A collection of four crazy tales of love from some of today’s most popular best-selling authors. We have all of your bases covered in this very sexy short-story anthology, from the dark to the quirky to the sassy and everything in between. Prepare to be entertained as each author delivers you a unique tale from vampires to cops to dolls. This anthology will expose just how weird and unpredictable love can be.
Warning: The stories in this anthology are for mature readers only. There is strong adult sexual content and language and all of that other great stuff. Oh, and did I mention the extreme level of hotness that is between the pages. You’ll need to prepare yourself for that, too.
I'm a wife and mother of three teenage kids. I've been married to the same wonderful man for twenty years. I've decided that if I can survive raising three kids then I can survive anything!! I haven't uttered the Mama's curse yet, but it could happen any day now. You know the one..."I hope you have a child just like you someday."
I'm an avid reader and lover of all things romance. I've spent my entire adult life waiting to follow my dreams of becoming a writer. One day this past summer, I decided to just do it. No more wishing and hoping. I haven't quit my day job, but that is my ultimate goal...make a living telling stories of love.
I write contemporary gay fiction. I hope you will love reading my books as much as I enjoy writing them.
I read Aimee Nicole Walker's book preview called Fatal Reaction, it is a look at the guys and how they met, had a hot, passionate fling, and sets us up to enjoy the book "Dyeing to be Loved", the beginning to a new series. Great characters ! ENJOY!
I only bought this because I needed the prequel to Dyeing to be Loved. And I have only read Aimee Nicole Walker's story in this Anthology, which means the rating is for that alone.
First: I HATE when I start a story, and it feels like something is missing. It became clear, when I had started Dyeing to be Loved, that something was indeed missing, but it wasn't clear anywhere in the official blurbs what that was. It was only in a review for the whole book (Dyeing) that I found the name of this Anthology.
Second: I don't read short-stories! IMO they are too short (heh) to properly build a full story, flesh out characters and give me some dirty-dirty smexy times, and ANW's was no exception. Also the first and last chapters of this story are Bianca's POV, which means that Josh and Gabe's story is further shortened. So Bianca is a sort of 'witch'. She does tarot readings and love potions. She made a love potion for a woman on behalf of the husband, but that had unintended consequenses. She is murdered, and Josh is a sort of witness.
Gabe is the detective on the case, and when Josh and Gabe meet, sparks fly. Josh is PRICKLY, but they do manage to fall into bed, even though they don't like each other very much.
I liked their banter well enough, but the amount of pages simply weren't enough to flesh out the story. The one smex scene was not satisfying, and the culmination of the case was rushed.
Also it sort of pisses me off, that I had to buy a short story, that I would not, normally, read to get the 'beginning' of Josh and Gabe. BUT I write this review after I've read both stories, and you don't HAVE to read this short story. Some of the scenes in this one, are repeated as flashbacks in the full story. So yeah, definitely not a hit for me, but necessary when I began reading Dyeing to be Loved.
I loved this casey were such a fun lady to read about
It made me laugh in parts it was really amazing

Omg wow hot and sexy I loved this short it was so intense and amazing
It was so good to get to know theoden was and how he ended up as a vampire he became
I loved it thank you Nicholas Bella for sharing chains of love with us
I loved the nut case love anthology I enjoyed all these short stories Thank you Andrea smith Aimee Nicole Walker Susan ward and Nicholas Bella for putting this together and sharing it with us
Okay, I have to admit I bought this because I am a fan of Nicholas Bella and I adore Theoden (just don't tell him that I love Noel more).
So I did what a good fan does and scrolled to the back of the book to read that story first.
5 stars for chains of Love: Theoden - I love it when the writer delves into the past of his main character, way back to a time when it all started. When I met Theoden for the first time, he was a bad ass vampire who did what he said, stood up to his principles and killed with no regret and feelings. So I wondered what kind of a man he was before he himself was embraced. This story delivers and gives a glimpse into the uniqueness of this Vampire Lord.
3 stars for Hello Dolly - I have loved books by Andrea Smith before but unfortunately this story didn't do it for me. It was weird in so many ways. The writing was great, but I couldn't warm up the the female main character who pines after her neighbour who likes to spend time with her but doesn't go further than kissing her. Everything screams she should let him go but she changes her mind so many times, I just couldn't follow her motivation anymore. Now her love interest is a total different number.
5 stars for Fatal Reaction - This was a surprise. I am not sure if I have read anything by Aimee Nicole Walker before. The idea to combine m/m romance with the supernatural surrounded by a murder mystery worked well for me. I loved the opposites attract male characters and nothing makes me smile more when an alpha gets put into his place by a twink who turns out to be his equal. Awesome. Can't wait to read more of these two.
3 stars for Stockholm Love - While I inhale even the cheapest m/m books, f/f is not working for me when it lacks feelings. I might be prejudiced but it doesn't turn me on. While the sex is used to keep the main character connected, I had problems with the woman to seek out so called friends from High School that she wasn't close to but against better judgement wanted to be part of.
Okay - I love Anthologies. Why? Because maybe it’s a favorite author who revisits a character I love or give me a sneak peek. Or maybe I get the chance to get introduced to authors never read. Now, ignore all that. This is not the droid - oops - book you were looking for. But if you want to be surprised and delighted for a few easy traveling reads, here’s the perfect companion.
Nut Case Love defines some ‘crazy’ love. Of course there were stories I loved more than others. But worthwhile my time nonetheless.
Hello Dolly by Andrea Smith: Okay, it’s a friends to lovers story that took a “WTF” turn at the last line. Literally, I’m in the airport terminal - out loud mind you - with NO WAY did I just read that. All the while laughing my fool head off. It was brilliant. Yes, could I figure what was going on. But that last scene. BRILLIANT I SAY. 5.0 out of 5.0 stars
Fatal Reaction by Aimee Nicole Walker First time author for me. The prequel premise was original. Josh and Gabe are like oil and water, yet perfect for each other. This is one story that definitely had me wanting for more. And Dyeing to be Loved is on my TBR for sure. Thanks Bianca! 4.5 out of 5.0 stars
Stockholm Love by Susan Ward First time author for me. Interesting story line that slowly unfolds and all is not what it seemed. I’m going to be honest - didn’t like Jena. She just seemed disingeniune and I could see she wanted to get and use Holly. Okay well, color me surprised as the ‘real’ reason was to be revealed. This introduction story is hard for me to rate. Obviously not connecting with the main character, but maybe in a full length story I would. Writing and storyline are good. If you love suspense & intrigue and not bothered by same-sex stories, this would be worth looking into. 3.5 out of 5.0 stars.
Theoden by Nicholas Bella First time author for me. And I’m going to put it out there historical storyline - way down on my list of what I pick. But what the hell, right? It is paranormal side which isn’t a no. However, what it lacked on what I would one click on, was full of HOLY HOTNESS!! Whoa Baby! If erotic, paranormal is your favorite, then this will be right up your alley. For me, 3.0 out of 5.0 stars
Here is your chance to experience something a little different and experience the writing of four authors. Anthology average 4.0 out of 5.0 stars. But I would buy for Hello Dolly alone
I picked this book up for Nicholas Bella's book, and I was not disappointed. For those who have never read the new haven series I suggest you start there before reading the prequel. I think you have a greater appreciation for the story line and will savor every word in it. If you are not sure and still start with this book either way the story is amazing and will make you want to read the series. 5 stars on this one.
Now the dolly story I felt like it seemed a bit predictable and could tell what was coming the story was well written but I am not necessarily a fan of dolls. 3 stars on this one
Fatal attraction was a good read I normally don't go for stories about murders that are trying to be solved but it kept me on the hook. 4 stars on this one.
Now the Stockholm love. I have mixed feelings on, not for the way it was written but because I am not necessarily a fan of books with this type of plot. The writing was great, the author had my heart racing in the steamy scenes and I couldn't get enough. 4 stars on this one.
This Anthology features four different authors with a different perspective of sexuality from each. I enjoyed each story, and it seemed as if each was building on the previous until the final climax. Going from quirky to sensitive, fiendish to hard core. No matter your preferences, I think anyone will find a story and characters to fall for and follow on their journey.
This book was fun to read because it had some unexpected twist in each story. I have only read one of theses authors and love her work. As for the others I am going to be looking into their work because these short stories have peaked my interest.
So if you like short fun reads with twist this book is for you.
Being that I've only read two of the authors before, the synopsis grabbed me and the price sold me for sure!
HELLO DOLLY - Story 1 (5 STARS) This story certainly lived up to the title of "NUT CASE LOVE!" OMG! This was a tale of girl next door wants boy next door--but relax, they're young adults now, everything is legal. But that doesn't mean it didn't have a quirky, creep factor that was also kinda . . . hot at the end. But maybe I'm just a sicko.
FATAL REACTION - Story 2 (4 STARS) This prequel had me glued to my kindle, and I absolutely will continue on with this series. Just pissed cause I want it now! First time author for me. I'm glad I discovered her through this anthology!
STOCKHOLM LOVE - Story 3 (4 STARS) Didn't connect with Jenna. And maybe The Manny spoiled me. I prefer M/M to F/F I guess. The writing was good. Slow start though.
THEODEN - Story 4 ( 2 STARS) I have a hard time with paranormal. Historical paranormal with dark S/M is definitely not my cup of tea. I just couldn't get through this one as much as I tried.
Each of these stories were just what the title says, nutcases. I enjoyed and loved each one of them.
Hello Dolly This one definitley had the WTF happened and I can't believe I just read that. The ending of this friends to lovers story will have you say WTF. I mean i knew something was up, but I was not expecting that. Great job, Andrea!!
Fatal Reaction What an insane preview as to what is to come. I loved this one, the characters were great. I can't wait for more, I look forward to reading what's coming next.
Stockhom Love Loved the story line to this one, this one was just crazy. I think this was a very well written story and look forward to reading more from this author, I have enjoyed her other books.
Theoden This one was as hot as it could get, I have read several of this author's work so I am not surprised with all the hotness going. I enjoyed every word of this one as well.
In this Nut Case Love Anthology each different author brings their own spin to each story. Each story stands out a lone but in the end you of the anthology you will see how similar they really are the stories are different not to mention hot. I was reminded in the end that the hotness was like the final summer's day in the season starting out a bit cool and warming up to the sweltering, dripping, excitement of the heat of the day.
I won't give anything away so this review will stand short but I will tell you that even though not written in the book one reminder came to part from a song that reminded me of the ages. "So Hello Dolly it's nice to have you back where you belong, you're lookin swell."
These authors did an amazing job with these short stories. I finished each story panting for more. If you are looking for new authors but are not sure, I highly recommend these short stories to give you a taste of their writing. You will not be sorry
