Unlocking the Numbers

Rate this book
Unlocking the Numbers is for anyone who has wondered why, in the scriptures, everything seems to happen in forty years or forty days and why the Lord always seems to call on three witnesses. Aren’t two enough? George M. Peacock, who taught seminary and institute classes for nearly forty years, answers these and many other questions related to how and why numbers are used as symbols in the scriptures. He shows that numbers have messages that lend much to the accounts within which they are used. “If all things are created and made to bear record of God, surely the possibility exists that numbers bear record of Him,” writes the author. Unlocking the Numbers helps us appreciate the greater significance of numbers as it enlightens our minds and increases our understanding of what the Lord is really saying through his written word.

Even though it's a short book, it still felt long. Interesting about the numbers--I enjoyed learning about 40 and 12--some of the others seemed a stretch and too much the same. A good book to skim
