ممتاز مفتی نے 1968ء میں قدرت اللہ شہاب کے ہمراہ حج بیت اللہ کی سعادت حاصل کی۔ اس سفر کے تقریباً چھ سال بعد 1975ء میں ان کے حج کے سفر کی روداد ایک رپوتاژ کی شکل میں التحریر، لاہور کے زیر اہتمام شائع ہوئی۔ اس پہلے یہ روداد قسط وار سیارہ ڈائجسٹ میں چھپ چکی تھی۔
لبیک ممتاز مفتی کی سب سے زیادہ تہلکہ خیز اور رجحان ساز کتاب ثابت ہوئی اور اس نے اردو ادب میں ایسی سنسنی کو جنم دیا جس کی باز گشت دیر تک دنیائے ادب کی فضائوں میں گونجتی رہی۔ یہ کتاب ممتاز مفتی کی سب سے زیادہ پڑھے جانے والی کتاب ثابت ہوئی۔ ممتاز مفتی نے اس کتاب کے حقوق عام کر دیئے اوررائلٹی کی مد میں کوئی رقم حاصل کرنے کا حق تلف کر دیا جس کے نتیجے میں پاکستان کے ہر بڑے چھوٹے ناشر نے اسے چھاپا اورعام کیا۔

About the author

Mumtaz Mufti (Sitara-e-Imtiaz) is a Pakistani short story writer. He started writing Urdu short stories while working as a school teacher before partition. In the beginning he was considered among his contemporaries, a non-conformist writer having liberal views, who appeared influenced by Freud. His transformation from Liberalism to Sufism was due to his inspiration from Qudrat Ullah Shahab (Another well known Pakistani Author). At the same time, he did manage to retain his individual accent and wrote on subjects which were frowned upon by the conservative elements in society.

The two phases of his life are witnessed by his autobiographies, Ali Pur Ka Aeeli and Alakh Nagri. According to forewords mentioned in his later autobiography, Ali Pur Ka Aeeli is an account of a lover who challenged the social taboos of his times, and Alakh Nagri is an account of an acolyte who greatly influenced by the mysticism of Qudrat Ullah Shahab.

Talaash ("Quest") was the last book written by Mumtaz Mufti.

This is one of the best travelogues in Urdu to have come from a time when travel writing genre boasted great writers such as Mustansar Hussain Tarar, Jamiluddin Aali and Mumtaz Mufti himself.

In this travelogue Mumtaz Mufti employs his signature irreverence to tell the story of his personal relationship with Allah in the mould of Iqbal. [Faarigh tou na bethe ka mehshar mein junoon mera / Ya apna girebaan chaak ya daaman-e-yazdaan chaak]. He questions his God, explores His presence in his life, implores Him to enlighten him with a spark of the divine. The whole story is a one dialogue with Allah, shifting from addressing invisible readers to God himself and back again, in beautifully crafted witty sentences, that bring to the fore Mumtaz Mufti's craft as a major Urdu writer.

I am at a loss to understand why he hasn't been extensively translated into English. If not his travel writing then at least his fictions, of which there is a lot to read and appreciate.

It is regrettable that of late travel writing in Urdu has descended into the most banal and pointless travel stories. Every person who's been abroad comes back to write one, like an extended blog post, a long reportage, without any sense of the tradition in Urdu, and without much grounding in the language or the requisites of travel-writing.

Since globalisation international travel has lost its exotic nature. Everyone travels to Europe and Southeast Asia and Americas and to other countries these days. So Urdu travelogues written in the old style will no longer work. Urdu travel writers will have to discover new, creative wways of telling stories of their travel.

بہت عمدہ اور منفرد سفرنامہ حج جسے ممتاز مفتی صاحب نے رپورتاژ کے طور پر پیش کیا ہے۔

سچ کی کڑواہٹ، دروغ گوئ کی چاشنی، طنز کے ننھے منے تیر اور مزاح کی دلفریب پھلجڑیوں کے حسین امتزاج لیئے ہوئے مفتی صاحب کا دلچسپ اسلوب بیاں پڑھنے والے کو آخری صفحے تک جکڑے رکھتا ہے۔

گو اس کتاب کے کچھ حصوں سے مجھے چنداں اتفاق نہیں، مگر یہ کتاب اس صنف میں ایک ادبی شاہکار ہے۔

اس عظیم سفر پر نکلنے والے ہم جیسے عام زائیرین کے وہ احساسات جنہیں زباں تک لانا ہر کسی کے بس میں نہیں ان جذبات کو اس قدر خوبصورتی سے مفتی صاحب نے بیان کیا ہے کہ کئ ایک مقامات پر ٹھہر کر ان اقتباسات کی گہرائیوں کو اپنے اندر سمو لینے اور انہیں بار بار پڑھنے میں بے پناہ لطف محسوس ہوا۔

کتاب میں چند مقامات پر مبالغہ آرائ سے کام لیا گیا ہے مگر انداز اس قدر سادہ ہے کہ یقین کر لینے کو جی چاہتا ہے اور گماں ہوتا ہے کہ جیسے مفتی صاحب نے اپنے اندر کسی معصوم بچے کو چھپارکھا ہو جو ہر چیز کو اتنی حیرت سے دیکھتا اور اس شدت سے محسوس کرتا ہے کہ جن احباب نے حج یا عمرہ کی سعادت حاصل کی ہو وہ بھی یہ سوچنے پر مجبور ہوجائیں کہ ہم نے اس زاویہ نظر سے کیوں نہ سوچا۔

"Labbaik", by Mumtaz Mufti is a collection of esays on the topic of the holy Muslim pilgrimage(Hajj). Although it had been written many years ago when Mumtaz Mufti went for 'Hajj' in 1968 whatever he had written in "Labbaik" is still relevant today. Although it appears in a magazine episodically. I have read it in a book form after passing many years. To be honest, to read any book by Sir Mumtaz Mufti is a wonderful adventure.

An excellent book, though don't agree with some views of Mufti Sahab, apart from that "Labaik" is a beautiful journey, spiritual happiness of being there and changes that happen before and after "Haj". It's more like an honest confession of an honest man.
Deeply touched while reading, cried and that thought how sinful I'm.
A thought provoking book and classic indeed.

It was always intriguing to see people return from Hajj a completely different person. I thought that they just perform some rituals, what's the big deal in that. Why would walking around few places change you? But this book answered some of those questions.

If you have the same questions, this book is for you.

This world is not so simple. You have to open your inner eyes to see the puzzles and mystical dimensions that this earth has for you. It was really a thought provoking book.

Actually re-read in 2018. The first novel that I read from this writer around 2008. The first time I read it was out of curiosity when I overheard one of my casually racist uncles bashing the writer of being sacrilegious. If you have heard the same nonsense, don't pay heed to it. The writing style is beautiful and describes the struggles of a man who is skeptic about religion and the existence of God in an honest and soulful manner.

کچھ بعید نہیں کہ اس کتاب کی اشاعت سے مفتی صاحب کو ڈھیروں گالیاں پڑیں۔ ان پر فتوے لگیں۔ اس کتاب کو BAN کرنے کی سفارش کی جاۓ۔ ان میں سے کچھ بھی ہو یا سب کچھ ہو، مجھے ذرا تعجب نہ ہو گا کہ وہ ایسے تماشے خود ہی کرتا ہے اور خود ہی دیکھتا ہے۔ پتا نہیں اسے تماشے اتنے کیوں مرغوب ہیں۔ یہ جہان، اس کا سارا کاروبار، یہ ساری کائنات اور اس کی ہاؤ ہو تماشاہی تو ہے۔ دلچسپ دل کش ، خوف ناک، عقل کی بنیاد میں ہلا دینے والا تماشا۔ اور سب سے بڑے تماشے تو وہ ان کے بناتا ہے جنہیں وہ بہت عزیز رکھتا ہے۔ نبیوں کے باپ سے کہتا ہے کہ ہونے والے نبی کے گلے پر چھری چلا دے۔ وہ چلاتا ہے تو اسے بچا بھی لیتا ہے۔ اپنی ایک جھلک کا ہلکا سا عکس دکھا کر موسٰی کو پہاڑ پر بلاتا ہے اور اس کے سر پر نبوت کی گھڑی رکھ دیتا ہے۔ موسی لاکھ ہاتھ جوڑتے ہیں۔ واسطے دیتے ہیں، فریاد کرتے ہیں، مجھے نبوت کی حاجت نہیں، میرے بھائی کو نبی بنا دے مگر گٹھڑی انہی کے سر پر ٹکا دی جاتی ہے۔ اپنے سب سے محبوب اور عزیز رسول کو طائف کے بھرے بازاروں میں لہولہان کرا دیتا ہے۔ دیکھا آپ نے کیسا تماشاگر ہے۔ سو مفتی صاحب پر افشاۓ راز کی تہمت بھی لگائی جاۓ تو کیونکر۔ مفتی صاحب کی کیا بساط کہ ایسی جرات کر سکتے۔

Non-review rant
I read it in 2005. A colleague of mine recommended it to me. I thank him, for I was missing a gem of a book.
Review
The book is narration of first hand experience and feelings of author from his hajj pilgrimage. More than that,it is about his connection with Allah. It is beautifully written.
One of the few lines I still remember and use ever so often. (Loosely worded, don't remember the exact words)
"Hum to 'Ihdinas sirat al mustaqeem' kehte huye bhi dil mein sochte hain ki aye allah, ekdum seedha raasta nahi, thoda margin rehne dena."
Verdict
If you don't read it, it will be your loss.

Excellent book. Beautifully written. Made you think about the relationship/connection of Allah with his people, How 'Raheem and kareem HE is.
You can't turn the next page of this book without having tears in your eyes.This book deeply touched my heart and made me cry on almost every line.
"Yeah teray pursaarar banday jinay tou nay behshaw hai zouk e khudie"
This is the feeling i had while reading this book. Truly a thought provoking book. Indeed a clasical gem. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. I repeat HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

This is one of the classics that i have every touched in my life.
the way he writes this travelogue, the Safar-nama, the aap-beeti in that safar-nama, the inner of Qudratullah Shahab saahb everything is but exceptional.
Hats off... A True sprtitual feed, though opposed by many muslim moulanas of the past, this book remains in shelfs of the book lovers.

I was expecting it to be a book clearly spelling out Hajj performing method, but mostly it accounts for author imagination about different things. It has been written in a melodramatic tone focusing on fellow pilgrim of author. There are some interesting anecdotes and sharp observations but they are clouded by mystic effect.

کبھی شدت سے جی چاہتا ہے نہ کہ اپنے رب کی موجودگی کو محسوس کریں۔ دل کو ڈهارس ملے کہ وہ ہمیں سن اور دیکھ رہا ہے۔

کبھی محسوس کیا ہے آپ نے ایسا کوئی احساس جس میں انسان کا شافی قلب دل سے قریب تر محسوس ہو؟

ہاں اُس وقت جب دل کی سختی اپنی انتہا کو پہنچ کر اِسے پتھر کرنے کے در پر ہو اور کوئی ذات غیب سے دوبارہ دل کو نرم کردے۔ اس میں محبتوں کے لیے وسعتیں اور نفرتوں کے لیے تنگیاں پیدا کرے۔ جب ہم کسی گناہ کے عادی ہوں اور ایک دن پورے وجود میں ایک سرگوشی گونجے کہ آج اسے ترک کردو۔ کوئی ہے جو اپنے بندے کی نادانیوں کو درگزر کررہا ہے۔ وہ جو ہمارے نامہ اعمال کو سرخ دھبوں سے بھرنے کی بجائے ہماری پردہ پوشی کرے گا۔ جو دنیا میں ہماری بڑی بڑی پریشانیوں کو ایک سچی پکار سے چٹکیوں میں حل کرے وہ ہمیں کیوں نہ چاہتا ہوگا۔

شیطان کے وسوسوں کے بارے میں ہم تذکرہ کرتے رہتے ہیں۔ نفس کے بہکاووں کو رونا ہمارا معمول ہے لیکن وہ ایک سرگوشی، ایک اشاره یا نشانی جو نیکی کی طرف مائل کرے، وہ لمحے جب انسان کو سب سے زیادہ چاہنے والی ذات بہت نزدیک محسوس ہو.....اپنی پوری زندگی کا سرمایہ لگنے لگتے ہیں۔ دل چاہتا ہے چیخ چیخ کر سب کو متوجہ کریں کہ
"ہاں اس نے ہمیں دھتکارا نہیں۔ ہم سے ناراض نہیں ہوا۔ ابھی یوں لگا جیسے اس نے کہا کہ آنے والا وقت پہلے سے بہت بہتر ثابت ہوگا"

"لبیک" بھی اس ذات، دل اور بندے کی کہانی ہے۔ جسے پڑھنے سے پہلے مجھے لگا کہ اس میں حج کی متعلقہ آیات، دعاؤں اور سنتوں کی تفصیل رقم ہوگی۔ لیکن یہ تو ایک عام بندے کی خاص گھر تک پہچنے کی داستانِ سفر ہے۔ جو سفر ممتاز مفتی نے اپنے دوست "قدرت اللہ شہاب" کے زیرِ سایہ طے کیا۔ حج کے بارے میں تجسس مفتی کو خانه خدا تک لے گیا اور وہ در حقیقت اپنے رب کی محبت کی چاشنی میں سر سے پیر تک ڈوب گئے۔ ساری دنیا بجھ گئی اور بندہ اپنے رب کے کالے کوٹھے کے نور میں اس کے گرد چکر کاٹنے لگا۔ جس کی چهت سے بارہا انھیں کسی کی تانک جھانک محسوس ہوتی رہی۔

ذکر خدا کریں ذکر مصطفیٰ نہ کریں
ہمارے منہ میں ہو ایسی زبان خدا نہ کرے

یہ پرنور سفر حبیب خدا کے گھر کے پھیرے کے بغیر ادھورا ہے۔ مدينة النبی صلی اللّٰہ علیہ وآله وسلم وہ گوشہ کائنات ہے جہاں کا ذرہ ذرہ نبی کی رحمت میں ڈوبا ہوا ہے۔ ہر جگہ قدم رکھتے ہوئے انسان کو نعلین مبارک کے نشان محسوس ہوتے ہیں۔

یوں رحمتوں اور نیکیوں کو سمیٹ کر انسان اپنی دنیاوی حقیقت کی طرف لوٹ آتا ہے مگر دل کا ایک ٹکڑا مطعاف میں چکر کاٹتا اور مدینے کی گلیوں میں گھومتا رہ جاتا ہے۔

اللہ ہمیں بھی اپنے کوٹھے کے گرد چکر کاٹنے کی لذت سے نوازے۔

حج کے موضوع پر لکھا گیا ایک سفر نامہ
سفرنامے پڑھنے کے نام سے میں کنی کتراتی تھی کہ اللہ جانے کیا ہی ہوتا ہوگا ان میں، مختلف مقامات کے نام، فاصلوں کی پیمائش اور کیا کچھ نہیں جو یاد رکھنا میرے لیے ناممکن ہوگا اور پڑھنا بھی خیر اچھی خاصی مشقت کا کام ہوگا
پر ہمت کر کے لیبک خریدی اور پڑھنی شروع کی، اور میری توقعات کے برعکس معلوم ہوا سفر نامے خاصے دلچسپ ہوتے ہونگے
کتاب کی طرف آئیں تو میں کہنا چاہوں گی اس سے بہتر حج کے موضوع پر سفر نامہ نہیں لکھا جا سکتا،
حج کو فرض سمجھ کر بھی ادا نا کرنے کا ارادہ رکھنے سے لیکر حج پر جانے کے اشارے ملنا پھر حج پر جانے کے لیے خود کو تیار کرنا اور تیاری ہو چکنے کے بعد آنے والی رکاوٹوں کی وجہ سے ارادہ دھندلا ہونے پھر حج پر جاتے ہوئے اس سوچ پر کہ میں تو محمدٌ کی خدمت میں سلام پیش کرنے جارہا کہاں میں کہاں اللہ، میں انہیں نہیں جانتا سے لیکر مکہ پہنج کر کالے کوٹھے سے وابستگی کے بعد، میں یہی رکنا چاہتا ہوں مدینہ جا کر کیا کروں گا، پھر مدینہ اور پھر حج سے واپسی کا سفر
ہر چیز کو اتنے اچھے،حقیقی طریقے سے طنز و مزاح میں لپیٹ کر بیان کیا ہے کسی بھی مقام پر اپنی توجہ ادھر سے ادھر ہوتی نہیں پائے گے،ایک چیز وہ میں نے کبھی نہیں سوچی تھی وہ یہ کہ میں حج کے بارے میں لکھی گئی کتاب پڑھتے ہوئے ہنس بھی سکتی ہوں، پر چند ایک مقام پر مفتی صاحب کے انداز بیان نے یہ بھی کروا ڈالا
حج پر جانے کا یہ سفر کسی خاص انسان کا نہیں تھا، ہم جیسے ایک عام انسان کا تھا جو جانتا ہے کہ وہ گناہگار ہے، کتاب میں چیزوں کو جس طرح لکھا گیا ہے وہ محسوس ہم میں سے بہت سارے لوگ کر سکتے ہیں، لیکن اس کا اقرار کرنا پھر اظہار کرنا یہ مفتی صاحب ہی کر سکتے تھے
میں اس لائق کہاں کہ حج پر جاسکوں سے اللہ نے مجھے حج کے لیے چنا ہے تو میں خاص ہوں پھر اتنا برا ہوں کہ اللہ کے گھر میں حاضر ہوکر بھی حاضر نہیں سے میری حاضری قبول ہوگئی ہے کا سفر میں نے مفتی صاحب کے ساتھ ساتھ طہ کیا آج تک کسی کتاب کو پڑھتے ہوئے میں نے اس قدر نہیں محسوس کیا کہ یہ میری کہانی ہے جس قدر میں نے لیبک کو پڑھتے ہوئے محسوس کیا،
ہاں اگر کوئی شخص بات بات پر فتویٰ دینے والا ہے تو وہ یہ کتاب نا پڑھے تو بہتر ہے
قدرت اللہ شہاب کا ذکر جس قدر اور جس طرح کیا گیا ہے وہ کسی بھی انسان میں تجسس پیدا کرنے کے لیے کافی ہے کہ ان کے بارے میں پڑھے، جانے کہ آخر وہ کیا شخیصت تھے اس لیے اگلا مشن شہاب صاحب کو پڑھنا ہے

Mumtaz Mufti is renowned Pakistani Urdu writer who is mostly known for employing irreverent writing style. Initial writings reflect his religious skeptic personality which gradually transitioned into sufism approach.

Labbaik belongs to travelogue genre which narrates the unparalleled travel story of Hajj. As myriad books have been published which delineates the nitty gritty of Hajj but this book is unique in its kind as it sketches the struggles of a man who is dubious about the existence of the God. Mumtaz mufti illustrated his doubts about the religion insolently and this bold style reflects his honesty and soulful manner.

Labbaik is not centered around the Hajj rituals and dos and don'ts of the pilgrimage. This book is started from Mumatz mufti' curiosity over the fact that why Muslims yearn for this pilgrimage. What is so exceptional about this ritual. His curiosity and the companionship of the Qudrat-ullah-Shahab paved his way towards this sacred journey where he went through many phases. Starting from questioning the God to explore and sense His omnipotent presence in truest form. The whole story is well crafted one-way dialogue in cyclic manner, shifting its address from ALLAH to readers and then cycle repeats in a synchronized way.

Labbaik has been banned and bashed many times by declaring it as a profane content. This might be due to Mumtaz Mufti' bold writing style. But, I personally sensed genuineness and honesty of feelings beneath the layers of seemingly acrid sentences. Overall, this book is an exceptional piece of literature which demands maturity of mind.

لبّیک کیوں پڑھوں؟
میں کونسا حج کرنے جارہا ہوں!
سفر نامہ ہی تو ہے۔۔۔خوامخواہ مفتی نے فلاں جگہ فلاں شخص فلاں عبادت کا ذکر کیا ہوگا۔
میں نہیں پڑھتا۔۔۔پڑے رہے لائبریری میں۔
مفتی پاگل ہے۔۔۔اسکا دماغ جل گیا ہے۔۔۔حج کے سفرنامے کون لکھتا ہے۔۔۔خدا سے ملاقات کی روداد لکھ ڈالی!

لیکن
عجیب بات ہے
کوئی کیسے گناہگاروں کو بلاتا ہے اپنے در پر۔۔۔خدا کی ذات عجیب ہے۔۔۔
سوچھا تھا ایک کمرہ ہی تو ہے۔۔۔جسے ایک نبیٌ نے تعمیر کرایا تھا۔۔۔کوئی زیادہ سے زیادہ کیا لکھ سکتا ہے اسکے بارے میں!
لیکن۔۔۔اتنی گہرائی اتنا درد اتنی شدت کیسے پیدا ہوجاتی ہے اِسکے روبرو۔۔۔کیا ہے مفتی میں۔۔۔کہاں سے لایا ہے اتنی شدت۔۔۔یہ توقیر بھری بے مروّتی کتنی قریب کرتی ہے خدا کی۔
یقین جانئے لگتا نہیں مفتی کیساتھ ہورہا ہے یہ سب۔۔۔جیسے میں تھا ہر جگہ۔۔جیسے میرے پر ہنس رہے تھے سب۔۔۔جیسے وہ کالے بے ڈھبے کوٹے کا والی مجھے آنکھ ماررہ�� تھا۔۔جیسے میں لڑکڑا رہا تھا وہاں حرم میں(کیفیت۔۔افففف)
انگلی پکڑ کے مکے مدینے کی سیر نہیں کرواتے۔۔۔جیسے عام سفرنامہ نگار کرواتے ہیں۔۔۔مفتی تو آپ کو اٹھا کر زبردستی خانہ خدا کی پُر ہیبت ماحول میں گھاڑ دیتے ہیں۔۔۔پھر کہتے ہیں اب سڑو یہاں پر۔
حج ایک فریضہ ہے۔۔۔حرمین ایک گونج ہے۔۔۔مفتی قلم ہے۔۔۔لبّیک تفسیر ہے اُس اواز کا جو ایک درویش دبی آواز میں بلند کرتا ہے۔۔۔۔لبّیک تفسیر ہے اُن آنسووں کا جو کسی ولی کے آنکھوں سے جھلکتے ہے سبز جھالی کے پہلو میں بیٹھ کر۔
لبّیک ایک چھانٹا ہے جو مفتی اُن تمام مفاہیم پر مارتے ہیں جو حج کے متعلق انسانوں نے صدیوں سے ذہنوں میں گھاڑ رکھے ہیں۔

مفتی صاحب سے میری وابستگی کا ذریعہ قدرت اللہ شہاب صاحب ہیں. قدرت اللہ کی شخصیت کی سحر انگیزی نے میرے دل میں مفتی صاحب کو جاننے کی تڑپ پیدا کر دی. لیکن ان کی اس کتاب کا مطالعہ کرنے کے بعد میں ان کے لکھے کا اسیر ہو گیا.
باقی قارئین کی طرح مجھے بھی لگتا تھا کہ "لبیک" ایسی کتاب ہو گی جس میں جج کے لوازمات و واجبات اور دیگر مسنون دعائیں درج ہو گی. پھر ایک عزیز نے میرا یہ وہم دور کیا اور مجھ میں اس قدر ہمت آ گئی کی بالآخر میں یہ کتاب خرید لایا
جب پڑھنا شروع کیا تو ماجرا ہی کچھ اور تھا یہاں تو سارا منظر ہی بدلا ہوا تھا. اس قدر بےباک اور حقیقت پسندانہ ادب میری نظر سے نہ گذرا تھا. مفتی نے جھوٹا لبادہ اتار کر ایسی منظر کشی کی کہ قاری کی آنکھیں نم پو جاتی ہیں
دل کے وہ جذبات جن کو ایک انسان بیش بہا تہوں میں چھپا کر رکھتا ہے مفتی نے ان جذبات کو منظر عام پر لا کھڑا کیا اور بتایا بھائیوں اور بہنو یہ کُل اصل ہے جس کس تسلیم کرنے سے تم انکاری ہو.
مفتی نے ہر جگہ مکمل انصاف برتا اور کہیں بھی بات کو گول مول کرنے کی کوشش نہیں کی. سب سے منفرد مفتی کا انداز بیان ہے حقیقت روشناس طنز اور مزاح کا ایسا مرکب کی قاری سوچ میں پڑ جاتا ہے آیا کہ یہاں مسکرا دو یا ٹوٹ کر رو پڑوں. اللہ اور رسول (ص) سے محبت کے مراحل جن سے مفتی گذرتا ہے ایسے لگتا ہے جیسے قاری کے دل کا حال ہو فرق صرف اتنا کی مفتی کے قلم سے بیان کیا جارہا ہو.
یہ کتاب واقعتاً ممتاز مفتی کو ممتاز کر گئی

Make me miss the good old days where one can go close to Rauza Pak and there were sacred places still standing tall...

It shakes one soul. Beautiful experience! Esp the Qadeem Buzurg who mysteriously appeared and were among the Shuhada e Badr.. Allah! How blessed those ppl were may Allah Kareem bless us with Shehre Sadr and eyes which can recognize, accept and follow the Ashiq and Marde Haq.

After taking my own elevating Journey of Hajj twice in 2010 and 2016, all I could do after reading this wonderful travelogue was to thank the Almighty for the comforts I have been through. Hajj, a second name metaphorically for patience is well expressed in this book. I recommend everyone to read this book who has already taken or intended to take a holy trip Kaaba.

Very inspiring details of the events of Hajj. Mumtaz Mufti struggle to know the truth is thought provoking. He has described his feelings and emotions very straight forwardly while narrating different events. The book also provides some insight into the personality of Qudratullah Shahab ( Writer of Shahab Nama and Maa Jee)

Loving the book.
It gives one a new perspective to everything. Giving a reader a new thought and something very new to think about. Nothing too big but very small minute things that we never even imagine even exist. Never have I ever thought on the grounds where the writer is being at his utmost honest input about his link with Allah.
