Rate this book

A really nice book in general. You can easily and swiftly gain insight into the era it depicts. As I read it in my native tongue, I can say that the translation was pretty good. It is really a pity that it isn't as recognised as it should be.
The book includes the constant battle of people living in the East against 'conquerors', whilst illustrating a group of young men willing to give up anything for their homes. There is a main love story which determines a lot of things in the story. The entire village would then fight the local authorities as they are all corrupted. In the end, revenge (not exactly legally).
I cried A LOT reading it (that's how I know it's a good book) and I think that at least it deserves a chance.
