Ehhhhh… first of all, so he talks about this diet for only 47 pages. The rest of the book to page 406 is all recipes. I wasn’t looking for a cook book. Secondly he focuses on people with heart disease which isn’t everyone. Third… even after I read the first 48 pages (skimmed).. he explains the diet in literally a few pages. Forth, it’s very basic I learned nothing.

The Miami Mediterranean Diet, Michael Ozner, is a cookbook that has many great recipes The ingredients in this book are easy to find in your favorite grocery store. My favorite recipes are the Lentil Soup, Greek Salad and Classic Tabbouleh. If you enjoy cooking, you will want this book on your shelf!

This is a cool diet book because it puts importance on reducing stress in your life. I also agree with the emphasis on eating more fish. However, their food pyramid places whole grains at the bottom, (right above lots of exercise and reduction of stress) but I don't think I can eat that much whole grains!

Overall I think I have benefited from reading this book though. I also like the idea of the afternoon nap! And lots of fruits and vegetables. It seems like the main point is the take time to enjoy your life in a healthy way. Cook your food and don't think of it as a chore but rather something to enjoy.

Make sure to keep an even blood sugar level... it's all good advice. I'm not sure if the version I read was the newest edition but I might purchase a copy of this book, especially if they come out with a newer version.
