Part of the Secret Baby Bears series. Samantha thought at one time she had everything she wanted, a baby on the way a loving man in her life and she lost it all in an instant. She has tried to move on from her loss but can not! Rust is the last Bear Shifter whose sperm was used to let someone have a child but his baby did not live. What happens when these two meet ? I think out of all the books this was my favorite. I was gifted a copy for an honest review.
The last installment in the secret baby bears series was a bit different from the rest. Not only the mother, Sam, knew from the first contact with Rust that he was a bear shifter, but she also lost her child. Heartbreaking, sad and emotional story in the beginning slowly turned into an exciting, passionate romance and I was so glad they were able to establish a new family. Very nice short story, a fast read with adorable main characters. I received an ARC in exchange for my review.
Samantha and Rust have had terrible things happen in the past and they don't think they will open there hearts any more so Samantha has had this big handsome man come barraging into her life and decides that just to go for it. Rust has decided to let fate take it's coarse and go for it this was a awesome read and the last of the series I loved all these books on sperm gone wrong lol I got this free for an honest review great series on all her books Michelle
Samantha also received sperm donated by the group of bear shifters, but at eight months along, her baby is stillborn. When Rust asks about his baby, he is told about the stillbirth, and goes to find Samantha to see how she is coping. They land up healing each other, and this develops into a loving relationship. I have really enjoyed this series. (This ebook was given to me in return for an honest review.)
Keep them coming. I loved all the stories and they were just the right length. You got to see a real story line then get on to the next one. I especially enjoyed when there was a group of hunky men and they each got a girl. You also made sure the girl's characters were filled out so we knew their fears and feelings too. Good job. I will continue to follow your stories. Thank you. Jo Lynn Brown
This good was short and very touching. We meet a woman whose life has fallen apart and she is struggling every day. We meet Rust who just learned what had happened to her and is looking for her. When they meet she is super emotional and doesn't understand how he was able to find her. Will they be able to work things out? Will she be able to move on? What will happen next?
I received this book as an ARC from the author for an honest review. This story really had me thinking and wondering what happens next. I would have really enjoyed having an epilogue about what happens next but the way the story ends is really good. I was not able to put the story down once I started it.
The last two years have been quite difficult for Samantha and Rust appearing out of nowhere causes her more pain. She cannot imagine anything getting better for her and her loss is overwhelming, Rust never wanted a child, nor imagined one, until faced with the loss of one he never knew existed. Both must want to move on and accept the loss before they can begin their lives again.
