Quite a good overview of tried and true American dishes, most are vegetarian (yeah!). Good explanations, with side bar info that is useful. Worthwhile reading.

I renewed this book from my library. I really enjoyed flipping through. There were tons of great ideas...side dishes are my weakness. This book will definitely help you see through the bagged vegetable accompaniments. I will be checking this one out again...perhaps buying if the price were right.

All of the books in this series are wonderful. While some of the recipes themselves may be a bit complex (let's face it, they are meant to represent recipes to make the "best" dishes), I find that they are full of helpful tips and knowledge that can be applied to all types of cooking.
