This was a fun story to write. Many children deal with the angst of a family move, so I thought, why not tell it from a medieval perspective? Rolan quickly became one of my favorite characters, and Orin Hadamin refused to stay in the background where I wanted him to be; but not until three quarters of the way through the book did I realize that he would become a key character in the next book of the STOLEN HERITAGE series, ARGEN'S SHADOW, hopefully due out next spring.
