♡ Jeri's Book Attic ♡ I like

I liked the Blurb of “Sight Unseen” so I decided to request the ARC for review. Barbara Cutrera was a “new to me” author so when I started reading “Sight Unseen” I was unsure of what to expect.

The writing of this author is solid and basically it could have been a really great story.

Basically that is …

Usually I refrain from going deeper into the plot to avoid spoiler, but I am afraid in this special case I need to go at least a little into detail to explain better where my problems with this book

This is one of the most difficult reviews I’ve had to write, but it’s not what you think. My challenge was finding the correct words that would express how much I loved this book.
I read the blurb for Sight Unseen a while ago, probably when the cover reveal came out and after reading it, I immediately knew that this was a book that I wanted to read. I’m a blogger so I have the opportunity to read ARCs, but not in this case. I bought Sight Unseen as soon as it came out and put it aside to read as

Favorite Quotes:

I’m dying to know. Spice up your mother’s world, and tell me if being with a blind man was different than being with a sighted man.

If you did want to try it, we could write books about BDSM and the blind and call them Fifty Shades of Black.

My only choice is to do everything to the best of my ability, so people don’t think I’m worthless because I can’t see!

My Review:

Other than the obvious issues, I have never given much thought to the specific challenges complete blin

I am so glad I am done with this book. It was…. you guys, I don’t want to be mean but this book was terrible. Just awful. There was no real storyline to it. Just a series of events that happened in succession to these characters. There was no real plot, they met, fell in love and life happened. I found it to be melodramatic. It was also insta-love on top of that. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind a good insta-love as long as its written in such a way to mak

+++ Arc provided by the publisher, via NetGalley, for an honest review +++
This story seems to me to give a realistic approach to what’s living with blindness. It’s a positive approach since the hero is blind since birth and is very well adapted in his private and professional life
I liked the beginning and enjoyed the attraction between hero and heroine. The hero’s blindness is more a difference than a disability and I’ve appreciated that. There’s no real drama about his blindness in their roma

I was given this book for my honest review.

Beth and Logan's journey isn't like any other that we have read by this author. The thrills, tears and joy of the book will have you gasping for subtle breaths in all the right places and saying 'awe' in all the others. This book is a delight a refreshing newness that this author brings to the table.

As I continue to read each of this author's reads the best and the worst of her feelings come through the pages that be.

An enjoyment and refreshing r

This was a new author to me, but I decided to give her a chance because the plot sounded really interesting to me.

Obviously from the description of the book, we know that Logan is blind. The entire story is not only built on this fact, but at times it seems like this is the only plot. Page after page after page is spent detailing how Logan does things: grocery shopping, walking around a new city, ordering from a menu, being intimate with a woman and taking notes during a meeting

I received this book from net gallery for an honest review.

This was a truly inspirational read and at times completely blew me away.

Beth is helping Logan with his new venture Sight Unseen - which sells equipment to aid visually impaired people. Logan blindness shocks Beth but she doesn't allow it to hinder her professionalism. Beth is instantly attracted to Logan but she has a rule about not dating clients.

Beth and Logan's working relationship has come to an end but can either pluck up the cou

A wonderfully tragic read about a man born blind due to circumstances beyond his control and a woman who's family life has much to be desired. These 2 meet when she does work for his new business he is opening and they find they are attracted to each other. Since they are both so damaged, they must try to find a way to make it work so they can be together or should they go their separate ways? This book had triumphs, tragedies and love will conquer all in it. Barbara is such a descriptive author ...more
It was OK, I do enjoy reading about underdogs/people who "see" the world differently. But all the curve balls detracted from the story. There was way too many.

I found this to be an inspirational read with the way that the main character Logan was working on a new business venture of creating aids for visually impaired people. Logan is visually impaired and found that I enjoyed his character a lot and I think the story highlights the way that people who are visually impaired can be treated. I found Logan to be an incredible strong character that I really enjoyed reading about him. There was a lot of emotion written into this story that made it that muc ...more

I am reviewing this book based on an ARC received from NetGalley in exchange for an honest opinion.

I found this book to be a bit preachy at times which I did not enjoy. In general I liked the characters and the storyline although the characters views on disabilities and different like choices seemed alarmingly backwards to me.

I really tried to love this book more then I did. It's not that it was horrible, but it isn't going on my favorite list.

What I liked

I really enjoyed the face that the hero was blind and independent. It proves that your disability shouldn't force you to be anything but amazing.

I love how the relationship progressed from them working together for months on and then they started out this relationship. It was cute to see.

I loved that Logan made something of him self. It was a cool twist.

I loved Logan and Beth's sexy love story! Not only were they "real" people who fell in love, but they had their own opinions about how they looked at life. For instance, Beth has a problem with BDSM because her brother, who has anger issues, is into it. She finds it distasteful and doesn't mind saying so. Logan isn't into it but is more open-minded about it. But when new crises involving the subject tear Beth's family apart, she doesn't hesitate to vocalize her distress. But this is by no means ...more

I received this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. I liked this story and I really liked Logan and Beth. I think the author's portrayal of Logan, who is blind, is a wonderful way to show that people with disabilities are able to live independent, fulfilling productive lives. Logan goes through some pretty horrible events in the book and Beth is there to love him through them. Beth is a very loving and caring person who has her own set of problems in the form of her brother, pa ...more

Reading the synopsis of this book realloy grabbed my attention. And for part of the novel I really found it fascinating having a blind hero. However, aside from there being way too many dramatic issues for anyone couple to have endured over the course of a couple of months, parts of the book were simply too preachy. I can appreciate that not everyone is into BDSM and that is just fine. But the heroine and her mother were so anti that they wouldn't even speak to her father or brother because they ...more
Logan hires the company that Beth works at to help him jump start his business. Nothing happens with them for the 5 months when they work together. After the business opens, Logan and Beth decide to start dating. Logan is blind. Logan was blind since birth since his mother used drugs until the day she gave birth to him.

Some parts I liked and others I did not. I loved the premise. The characters were fine. However, there were some writing issues. Too much detail about things I could care less ab
