It all starts with a fashion show. It’s fashion week in Milano – Milano, Florida, that is, and Summer Smythe has snagged tickets for herself and her friend Dorothy Westin to the luncheon and fashion show that are kicking things off. However, things take a strange turn when Angelica Downs, one of the models, asks them for help before the show starts. When they try to track her down, they find her dead body. Angelica’s mother, Frankie, is living in the part of their senior center for those with me ...more

I loved this book! It's funny, touching, and addictive. Dorothy and Summer are such a wonderful team. Mathews does a fantastic job of creating unique and appealing supporting characters as well. She also paints the perfect picture of the characters' lives in Florida. I was reading the book on a cross country flight and wouldn't deplane until I read the last page! I really hope there are more Ladies Smythe & Westin, because I'm totally hooked on these sleuths and their world.

I absolutely love this book cover! And the clever names of the ladies Smythe and Westin.

They may be a generation apart, but these ladies work together in perfect harmony!

When one of the models turns up dead at the fashion show, the ladies are on the case. It just so happens that the model's mother is also a resident at the retirement center and the girls are pulled in to find out who did it and there are a lot of suspects.

This is a delightful addition to this clever intergenerational cozy series. SO many things could go wrong here, starting with the Smythe and Westin thing but Mathews keeps everything on track without going overboard with the tweeness or humor. Secrets and lies are the basis for all the best mysteries and there's a good one here. Nicely written with a plot that never gets too twisty or, even better, too obvious. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. I'm looking forward to the next installment!

This is a great little cozy series that I enjoy. Set in South Florida with a nice mix of older ladies from the Hibiscus Pointe Retirement Community and a young hip unemployed film director's daughter they team up to solve crimes in the area. This is book 3 of the Ladies of Smyth and Westin series and it continues to make me laugh as Summer and Dorothy figure out who done it.

I loved this madcap mystery! It was so cute.

A model turns up dead at a fashion show and Summer and Dot are on the case to try and solve the murder. Dorothy (Dot) is an older lady and Summer is her young friend. Dot lives at a retirement home and, as it turns out, the model's mom is there but it seems not of her own will.

The characters in this book are colorful and awesome. I couldn't put the book down it was so fun! This book is the 3rd in a series and I'm planning to read the previ

Fashionably Late was a light, fun read set in a senior living community and part of the holiday fashion show season. At the first show, unlikely friends and fellow sleuths Summer Smythe and Dorothy Westin get a help message from model Angelica. When she goes missing, they end up finding her smothered in a closet. As they begin their search for her killer, jewelry from a hot new designer winds up stolen from the shows too. Are victims turning up dead because they saw the thief or did they die bec ...more
