Really good insight into an unseen culture, probably rarely seen by tourists visiting the area. A very enjoyable read with numerous twists which made the book compulsive reading - read within two days'.

Great storyline, it really got you immersed in wanting certain outcomes for its characters. I think I would have found a small glossary helpful as there were a lot of unfamiliar words and terminology and I had to fill in the gaps with my own version of things rather than what something would actually look like?
All in all, 4 stars. I am looking forwards to reading the sequel though :)

Interesting story with a unique perspective, enjoyed it and the realism of the presentation in writing.
Bought this book in Bali and read it when I got back. Perfectly captures the beauty of the island and the dark underworld that goes unnoticed. Definitely a 'must read' book - one of my favourites!
