ALL STANDALONE BOOKS - BUT HAVE CHARACTERS YOU MAY RECOGNISE. Sophie Parker had felt the guilt of her existence, her entire life. Her mother dying during childbirth, resulted in her being dismissed from her father and her brother’s life and sent to live in London with her maternal grandparents. Even as a small child, living in a house full of grief had a huge impact on Sophie’s character. Knowing her life came at a price, she attempted to be the person that her family wanted her to be, which was her mother. Reconnecting with her estranged brother at the age of thirty-one, Sophie believed she had finally found someone to rely on, to trust. To hear that he had been brutally murdered, not four years later, a devastated Sophie decides to fly to Denver to find justice for her beloved brother. Detective Nathan Austin can hardly take his eyes off of the shapely body of Sophie Parker. The girl with the huge hazel eyes, filled with such sadness and suspicion, intrigues him like no one before. Stubborn, self-contained, Sophie brings out a side to Nate that he usually reserves for his family. Protector. As Sophie hits one drama after another, Nate finds himself there to catch her at every fall, until the full details of her brother’s sordid past become apparent. * Please note, this book contains adult content.

This went in a totally different direction to what I thought it would. Shocked me to be honest. Felt uncomfortable at times, but is wasn't a bad story..

Absolutely loved this!
Quite an emotional book at times, but kept me hooked until the end. I loved Nate's determination to ensure a happy ending for him and Sophie.
