I loved this book and could relate to it so much. Miley and Baz have both been through a lot, and sometimes a bad situation can either make you strive to be a better person or give up all hope. After losing Miley's mother to a terrible disease, it seems as though everything else in her life goes downhill. With not much else to keep her afloat, she takes what little money she has and heads to one of the most beautiful places on earth, but the last person she expected to run into was Baz. Meeting Baz was both a blessing and a curse, and with it comes a whole new uphill battle for both of them. But what might have ended in tragedy, could ultimately end up saving them both.
Jennifer Foor has always been a favorite author of mine, and I love how real and dynamic her stories are. The pain, sorrow, frustration, passion...all of these emotions felt by these characters were raw and tangible, and I felt like I was going through it with them. Most of all, I liked that this story touches on real issues that the reader can relate to, and it sends an overall positive and encouraging message to those who might be going through a similar situation. <3
Waves is a touching beautiful story of two people who find each other at the worst point in ones life. One persons strength and determination pours through the other helping them get through life and in time see the brighter side. Jennifer Foor has done an amazing job of one girls struggles through life and a man's strength to get through an extremely tough time . They say people come into your life at a time to help you through that stage of your life, that's what happened with Miley. Ready to give up on life she goes to Hawaii to a beach to end her life, what she didn't expect was for someone to try and save her. In a twisted turn of events her saviour almost died in turn leaving Miley to save him which in turn saved herself. Life is worth living even more so when you have people who love and support you and make you a better person.
Get ready for a roller coaster ride of emotions, the pain, frustration, sorrow and friendship you will feel words. These characters feelings and life struggles are raw, and heart breaking, it is a well told emotionally beautiful tale.
Wave deals with many issues, Huntington's desease awareness, depression, suicidal thoughts, grief with so many heavy subjects baring down on the plot it was a hard read to enjoy, it was just simply a heartwarming and heartfelt story.
Two characters thrown together by pain, fate and circumstance.
Two people who have had their fare share of woes.
Two characters who found each other at the right time and learned to live life to the full side by side and enter a world of new beginnings together.
I've read previous books by this author and Wave is very different and I cannot compare other than Jenn's ability to get the thoughts and feelings of the characters across to the reader as they tell their story in dual pov's.
I learned about a disease I had little knowledge of and want to thank Jenn for enlightening me.
What an emotional book! So many emotional turns and finally a fulfilling end of happiness!! They endured so much but in the end loved prevailed!Loved it!!
3.5 Great Stars! Wave is a great story about a girl who has suffered loss and felt alone much of her life, and all she wants more than anything is for that feeling to go away. Through everything though she finds herself caring for someone, for developing feelings for another and having purpose in her life again, but will that be enough for her Miley.
Baz is a good looking surfer who wants nothing more in his life other than redemption. He wants to redeem himself, to prove that he is better than his past self was, that young kid who was into trouble and ended up in jail. The downfall to all of his plans happens the moment he makes a choice to save another life. Saving another life takes away the only goal he had set for his life, can he recover from such an event and still find the redemption he had hoped for.
This book does have some very sad points, there is loss and lots of pain within it's pages, but I promise there's also so much more than that as well, there's hope for two young lives. Hope that there's more than they could have ever thought of for their lives, love that they never imagined to feel and a future they each can't turn away from. I really did enjoy reading this story. I wish there had been just a little more dialogue between the two but I was very happy with the story and how it ended. Thank you Jennifer Foor for allowing me the opportunity to read your book and review it for my blog.
Holy emotion overload! Jenn...I don't know how you got through writing this in one piece! Miley, Miley, Miley...you broke me on so many occasions. I didn't know what I'd be able to do for you to see the positive. Baz, you poor thing! You tried to turn your life around and bam, you get hit with something that changes you forever! The ups, the downs, the twists, the turns...all of it. A beautifully written, highly emotional story, that will capture your heart from the first pages. Don't miss this one people!!

Touching and emotional story of Baz and Miley. Both are at a crossroads for different reasons. Fate stepped in, where they met under unusual circumstances, making their connection more unique. As they get to know each other and help each other out they discover valuable lessons on love, life and living! Beautifully told story! 4.5 stars!
What an emotional ride this story has. It will pull on your heartstrings from start to finish. In true J4 style there are quite a few comic breaks. From competition to the sidelines and from depression to purpose, this story has it all! And now a bit about the story...
Baz has been given a second chance at competing in the surfing circuit. He is bound and determined to make it this time. Miley has just lost her mom to Huntington's and found out her boyfriend was using her as a shield. With nothing left to live for other than homelessness and sky high medical bills, she heads to paradise to end it all. When Baz and Miley meet he is cocky and confident and she shuts him down. When he sees her out in the wave too far intuition kicks in and he's determined to save her, but she may just end up saving him...
Favorite passages: - It’s like he works all day to keep from losing it, and the second someone from his life steps in he’s far too depressed to consider a recovery. Baz takes one step forward and two steps back. - I know she’ll light up the room and make me smile. “No. It’s silly.” Miley shakes her head. “Sorry. When I’m uncomfortable I tend to go off topic.” “You could talk about milking cows on a farm and I’ll hang onto your every word.”
I loved the story line. 2 people come together, One at a very sad time in her life and the other at a time he needs to review his life.. They find and help each other through the rough time in their life. A great book about losing loved ones, finding new loved ones and life lessons.
Brian "Baz" Zakins had a tough childhood, he was abandoned by his parents and put into the system. He'd always dreamed of becoming a professional surfer no one wasn't giving him a chance because of his own self destructive actions. His best-friend Max's father took him in cause he believed in him.
Baz felt like he was running out of time seeing that he's twenty-two years old and he hasn't attracted a sponsor yet. He stayed focus on his goal and avoided distractions after his past mistakes. He was on the right path now.
Miley Rose had a rough teenage years, her father abandoned her and her mother. They lost the family farm after her grandfather died, she lost her grandmother and mother to Huntington's disease. Despite loving her boyfriend, Micheal she decided it would be best for him if they called things off especially when she discovered his secrets.
She refused to have herself tested and went to Hawaii after she lost her job, Miley wanted the emptiness inside of her to go away.. She went to commit suicide only to be saved by one of the local surfers, Baz.
Baz got severally injured while saving Miley, he couldn't just let her drowned now he might lose his chances at his life's dream. Miley felt guilty and after her talk with her doctor, she decided to be there to help him with his recovery.
As they grew closer the guilt was eating at Miley, she wanted to come clean with Baz but obstacles always aroused. When the truth finally came out it was in the worse possible way. Despite the hurt and betrayal, Baz couldn't bring himself to hate Miley.
WAVE is a standalone novel by Jennifer Foor. It was breathtaking, heart-wrenching and sexy. Jennifer Foor did an amazing job. Two thumbs up!
Jenn Foor will always be one of my favorite authors. She continually writes stories that are heartfelt and full of emotion with characters I love. Wave is no different.
With Wave, she has written another story with characters who you just feel for. Both Baz and Miley are going through things in life when they meet. Maybe not the ideal time to meet, but maybe the perfect time. They are there for each other and help each other and it is beautiful, emotional and touching. As always, Jenn’s writing style makes it an easy read and a story you won’t be able to put down. I was drawn to the characters and felt so many emotions. SO many.
A beautifully written story about overcoming hardships, love and life. An absolute must read!
An arc was provided to Stephanie’s Book Reports for an honest review.
Wow! Wave by Jennifer Foor is a tidal wave of emotions. I could not put this book down. Wave was a 5 Star ugly cry that ended with a bright ray of sunshine over a calm ocean. It was a truly touching story that brought two people together during their darkest moments and made them both stronger people.
I don't want to say too much because this is a story the reader should experience for themselves. I can truly say that this book is Jennifer Foor's best work to date. She pulled out all the stops, made her characters come to life, and made their world a reality. Baz and Miley will touch your hearts.
What a beautifully written story full of heartache and love.. Baz & Miley have both been put thru the ringer... this book grabbed me and I could not put it down. I love that these two broken souls found each other and love was able to be found.. have tissues ready... cause this book was sooo emotional.. Amazing job..
When I first started this book I struggled to get into it. It took me a few chapters but once it hooked me I couldn’t put it down. I liked both the hero and heroine. I liked that they were the light at the end of the tunnel for one another. Despite traveling on dark paths and tough times, they found each other at the right moment. I was rooting for them to get their happily ever after. This book had me feeling emotional several times and I would definitely say that it is a rollercoaster of emotions or a wave of emotions *wink, wink* did you get my pun. The storyline is slow at first, the story builds and the emotions pour. Be prepared for the emotions and enjoy the ride.
