True love gets a second chance this Christmas in Mustang Creek

Growing up in Mustang Creek, Wyoming, Charlotte Morgan couldn't wait to escape to the big city. But with a job she doesn't love and a sense of loneliness she can't shake, life in New York is less fabulous than she'd like to admit—especially now that veterinarian Jaxon Locke has left town.

Jax's move to Idaho to fill in at his dad's practice ended things with Charlotte just as they were getting interesting. But he didn't expect to miss her so much. So when Charlotte returns home to help care for the great-aunt who raised her, Jax is determined to get to Wyoming and do whatever it takes to win her back…and he'll start by giving her the most magical Mustang Creek Christmas of all.

Bonus novella! The town scrooge meets his perfect match in A Copper Ridge Christmas by New York Times bestselling author Maisey Yates

The daughter of a town marshal, Linda Lael Miller is a #1 New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author of more than 100 historical and contemporary novels, most of which reflect her love of the West. Raised in Northport, Washington, Linda pursued her wanderlust, living in London and Arizona and traveling the world before returning to the state of her birth to settle down on a spacious property outside Spokane.
Linda traces the birth of her writing career to the day when a Northport teacher told her that the stories she was writing were good, that she just might have a future in writing. Later, when she decided to write novels, she endured her share of rejection before she sold Fletcher’s Woman in 1983 to Pocket Books. Since then, Linda has successfully published historicals, contemporaries, paranormals, mysteries and thrillers before coming home, in a literal sense, and concentrating on novels with a Western flavor. For her devotion to her craft, the Romance Writers of America awarded her their prestigious Nora Roberts Lifetime Achievement Award in 2007.
Long a passionate Civil War buff, Linda has studied the era avidly for almost thirty years. She has read literally hundreds of books on the subject, explored numerous battlegrounds and made many visits to her favorite, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, where she has witnessed re-enactments of the legendary clash between North and South. Linda explores that turbulent time in The Yankee Widow, a May 7, 2019 MIRA Books hardcover, also available in digital and audiobook formats.
Dedicated to helping others, “The First Lady of the West” personally financed fifteen years of her Linda Lael Miller Scholarships for Women, which she awarded to women 25 years and older who were seeking to improve their lot in life through education. She anticipates that her next charitable endeavors will benefit four-legged critters.

There were some good characters in this heartwarming Christmas novel but too much "Christmas magic" for my tastes. The story of second chance romance is set in a small town in Wyoming and Charlotte returns home. I liked the element of the woman giving up the big city life and job to return to her roots. Jaxon is a veterinarian and that adds some good plot elements with cute animals and his work. But Mrs. Kloz and her ability to know what is going to happen and how to make things perfect is over the top. Also, many wishes come true which was a bit much.

Loved both stories. Charlotte (Christmas in Mustang Creek) was very stubborn & poor Jaxon was so in love with her. I adored Mrs. Klozz-a way to Jax’s heart is with her cooking. She had Jax pegged as for his affection for Charlotte & how to win her over. Would have loved her for my grandmother. Charlotte’s aunt Geneva was on Jax’s side concerning Charlotte.
Holly Fulton & Ryan Masters (A Copper Ridge Christmas) were like oil & water throughout the whole story but my heart went out to both of them. The ending was not what I expected, had me in tears.
