I didn't realize this was written 50 years ago until the last notes that are clearly way behind current science re: brainwashing and especially sleep training(it weirdly just states Huxley was a eugenics advocate-without commentary. It seems that should be pointed out due the way population is completely controlled. It's an odd satire dystopia that seems the author partially agrees with what is happening. ). Not much of a fan of the novel/plot itself(as the author says is thin himself) but it's ideas are very interesting and it's influence is massive. This explains all you need to know to refresh you on the story. I like how it compares it to 1984 because they overlap so much, it makes sense.
This book was recommended by a customer. I was horrified that many of Huxley's predictions (originally written in the 1930's) had come into being by the 1950's when "Revisited" was written and today more than 60 years later are even more relevant. These observations about the power of propaganda, use of drugs as mind altering substances, over - population, over organization (human kind beginning to act like termites and the use of eugenics are all concepts we are familiar with and in some cases accept without much deliberation. I recommend to those of a thoughtful, enquiring nature.
