I received a copy of this via NetGalley and Choc Lit in return for a fair and honest review.

It is always enjoyable to read a romance that is a little different from all the others and that is exactly what this story is! It seems to go a little deeper than many books do with characters who appear to the outside world to have it all, and be in control, but in reality are anything but!

The main character is Kristi who is very well known as a self help guru but she has reached a point in her life whe

Recently, I have found myself enjoying a good lighthearted romance novel.

So, when the chance to review, "A Little Luck, A Lot of Fate" arose, I pounced at the opportunity.

Here are my thoughts.

Firstly, for the storyline, I found this novel to be unique; it was certainly not your typical romance. I felt that the use of metaphysical plotlines was intriguing, despite the fact that I don't believe in physic mediums. Also, I found the underlying plot highly relatable; how many times have I given advic

Having LOVED Linn's previous novel; A Little Sugar, A Lot of Love, I had really high hopes for 'A Little Luck, A Lot of Faith', and I couldn't wait to get stuck into it.
When we offer advice to others, the chances of us actually listening to our own advice is probably slim to none. We can help other people with their demons but as soon as our own demon comes knocking, we ignore our own advice and pretend the demon is rea

Kristi has a successful career. She's a famous lifestyle coach and she writes self-help books. She is always busy guiding and helping others. She has to travel a lot for her job and that demands sacrifices. When she's completely exhausted Kristi decides it's time for a sabbatical. She has a house she never sleeps in and a boyfriend, Tom, she never sees. Tom lives in a cabin in the woods and Kristi is more of a city girl. Kristi finally has the chance to think about settling down and she tries to ...more

A lovely romance that challenged my thoughts on tarot cards, mediums, spirits and self-help guides. By challenged I mean, i had to put a lot of my own scepticism aside in order to try and enjoy this book fully, as they are just subjects I'm not convinced about.

In between the subject matter that I don't always believe in, there is a good story, written from three points of view, and it was always clear which character you were with, as their name appears on a separate page turn, before

Kristi seems to have it all. She has a successful career as a lifestyle coach, she's a bestselling author and she has a large fan base. Kristi is used to live out of a suitcase, she almost never has the chance to be at her house. She bought it a few years ago, but never made it her home. She didn't even bother to unpack all of her stuff, so the place is still filled with boxes. Kristi has a complicated relationship with Tom. Tom has been her best friend for a very long time and they're both expe ...more

You always know when you’re reading one of Linn B Halton’s novels: assured, intriguing and full of poignancy. Her characters are always so clear and fascinating that I struggle to leave them behind when I finish her books.

The lynchpin of this novel for me was Kirsti and Tom’s relationship – a really complex bond forged through childhood need and a teenage desire. Its dysfunctional nature was so real and powerful that is was hard for both Kirsti and the reade

Life style coach, Kristi Danielson, has it all, money, fame, celebrity status and a relationship that just doesn’t feel right. Oh yes, and she also happens to be on the verge of a breakdown. A sabbatical, perhaps even a career change, and reassessment of her relationship with her boyfriend, Tom, is in order. It sounds a sensible plan, so why is she drawn to Patrick, a tarot card reader who speaks to the dead?

I really enjoyed this book. The characters were well drawn, realistic and although they

Kristi Danielson is a life coach to the rich and famous and quite a celebrity herself, but is struggling with her personal life. Now don't stop reading straightaway, I didn't think I'd have much sympathy for her either. Her home life is a bit of a mess and she's not sure that her love life is going the way she wants either. Really unsure what she can do - after all, who would someone as successful as her turn to for advice? - she decides to get in touch with a psychic. She's not really sure she ...more

I loved this story. It's a wonderful, modern, romance. Kristi is famous, she sorts out people's lives and sets them on the right path. She travels a lot for her work. Kristi has a long term boyfriend Tom, they have known each other since childhood. Tom is a painter, he lives in a cabin that he built himself. As Kristi approaches her 30th birthday she feels that her life has become empty, she has no joy in her work and decides to take 4 months off to evaluate her life. She starts by unpacking her ...more

Thanks so much to the publishers and netgalley xx
What an absolutely lovely romantic read this was with such likeable characters too. I love Linn’s writing, it has a different edge to any other books I have read and I always look forward to reading her work.

This book is thought provoking and quite emotional but there are giggles too.

All in all a number one and a must read for everyone

Thank you NetGalley for this book in exchange for an honest review.

Who doesn't love a good old love story? And who doesn't love a good old love story that is different then the rest? One that seems to delve deeper into the characters then others I have read. I know I do.

The main character in this book is a lady called Kristi who is a self help guru. Kristi seems on the outside to have the perfect life and to have everything together. But it's just a very good facade. As on the inside Kristi is

A Little Luck, A Lot of Fate is a contemporary romance novel.
The book is about Kristi, a life coach who has successfully published self-help books in the past and whose life, objectively, is going very well. However, Kristi herself is missing something... Not per se her first step normally, she seeks the help of a psychic. The story is about finding what's missing, what to do about it, what the tarot ca

Kristi is a famous life coach and has found herself in a bit of a rut. she has started to question herself and has decided to take herself out of the limelight for a while and concentrate on writing a book(which end up being a series of self help booklets). And has decided that the time is right to turn the house she has lived in for two years into a home, she is aided by her housekeeper Eve.

Strange things start to happen, she starts to 'hear' a voice and Kirsti does something that she would ne

The characters in this book were well written and I found myself becoming more attached as the story progressed. It did take me a few chapters to get a feel for Kristi's character but the more I read the more interesting she became.

I enjoyed the fact that there was the added element of the unknown to this story with a psychic medium helping Kristi. It was interesting learning more on this subject than I had previously understood. I liked the idea that both Patrick and Kristi were helping people

This book was such a surprise. Having read most of Linn's work, A Little Luck, A Lot of Fate was something deeper and unexpected.

Kristi, a lifestyle coach has reached a point when she starts to question her life and doesn't seem to like the answers. She isn't perfect and worries everyone else is about to realise that too. Not only that but the voice in her head seems to be emphasising the point as well.

The story is told from the point of view of each of the main characters, Kristi, Tom and Patri

Kristi is a life coach, a very famous one. The problem is she’s having a crisis. She feels unhappy, doesn’t know what she wants to do, is she in the right job? So she takes a four month break from the limelight to write a new book about discovering hereself.

To enable her to do this, she does the one thing she thought she would never do, contact a Tarot Reader to ask for guidance on her life’s journey. That Tarot Reader comes in the form of Patrick. Oh and then we have Tom, Kristi’s boyfriend who

I love Haltons writing, she has a way of showing you the heart of people, they aren't just characters on a page, they are real people, as real as you and me. And real people mean real issues and real emotions that you just cant help getting caught up in. At the heart of this book is Kristi, trying to make sense of her life and figure out where it's heading. She has some tough decisions to make and its understandable why she is having problems.

I loved Kristi and Eve. Even though both ladies had s

Chocolate Lit Publishing continues to live up to its name by giving us another book to savor with A Little Luck, A Lot of Fate by Linn B. Halton. This quirky book reminds us that it is easier to give advice then it is to apply it to one’s own life. I couldn’t help but like all three of the main characters even while I was shaking my head in disbelief at them. No, it not that the story is implausible but because their actions were so believable.

This very complicated story works on so many levels

What an unusual book! Kristi embarks on a life changing journey. As a public figure giving out advice for life improvement to everyone, she realises that her life needs to change - she is empty and has no time for herself.

This has a knock on effect on everyone in her life. Tom, her longterm boyfriend is forced to assess his life away from Kristi's nurturing. Her cleaner gets help for her husband's perceived mental problems and Kirsti's family benefit from her new way of thinking.

And then there i

Try this one if you like romantic triangle that work out just the way they should, even if it doesn't seem perfect at the start. Kristi, Patrick, and Tom are all very real- quirks and all. There's some thoughtful advice in here that transcends the novel. Nice writing, easy read- perfect for a relaxed afternoon or evening. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC- I have not read Halton before but I will look for her again.

I received a copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review. I really enjoyed this heartwarming story about Kristi Danielson's journey of self-discovery. She is writing what she hopes will be her final self-help book and record her life changes as she does. When she seeks out the help of a psychic, her journey gets really interesting! A wonderful, romantic read.

Kristi and Tom have been in a relationship, of sorts, for a long time and it seems to have met their needs. Kristi begins to question where she is going with her life, takes 4 months off to write, contacts someone for a psychic reading and then her life begins to change impacting those around her – including Tom and Patrick, the psychic. The decisions she has to make will change the lives of those around her in a positive way and will also change the way she moves forward in life.

I need to start with the fact that I initially struggled getting into this book. I can’t really pinpoint the exact reason but something made me repeatedly put this one down or have to go back and start over. However, once I got into “A Little Luck, A Lot of Fate,” I really did get into Kristi, Patrick, and the bulk of the plot. The main character, Kristi, is a self-help novelist/guru who suddenly hears an “inner voice” one day, prompting her to take a 4 month sabbatical from her high-profile car ...more
This book is told in alternating first-person viewpoints from Kristi and Tom who used to live next door and have grown up to be... well. It's interesting. Kristi seems to think of Tom as a friend (at least in the first few chapters) while Tom describes Kristi as his girlfriend (they are, indeed, dating). There are also some chapters from Patrick, a tarot card reader who Kristi reaches out to for help.
You see, Kristi is an incredibly successful modern living guru and she's been working non-stop f
