This is essentially a catalog of various markets one can list goods and services (that, in the words of Homer, money can be exchanged for). As this book ages, it actually might depreciate in value as markets shut down or change their policies.

Unlike the majority of books on entrepreneurship these days, Buy Buttons doesn't claim to share secrets to get rich. It isn't filled with mumbo jumbo about finding yourself or finding your passion. This book is a reference work for people who want legitimate info about real online marketplaces for making real money, although probably not a fortune.
I'd already heard of many of the marketplaces Loper mentions, but he frequently had helpful suggestions about getting started or differentiating on those platforms. I was also happy to learn about some new marketplaces.
This a genuinely useful work for anyone looking to supplement their income or start a business through freelancing or entrepreneurial endeavors.

This was more of a resource guide to know where you can go to start the many available side hustles that already exist. He spends so much (many chapters) time just rattling off where you can go online to stream extra income. Some cool insights about where you do your marketing and how that can affect your business as well. He does mention of course in the title 300+ marketplaces but I thought that would be like an indexed type list, not the content of the book. Definitely worth a read through if you're exploring options to make money on the side.

I'm a big fan of Nick's podcast (Side Hustle Nation) and enjoyed the many ideas he presented in this book, some of which were covered in more detail on his podcast.
I like how he categorized the suggestions and explained the benefits and challenges with each.
This is a realistic look at some ways to make additional money - all of which require hard work and time. There are no get-rich-quick gimmicks here.

Excellent Book for making extra money!
I had no idea that there were so many websites that one could make extra money on the side. Great resource with great explanations on how to get started.

Fair and simple
It's really designed for beginners and the nature of the sites can get outdated quickly. It also mentions a few international sites, but they seem beyond the scope for most readers

Nicks information is alway practical and useful. Tunis Buy Buttons book has a variety of actionable information in it.
Do yourself a favour and invest in it and go and listen to his podcast!!!

The book title is super misleading.
This is a book about marketplaces and how to profit from them. Basicall a how to make money from ebay and amazon...
I bought it thinking it was about buy-buttons and how to persuade customers to buy using "emotional triggers".
Instead I just got a list of all the marketing places to sell and buy my wares.

I would charge more.
I wish I had this book ages ago. A lot of these market places have been out awhile ago and I wish I could have gotten my buy button up already. The compilation of potential sales channels is worth more than the low price of the Kindle edition. The author lists plenty of ways for the risk averse to get their toes in the water with a potential business idea to suit them.

It was a quick read.
There are lots of ideas and web sites listed in this book. However, I think most of them are not practical for a "real deal" business. Some of them are not even available for non-US citizen.
I found about 5 interesting ideas, and only "selling skills" are useful to me, specifically online training courses and writing books, which are exactly what I am doing since about two years ago. On the other hand, "sharing economy" chapters are for people who have a day job and try to earn a little extra money online, in my opinion (you know, time is money, you decide whether it's worth or not).
So, in this book, there are something new but not useful to me. And there are something useful to me that I've already knew and been doing it. If you didn't make money online before, you might find some useful ideas in this book.

I have been following along with Nick's podcast 'Side Hustle Nation' for a few months now. This book is a comprehensive but succinct summary of literally hundreds of interviews with entrepreneurs and their successful side-businesses, as well as tidbits from Nick's own 15+ years of experience in various industries.
The sharing economy is definitely growing in our favour and there's loads of opportunity out there to diversify your income streams in addition to full-time gigs. This book is an excellent introduction to that world.

Written in 2016, this book has kind of lost its place amid the massive changes in e-commerce and apps that have happened in four short years, plus of course a pandemic. However I polished this book off in about a 45 minute read, so it is not heavy weight, and it gave me some ideas. So I would not pay full price for this but if you can pick it up cheap it’s worth a quick read to get your brain spinning on ways to earn a few bucks out there side-hustle-style.

I think this book had a lot of things sites and suggestions. I have heard of several of them before, but some were unique to this book. One word. Practical
I already knew about the power of the marketplaces, and made quite a bit of sales on them.
But this particular book filled in gaps in my knowledge about platforms I had no idea about (after initial read the whole book is full of notes), and I've already scheduled a bunch of my products to appear on those marketplaces

This is a very easy read that is full of great information! The author doesn't wastes times and shows you exactly what you want to know! It supplements each buy button site with a live experience, but he keeps it short and very entertaining!
